I would not lose any sleep over missing out on Demar DeRozen. Same applies to Brook Lopez. The Lakers need to think about the future and get younger not older.

Best trades are made before training camp, some good players who are traded to bad teams are available to be trade again in september. Example - josh green is currently in hornets, and he can be traded after august 30th
Cam Johnson, DFS, Nikola Vucevic, Jalen Johnson ATL, Brook Lopez, Clint Capela, Zach Lavine are still available for trades
One thing that I have learned about all these teams making moves. The Lakers will have chemistry, and all these other teams will have to learn how to play with one another and incorporate these new players. Also, the Lakers are making trades every year, even after winning the championship.

For us adding a new coach is like signing a star LOL. Getting healthy also would be huge. If we can start as we finished last season, we are a top 4 team, and even if I am not the biggest fan of DLO in the playoff, I think if he plays like end of last season he would be equal to a third star. At least we can keep this roster until febuary deadline, and then decide what to do. If everyone (Kabe, Vando)is healthy and Knectch can be like a jaquez last year for Miami, we could still be very good.

No one wants to help make the Lakers win more championships. This means we can’t be concerned about getting fleeced because the Lakers tax is real, and you gotta be willing to pay it in order to get better players. Rob said we’d have 3 picks at our disposal this offseason and we’ve already used one ourselves. May as well send the other two to Portland and try to acquire Grant and Williams. Time to pay some taxes because we won’t get better another way. Thats the cost of being the boss. Make the deal with Portland or go for Cam Johnson and Cam Thomas (we need a true bucket getter off the bench).

He’s 6’9” with a 7’2” wingspan, averages 6 rebounds per game plus 1.5 blocks. He also shot 43% on low volume from the 3pt line. He’s much better than Hayes. He played backup to Embid and got more minutes after Embid’s injury. Granted Reed is not the perfect answer but he’s better than what’s left on the free agent market.
He’s versatile can play limited minutes behind Bron & Rui besides playing Center with AD at PF. He’s only 25 yrs old so he has time to improve.

The common issue I see is the Lakers simply cannot offer any large amount of money for a major star. They are nearly hard capped and have to do some complicated trades which no team seems interested in doing. Why should a major star take millions less to help the lakers instead of his own family? Any good GM should have seen this problem over a year away and prepared accordingly, but the current front office seems totally unprepared for the trade season.
