  • I experimented with pendulum painting. Watch to follow along with how I discovered how to do this. I had several theories that panned out, but also many failures that I as well as you can learn from. I ended up liking using a squeeze bottle and craftsmart paint from Michaels.

Strain your paint is a good practice and I think also very important is the bigger canvas the better result because you don’t loose anything of the drawn figure
Thank you for share ur experience

Thanks, Lacey, for doing all of the hard work in figuring out this technique. Callen Schaub would be proud of you!
I have the pendulum set-up, but I still need to figure out the paint.

Thank you for your video Madame. I’m going to give it a shot and see what I can come up with. It is mesmerizing, to say the least. Hopefully, I can paint a good one that might make my family smile once I’m gone. I don’t have much time left, but if I do this right, maybe it’ll leave a long lasting memory of the little time I’ve spent on this rock.

It takes a bit of practice and experimentation, but it's fun!

Around the 4 minute mark the volume dropped and I could barely hear you( had to turn up) but stopped at 445 mark with your voice over. Which was actually louder (had to turn down). But good after that But thank you for the informative video on Pendulum painting and how to thin the craft smart paint. Nice tip.

That's awesome.... Which is the distance between the cup and the canvas or paper?

thx i actually kinda liked the thin flung paint look quite a lot. I have 3 bottles like a chandelier you think that 3 bottles at once would be too much?

I think as long as your canvas is big enough it will look cool! The only thing I would worry about is the lines running together a bit too much, but I'd say it's worth a try!

What did you mean by poking a hole in the top and add the three prongs? Timeline 8:20 approx. I wasn't sure what you meant. Cool video. Thankyou!

I realize this is a year late,,,but,, I started out using the 11x14 canvas over poster boards also & I found out very quickly if I used wet paint for background the boards warped,,,some very badly, so I have been using spray paint, which does not soak in & dries very fast. No more warping!!!!!!!!!!

Jim, & Others; ... I Have same Problem, The Hard Boards also warp when hot & Cold air Changes Occur = My Shop isnt 24 hr a Day Heated instead daily wood burner Thusly warpage .........

Great tips but imo paint consistency is not optimal. That's the reason it puddles and line interrupts.

The other pendulum painter here runs his paint through a strainer

I tried mines today but it was not coming in a steady stream ..was dot at lines ..very annoying

Hi! Yes, that was the trickiest part. The only paint I got it to consistently work with was the CraftSmart paint from Michaels. I have done a little more testing since and if you're using larger quantities of paint, in a larger space, the weight of the paint and the full swing seem to make it flow easier. Good luck experimenting!

      @islandteaser 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@RebelUnicornCrafts yeah I figured out i had it a little too high from the canvas and yes you need lots of paint so the weight pushes it out in a steady stream ..when it's low it does flow well long ...trial an error ..

Viewers, If this is Abstract By personal Definition Then Abstract Has No Rules!!!! & and Any Haphazard pattern No matter how jagged, Sparse, Intermitant; Is Still Attractive to Some One Some where. Too many Are So Picky On What is Acceptable & Not, Its individual opinion & how OCD Nitpicky Lack Of Self control a Viewer is On their said opinions Which Actually Arent welcomed Unless requested. . All Art is Experimentation cause & Effect & Up To The eye of the Beholder!!! Paint Can be Aimed But the paint via the laws of Physics vs Gravity, Dictate Where & How It Ends up. And Many Times What isnt Good enough One day will become Good enough Creative another day. Lighten Up bcz In Abstract, ... Is there Really Any Such Thing as a "Mistake"? = Rhetorical bcz answer to an open mind is NO, &2A Closed mind all kinds Of Derogirories will Be Exhaled. Keep On Experimenting & Whole world Wide Displaying Is How a certain Piece Find s a CertaIn Lover-Buyer. and U Can ALWAYS paint Over Faux mistake 2 Re-Do It.... Lighten Up On Self & Other Artist Critiquing. Art is a paid hobby & any Time U Pressure Yerself it Becomes a "Chore" Which isnt Fun Or Entertaining

You need more height and the cup needs more weight.
