Vyacheslav Gryaznov plays Sergei Rachmaninoff: Italian Polka
(Transcription: V. Gryaznov)
February 19, 2019.
Grand Piano Series is a solo piano recital series held in Naples, Florida at Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church.
Piano: Fazioli F308 - เพลง
This arrangement was so good that I genuinely believed for a solid week that this was Rachmaninoff's original composition. Not easy to do at all.
I believed this for 2 months
so what _is_ Rachmaninoff's original version of this piece?
It's the one for four hands
just learned that as well :D
Чиз уж и кто. То
Gryaznov's arrangements are masterpieces. He should be much more well-known. Love that Fazioli!
i clapped with the audience at the end..
Started practising Gyaznov’s arrangement today! It’s such a fun and challenging piece to play :) Wish me luck!
How’d it go?
Did you succeed?
Just started today!
The hand reflection on the piano tho!
Pls tell me I wasn't the only one to laugh at that "Wow" at the end xD
Omg it is fenonminal performance
Man he played the HELL out of that piece. WOW… Bravo!!
Rachmaninoff would be proud!
"Wow" same
Something normal happening in Florida woah
wow ok, chill out buddy

とても軽やかで素敵です😊
何度も繰り返し聴いています💕
I can’t believe this was in Florida and I missed it, only 9 months ago??
I think he mistaked the real Naples with the Florida's one, that's why he played italian polka hahahahaha
:D
It is unlikely that Sergei Rachmaninoff could have imagined, that such a virtuoso transcription could be created from a children's polka ! But, Maestro performed the transcription so masterfully, that is breathtaking and especially valuable, that he always performance own transcriptions your self, exquisitely and deeply. . .
He certainly could because he himself arranged an even simpler polka (Franz Behr's "Lachtäubchen") in a similarly virtuosic manner for his father (Polka de W.R.)
Absolutely incredible!!!!! I can only imagine the talent and effort it takes to play this piece.
Oh the irony of cute ending..
His performance's melody is the acme of beauty
Amazing performance! Thanks

One of the most truly pleasing arrangements I have ever heard.
Fantastic
Excelente pianista!!! Felicitaciones!
Феноменальное исполнение! Максимально показаны возможности и рояля и пианиста-виртуоза. Невероятно талантливая транскрипция! Браво!

I am playing this at the moment!
Браво!!!!!!
this is my favorite musical composition of all times ❤️I thought it was meant to be performed in 4 hands , but this guy is obviously genius . I prefer this version over the original .

Wow.
I chose this for my FTCL exam which I shall hopefully be doing in December 2023. I really look up to you Mr. Gryaznov! Amazing pianist
Good choice and good luck
@@Chillaxer599 Thank you so much :) and my apologies for the late reply.
Good luck my friend! You probably already know, but Gryaznov reviewed this Polka in detail on his TH-cam channel, just in case you wanted a good reference :)
This guy looks like a russian version of the punisher. Cool arrangement as well
you have to be really talented to make that look easy and he did
Truly he is King Midas.
Everything ne touches turns to gold
💞💞
Is this the man who invented this spectacular arrangement
That was really cool. However, for all the folks saying "this is the most virtuosic version of this piece I've ever seen" etc., you guys should check out Arcadi Volodos's performance of Volodos's own transcription of this same piece. It's not as beautiful or lyrically varying in its tone... it's more of an aggressive technical onslaught the whole way through. But I do believe it's more difficult and demanding. This was sure beautiful though!
The lady that said "wow" at 3:38...yep.
is he really that young?
I know right
He was 37 here...
@@user-sw5pw3cs4w wtf I thought he was in his 20's here
@@Emblazon Same here LOL. You can imagine my shock when I look him up and says age 40
bravo macklemore.

No question that Rachmaninov himself would have smiled.
1:05, srsly mam, why
Also my neghbours would kill me if i learnt this
why is nobody talking ab how shiny the piano is...
flirted with the Hungarian Rhapsody there didn't he? Rach, I mean. very well performed
Spectacular playing but he needs to sack his barber
....
what's so bad about that haircut?
His transcriptions remind me of the supernatural ones from Godowsky.
😦
Chicken skin!!!!!!!! Incredible!!
Unplayable....😪
:)))))))))) true!
Not really
Is this even a Polka? poor arrangement.
