i think i kinda did as a kid, i remember adding banana slices to my rice krispies and having some OJ too, but the OJ and milk and sweet cereal clashed and i didn't bother with the glass of milk, just drank what was left in the bowl.
That's why America has an obesity problem!! Its not enough to eat this sugary crap, you have to add more carbs and calories with all that other crap. And then they put M&M's and Nerds candies IN THE BOX of cereal! No wonder children are developing Type II Diabetes at such an alarming rate!
Carbs didn't matter so much back then because kids actually went OUTSIDE and burned them off instead of playing another 54-hour video game or sitting on their asses sending useless texts that will mean nothing when they've grown up.

Even though the Atari 2600 (and other gaming consoles) was around beforehand, the arcade was the best place to go for video games. Today, we have the luxury of doing a ton of things from the comfort of our home.

My dad saw the box of Lucky Charms, and said "What kind of new age cereal is this?" (New Age because of the marshmallow shapes)

March 23, 2018-- all these commercials sounds and reminds me of children's Disney's and Universal Studios roller coaster rides.. They have T.V. before the roller coaster rides when you are standing in longest lines... Put it on loud speaker and bass and it really does sounds like it....
I like how accepting the mom in the S'mores crunch commercial is that a mysterious box of cereal just shows up in her house. If I were her, I would be like, "No, don't eat that, some lunatic must have broken into the house and left it there. It's probably poisoned. Pack your bags while I call the cops, 'cuz we're going to be spending a few days at your aunt's house."
back in the 80s, where they were toys and candy inside of cereal...damn now! and Apple Jacks tasted like Apple...however only one of these cereals did not make it to our time, it would be nice for Big G (General Mills) to bring back some of the big 80s cereals back for a limited time as part of a "General Mills Cereal Throwback" I also remember that they had a Pac-Man, Ice Cream Cones, and Fruit Island Cereal!
The good old days...I used to love cookie crisp & golden grahams, back when cereal actually tasted good, these same cereals are no near as good as they were back then. And oh Lucky Charms brings back memories, I remember just eating the marshmallows and leaving the rest of the cereal in the bowl, my mother got so pissed, she never bought me lucky Charms anymore after that!

All these commercials sell the idea that you're gonna have some kind of wonderfully productive day filled with lots of pep and punch thanks to the cold cereal you had for breakfast. Meanwhile I'm more apt to just eat it directly out of the box sans milk and then climb back into bed.
I just have to wonder if Henry Selick was at all involved in the animation for Circus Fun. It looks like his earlier animations and he did do commercial work before movies. It's possible.

I had toast sometimes with my cereal back then and juice lol. But cereal is one of those foods you can eat any time,like the lazy food snack.
Because cereal isn't filling enough. I do find it a little weird to have a glass of milk as a form of protein when there's already milk in the cereal.
