Hey I know this is last minute but I came across your video because I was looking up how to best handle an interview for people with disabilities I have a mild mental disability attention deficit disorder. I have applied for program quality Assurance. If you guys know what that is I'm under the impression is where if an adult with a disability files a claim then I will go into the group home in the community and I will investigate on that claim whether it was abuse and neglect or whatever the claim was filed on or what the case maybe come back to the office and write up the report and I'm sure there's more to the job than just that 35 hours a week at 15.000 an hour I have an interview tomorrow which is November the 13th of 2024 and this is the first time my job coach will not be in the interview with me I'm 39 years old I have here a very high function I appear like I can talk like no other like I know everything but when it comes to writing spelling punctuation I can't do it I was told that the company I'll be working for is where I get Services through and that there are softwares that do help with spelling punctuation and stuff like that so I wouldn't have to worry about that and that everything should go smoothly my question is what are some things that are going to ask me through the interview because I have never ever since I was 18 I have never gone through an interview in my entire life by myself I've always had a job coach you know prepping me days and weeks before you know I've done mock interviews I've done you know where we do flash cards and they get me prepped for it we go over some questions that might be asked in the interview so I'm a little less nervous I feel that I'm more vocal now I feel I'm not as shy anymore I feel I'm more a matter of fact straight to the point short sweet and simple kind of thing I feel I am more open then I used to be but at the same time when someone asks me certain questions I kind of get quiet and don't know how to answer them because I don't understand what they're exactly saying so I feel like an interview is going to go real crappy because I don't know what their meaning and they're going to look at me and say what do you mean you don't know what I mean and it's going to be I'm not going to hire you because you don't know what I mean and I'm really scared to death that HR is not going to hire me because I don't understand half of what she's saying because I was never prepared for the interview because my job because the job coach didn't prepare me for this so if anybody out there sees this within the next 6 hours please please get back to me ASAP or find me on Facebook anything and give me some food for that because my interview is tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. Indiana time and I am desperate for some advice on where do I go for some interview advice because they're going to be some questions that they ask me and I'm going to say I don't know what you mean can you please repeat that I don't understand what you're saying and if I say that more than once they're going to look at me and say what we need somebody that has a little more knowledge in this area than you you know you you appear very high function you appear very fashionable very well-dressed your hair is done your makeup done you know you're clean you care so much about people in the community we just need somebody a little more knowledgeable that's what I'm afraid of I'm afraid I'm not going to get it because I didn't answer the questions to the best of my ability and I said several times I don't understand I don't understand I don't understand and that's going to look really really bad so I need some help and some guidance if anyone sees this in the next couple of hours send me a message ASAP or find me on Facebook under Katie last name l a w y s Lewis spelled just like that no spaces find me on there on messenger and just give me some input I've never done an interview in my life by myself and I need some guidance can I go to my job coach I don't want to because at this point it's a little late and two I feel I just need a little guidance and then I can do this on my own sometimes I feel I have to be pushed to try things on my own get out of my comfort zone I think I've got this I really really want this job I really really do I'm praying and hoping I get it I think it's a good fit for me I would be around other people like me but also I would be able to speak up for people that may not have a voice I would be more of an advocate I will be able to be more of a person that says if this is how you feel I'm going to have your back I'm not going to let you be on the back burner I want to be that voice for somebody who may feel uncomfortable or unsafe I want to be that person for them I know what it's like and I want to be that for somebody else with a disability and I think I can do this I just need to know how to do the interview in a way that says wow she really wants this job I really think I can do this I really really think I can I just need somebody anybody to give me a little push and to tell me what I can say in the interview that's going to get them to say she really wants this and here you go
