What a great teacher you are. Thank you for easily explaining things in such a sensible and flowing, manner that is full of epiphanies all the way through. I can take what you've taught for shekere and even apply that essence to my other hand percussion. Lots of gems. Many thanks for sharing your wealth and your gifts. God bless and all good things, sir.
Hello Michael what a marvellous find. I have a shekere it is beginning to release flakes perhaps from the shells. Can you please advise on how to care for such an issue. You or a viewer
+giuseppe roberto atzori Hi Giuseppe, there are different names for this Brazilian bucket: shekebalde, shequeba and perhaps more names, but I don't know them all. Good luck!!
Wonderful, I'm a late starter, 65, play novice shekere with local drum circle.....have found a tutor, Bradley Simmons, and have ordered very nice shekere from Timbali. I'm a left hander and have been told I hold the shekere too tightly. I don't read music.
I've been dying for some shekere instructions and rhythms. Especially in 4 4. Thank you for this lesson. Can't wait to play it live!
Your welcome Alberto! I'm glad you can use this lesson!

What's a good shekere pattern for samba reggae?
I would start with a afterbeat and from here add notes and variations. I wish you good luck!
