Can you please start putting the names of the games in the background into the description? I wanna play them but dont know what they are Also, include spark the electric jester 3 gameplay. It might be one of the best adventure style games out there.
I don't agree with you. Sonic Dream Team was controversial because people were mad at the game for being Apple Arcade exclusive, the reception of the game overall was pretty positive. If the issue people have with a game is the platform it is on, it doesn't make sense to blame the game itself. When it comes to Sonic Superstars. First, the game was not as good as the competitors, it was released in a very competitive period and 2D Sonic has less commercial appeal to the general audience. Classic Sonic fans will hate me for that, but this is just the truth. This is the reason Sega insists so much in 3D Sonic, despite many people complaining 3D Sonic is not as good as the classic games and blablabla. They just sell more copies, because casuals think 3D games are more appealing, kids thing a 3D Sonic game is more appealing than a classic 2D game. So it just sells more. Even Sonic Mania, sold just as much as Sonic Forces. That means, one of the most popular 2D Sonic games of recent years have sold just as much as one of the less popular 3D Sonic games. This just shows that the demand for 3D game is higher. Sonic Superstars didn't sold that well because of that. Simples as that. "But Super Mario Wonder sold millions of copies". Mario is actually the opposite, 2D Mario usually sells more copies than 3D Mario. New Super Mario Bros Wii sold way more copies than Mario Galaxy, for example. When it comes to Sonic, 3D is stronger in terms of sales. Sonic Frontiers is the biggest selling 3D Sonic game, despite its flaws. It's a huge contrast. The only thing that sold poorly in terms of Sonic recently was Sonic Superstars and you are basically saying Sonic as a whole is selling poorly and no one cares about Sonic anymore. What the heck. People are not hyped for the mobile games yet because they are just rumors, Sega hasn't announce the games, they don't have any gameplay footage, etc. And you are just supposing people are not hyped, because you haven't done any proper research to see if people are interested or not. Yes, they come from reliable source, yes, these games are definetly real, but without trailer, without images and gameplay, it doesn't have the same impact on people's hype
Forces was on sale for like 5 bucks, that's why it sold so much. Just go ahead and say that you hate 2d Sonic lil buddy, Mania is still objectively the best Sonic game till this day.
@@nanasenoah8139 "that's why it sold so much" - That's the thing, it didn't. It didn't sell that well by itself and compared to frontiers, for example, it sold terribly. Keep something in mind: sonic mania is beloved in the sonic community as a good game - but nobody cares about it outside of the community. The things we like about mania hold no value to the average customer.
@@With2Ls its not only the sonic game either its EVERY netflix game you can download it but as soon as you open it it says you have to have an account to play
I am glad we are getting so many new Sonic games in such a short period of time but my only concern is if Sega is going after quantity over quality and I hope they take their time and make sure each game is ready before it gets released.
The arr good making mobile games not buggy Like sonic dash and sonic 4(even though the psychics are bad, but its because they used the rush engine which makes it bad on purpose)
@@bluemike1215I think Sonic 4 was meant to be a mobile title to begin with which explains the way it handles. All those moves are slow and easy to pull off if it were linked to touch screen. It's also not overly animated and doesn't have a lot going on at the same time. It even released on Android. It was waaaay too pricey though for a mobile game, especially since they split it up the way they did. I wasn't crazy about it but i know a guy who would defend that game to the end. lol
This is the same mistake they made in the mid-late 2000s. They were shoving out as many ideas as possible and overworking their developers to the point that Sonic became a laughing stock. It wasn't until Colors and Generations came out that sentiment began to change.
@@Horglerthey weren't ideas so much as a bunch of cheap gimmicks. All of them were used on Sonic like he was just a generic mascot character. Switch Sonic with any cartoon character and nothing would change. That goes for Sonic and The Black Night, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic and the Secret Rings, ect. IT DOES NOT MATTER. Look at Sonic from the Genesis to the Dreamcast, it was consistent and felt like it was part of Sonic. Sonic 2006 was generic af. It was about a princess in a kingdom that had to keep herself from crying or some crap. It wasn't anything like a Sonic story. I hate the pacification of the series since the dark age. It treats Sonic as a generic character you can slap into any game with little to no care at all. Sonic should be shonen, dammit!
Call this my tinfoil hat, but Sonic Team keeps making 'pieces' of an adventure title. Playable trio here, playable Shadow there on the same engine, a fishing minigame here, a test Chao garden there, open zone for hubworlds... it's like they're testing features with every new title with an end goal in mind.
You didn't mention Chu Chu Rocket Universe, a Sega game that was delisted from the Apple Arcade store and now is lost to time. I do hope that game does get ported though.
Seen a lot of Sonic fans look at new games as “main” releases or experimental spinoffs based on the gameplay. Secret Rings and Black Knight have great stories, but we know what people think about them. It’s the same reason we get more Unleashed apologists as time passes. What was once “experimental” became one of the best examples of the series’ future developments.
leaker: new game with a chao garden me: ayo real shit? leaker: it's a spin-off mobile game me: i sleep man i dont caaaaare about mobile games i just want the chao garden back in a mainline console game
@dabusiness4988 if that was what they wanted why go exclusive and limit your reach ? in the U.S. iOS: 62.13% Android: 37.47% which is roughly 300m people. compaired to the 4 billion global score of phone users it goes Android: 67.56% iOS: 31.6%
From 2005-2010 off the top of my head, I don’t know the date of most of the handheld games so I’m sure I’ll be way off but lemme try - Shadow The Hedgehog - Sonic Rush - Sonic Rivals - Sonic Advance 2 - Sonic Advance 3 - Sonic Riders - Sonic 06 - Sonic and The Secret Rings - Sonic Rivals 2 - Sonic Rush Adventure - Sonic Chronicles - Sonic Unleashed - Sonic Riders Zero Gravity - Sonic and The Black Knight - Sonic Free Riders - Sonic Colors (Does Sonic Colors DS count..?) And I have no idea about the last one
Also they haven't been publicly announced 😭😭😭 why is everyone expecting public information for something the official sonic accounts haven't even mentioned yet
Not trying to be rude but.. who gives a shit if people aren't getting excited over leaks? If SEGA gives the development houses the proper time to develop these games and they're good, they'll garner the audience they need anyway. Do I want Sonic games to sell more? Yes, however, I only care about mainline, Sonic Team, developed titles. As a VERY long time Sonic fan, I'm loving where the franchise is now and generally have never "hated" a mainline game. SEGA would do well with throwing more man power and hiring more staff for development..other than that..they got the direction right.
Look, the difference between Sega releasing a TON of Sonic games back then and doing so now is simple: The hardware. Sonic games on handheld devices such as the GBA, DS, and PSP were games you could pick up, own, play, trade, and sell at your leisure. The platforms they were on were dedicated pieces of gaming hardware, designed with gaming in mind. The games themselves were products that can be accessed even to this day (physical or emulation). Sonic games on mobile device apps such as Apple Arcade or what have you, are tied directly to the app, and if said app shuts down, say goodbye to those games. Long story short, these new games on mobile devices will forevermore be tied to a service that people are caring less and less about. And once the service is done (or once the games are removed for whatever reason), there will be no future players of the game. If there's one thing that the gaming community loves to do, it's go back and play games they missed out on the first day and discover a possible new favorite. Live service apps disallow that. Plus, there's a startling amount of people that still don't like mobile gaming, even if they've accepted it as a valid form of the medium.
Dream Team was reviewed positively by majority of the people that played it. The only reason the fanbase is mad about it is due to the fact SEGA made it an Apple Arcade Exclusive, thus robbing a bunch of their playerbase a chance to play it because they don't have or want an Apple device to play it on. Sonic Superstars is also not received poorly, it just has a mixed reception due to some of the flaws it has being a dealbreaker to some people and the fact it was overshadowed by other games released in the same timeframe, especially Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
While I do not have all the details with the leaks and the concepts of the 3 new games coming out, I feel hype for them will actually build up when people actually see a trailer for them. Speaking personally, I could get excited for a new Digimon, Kingdom Hearts, Tekken, Halo, Gears of War, God of War, and many others to come out, but until I actually see what form they take in the first trailer (or more if first trailer fails to sell me and risk seeing spoilers) they are just concepts, ideas, and potential plot threads that can be explored. I really hope these games get the same levels of excitement Frontiers had during it's build up and release, but until a trailer comes out, it's not really worth stressing over how hyped or not other people are right now. After all, that is just going in with high expectations, with more times than not in most series making the game fail.
I think you are the first person to discuss these topics lingering in the back of my mind. And I've noticed you becoming more technologically aware recently. That makes me happy. You're getting better and better at your job that the 200K subscriber count from what I'm seeing here is well deserved when you hit it.
@@itayoo1016 bringing back wasted potential such as dark sonic, metal sonic's appearances, REAL villains, and I'd probably give the series a SLIGHTLY darker story since they look like they're going backwards with that 💀
1:16 You say 2005-2010... but you show games from 2002 and 2003 lol, I mean if we are talking 2002 and 2003 too I bet I could name a vast majority of them, 05-10 though... a bit more difficult... Shadow, 06, Secret Rings, Black Knight, Unleashed, and Colors, cause 2011 would've been Generations the 20th anni, since 06 was 15 and Adventure 2 the 10th anniversary. You said ignoring ports buuut... what about certain games like Colors 3ds? Where it might be a completely different game? Same is true of Generations 3ds, although we did establish that was after 2010, just using as another example (and hoping it gets pushed into the remake coming this year in some way, Mushroom Hill, that Rush stage, the Egg Emperor boss, we already know Biolizard boss is in it from the trailer so think it's possible). Ok so that's 6... Rush and Rush Adventure, do Mario & Sonic Olympic games count? If so that's 3 more, being that olympics are every 2 years, Beijing was 2006, winter games I believe Vancouver was 2008 then another summer in 2010 (forgot where). As for Playstation exclusives, like Rivals I can't speak for certain, but assuming the 2 rival games were in that general vicinity and time frame. Riders 1 was I believe the last role of the original Dr Eggman voice actor and in 200... 6 maybe, and Riders 2 Zero Gravity, Free Riders maaaybe since it was also before Generations (with the song Free being in Generations) meaning it either also came out in 2011 before Generations or before then. Ok so... 4 main series, the storybook trilo- I mean duology, 3 riders, 2 rivals, and 2 Rush games. That's 11, 14 if the Olympics do count... I'm not sure when Battle and Advance 3 came out, they might be on the border, I feel they came out before 2005 but not sure, they were after Heroes which was also before 2005, 2003 or 4 I believe... oooh wait Chronicles, so that's 12 or 15... you said not counting ports so I'm also not counting the Taxman and Stealth CD, 1, and 2 remakes, or PS2/Wii Unleashed vs PS3/X Box 360 Unleashed they are 1 game for all intensive purposes. Nor Smash Bros Brawl... Do the car racing games count? If so maybe the 1st one? Not Drift or Drift 2, the newer car racing ones, Sega All Star Racing?... Alright I'm done, if I missed any then I'm a failure.
the list on screen might've gone too far up but I assure you I didn't count those. There IS technically 15 because the wiki counted Sonic X Majesco too (which I wouldn't)
@@TheSonicShow Ok lol, figured just found it funny, how did I do though? Did look up Heroes and Advance 3 just to make sure because I thought they were before 2005, and I only did so after I posted the comment. Did I pass the test Teach?
mannn... When I heard about the Chao game I was so excited, I thought they wer finally doing what I thought was a good idea, which is a mobile chao garden that connects to future games and so on where you basically have the sa2 chao garden on your phone, but nahhhh.. it's a netflix original :(
Frontiers, Superstars, or Dream Team?... pleeeease lol, Sonic fans have been saying that for way longer. Ever since Shadow and 06 dawned our doorsteps fans have always looked for an up, and even when we get one like Generations they only goof things up immediately after. the oldest of Sonic fans, are unsurprised lol. Not to say those titles are bad, and if you do think they have issues and flaws that's fine, I believe in no game is without flaws as much as no game is without its ups, nothing is perfect, even the greatest games in all of existence have flaws. Just saying I've never been one for saying oh yeah this is the era Sonic comes back. It's a roller coaster, ups downs, corkscrews like Unleashed maybe where it's 1/2 good 1/2 bad, loop da loops, all sorts of things.
No cheating, I'm gonna try to list all 16 games from 2005-2010. rush shadow riders sonic genesis (gba) 06 secret rings rivals rush adventure mario and sonic riders zero gravity unleashed rivals 2 dark brotherhood black knight mario and sonic winter olympics sonic and sega all stars racing free riders colors Somehow I ended up with 18 so i'm assuming he's not counting the olympic games. Anyways this was a humbling experience for me LMAO

This might be just me, but another issue i think is that Sega is so long past overdue on a lot of this stuff that people dont really care anymore. No matter who you are if you wanted a Chao Garden game for a decade i dont think thats something thats gonna be on your mind anymore. Also, the reality is that SOnic as a franchise is like a decade behind, and especially now where things are moving faster then ever, these games Sega is planning have to be really good, great even to have staying power, but this is Sega were talking about here, as much as i want them to do good and improve and legitimately compete on the market, im just not confident in their management. Theres great talent at Sega being held back by frankly sometimes incompetent choices. But i hope i get proven wrong, i want to be wrong. But as things stand right now theres a long road ahead for them to catch up.
I think the Lack of Hype has more to do with the platforms that games are Initially for. Once the ports for all of the main platforms come out we'll see more enthusiasm. In my case for example. I want to play Sonic Dream Team but I am not getting an Apple arcade subscription for it. So I am just going to wait a bit fo it to come to PC.
We'll only get a Sonic Dream Team DX: Director's Cut on PC, and it'll be a buggy mess that SEGA will use as the basis for all future releases instead of the good one. Then they'll decide people don't like it because the game is bad and not their poor choices, and give us another boost game with 55% 2D Sonic, 45% also 2D Sonic but with a boost and 100% automation. I love SEGA, but they're stupid like that.
11:35 hmm... Relatively speaking, if an overclocked Switch is basically a GT 920MX while the Xbox 360 is about... A GT 730? Not very different in terms of performance but compared to 2005's ATI Terascale, Nvidia's Maxwell 2.0 architecture has the edge for stability and power consumption. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, no matter how much hard the 360 tries to keep up with some overclocking shenanigans enthusiasts might try on them.
I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the people hating on sonic stuff recently have been mainly people that are either new to the franchise or simply hate it because it’s popular and yes I know there are problems here and there but most of the time it’s people who probably don’t even play the games or watch the movies/shows that basically nit pick at things they have no context for
As someone who does play other games, Superstars and Dream Team are great. Secondly, the reason there's no hype for Mobile game leaks is because we have no idea what to expect yet. Hype will come with announcements and trailers. "A step in the right direction" is a valid thing to say about the current state of things, since things were going the 'wrong direction' for a long time. It's "a step" because we need to see multiple "steps" for confirmation that things are on the up and up. Which is to say i disagree. Sonic's looking good, so far.
@@TheSonicShow Thats the issue, the old farts see high subscription numbers and think "Oh it's a success, exclusivity works!" When in reality they could make so much more money if they had the game as accessible as possible, actively making your game harder to buy is the stupidest business move possible.
TL;DR: Why aren't things looking too good for Sonic right now. The leaked Sonic Mobile games(Chao Garden & Soccer, fall guys like)are exclusively mobile games. Not only limiting the player base, but not giving better options to play these games on Console & PC. Solution:Those games gotta release on other platforms like Steam, Switch, etc... The more people that can play these games the better & on bigger & greater platforms.
The problem isn't even the subscription services, but rather the form factor of mobile that fans don't like. Port to steam and switch, everyone's happy
@@TheSonicShow and I very much agree. The more people that can play, the better. But please forgive me as I've heard of this prospect a lot before, when Sonic Dream Team was announced. Still a good video though.
I've been researching the entire Sonic lore for the past 2 years so I'm pretty confident at my memory by now regarding the years of release of Sonic titles. If I'm not mistaken the 16 titles between 2005-2010 are: 2005- Shadow The Hedgehog, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Rush (3) 2006- Sonic Riders, Sonic The Hedgehog 06', Sonic Rivals (3) 2007 - Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic and The Secret Rings, Sonic Rivals 2 (3) 2008- Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Chronicles, Sonic Riders Zero Gravity (3) 2009- Sonic Colors, Sonic and The Black Knight (2) 2010- Sonic Free Riders, Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I (2)
To be fair, people were hyped for Sonic Frontiers the second it was announced to months after the final DLC, whereas Sonic X Shadow Generations came out and people said, "oh a Shadow DLC for Generations, neat." And that was it. They're definitely less hyped for the newer stuff, even if the hype is there. I think it's less that they're not hyped, and more that they're uncertain given how SEGA finds a good Sonic formula, then proceeds to dump it for a generic X to win game. People praised Frontiers as a step in the right direction, then suddenly, BOOM Classic Sonic in a 3D X to win game(again). So they're likely just concerned, and rightly so.
Yes, most of the content we’re getting right now is pretty bare bones, but the year practically just started and we were completely spoiled in 2022 and 2023, give them time to cook
1:27 1. shadow the hedgehog 2. sonic rush 3. sonic rivals 4. sonic 06 5. sonic riders 6. sonic and the secret rings 7. sonic rush adventure 8. sonic rivals 2 9. sonic riders: zero gravity 10. sonic unleashed 11. sonic and the black knight 12. sonic colors 13. sonic & sega all stars racing... getting kinda tough now, 14. sonic the hedgehog genesis, 15. sonic classic collection 16. sonic free riders shit, replace 14 and 15 with sonic 4 and sonic chronicles, i actually repressed their existences to the point where i mentioned a game collection and an equally shitty remake instead also, getting sick of hearing about "steps in the right direction", are we really ever gonna reach that end point at this rate? it's been 7 years, frontiers was the best we got, and for fucks sake, it was arguably as much of a step back as it was a step forward
I think the reason why people are losing interest in Sonic is because we had almost a decade of emptiness or content that was lacking until Frontiers came out. The 2010s was a hard time to be a Sonic fan because of the lack of "proper" Sonic gameplay style being utilised. And when we did get one it was bare bones with short overly scripted levels (Sonic Forces) and Forces was forgotten about quickly also, so from the time between 2015-2022 We had lack of content, and lack of updates for the future of Sonic. So naturally fans lost interest overtime and looked other places. Much like what happened with the dreamcast despite that technically being an amazing console for it's time. I like Sonic Boom's cartoon but I think Boom and lack of communication with fans definately made it hard to maintain a fandom at that point. I only remained a fan because of fan games otherwise I would've moved on during that 8 years of silence and waiting.
Oh right, there was a movie too in 2020, but for many Sonic fans it was so far off from what Sonic's icon and theme is (fantasy world with anthropomorphic characters, etc) that I think the fans of the games wasn't as interested. My only hope is that frontiers or what comes after that with the same formula will help rejuvenate the fandom or form a new generation of fans much like what Sonic Adventure did back in 1998 (1999 international)
@@BigBootyDutyI never said they weren't major sellers, they definately were, I enjoyed them. They were however far off from what the fans of the games wanted that it didn't maintain momentum for your usual fan, more so to casuals or the general audience.
Personal hot take. I might be hungry for the past saying this but Sega and Sonic has made games with identities that work, and that people have come to love. Examples: Sonic Adventure is what many fan games try to implement and improve on, Riders had its original game made into a better performance tournament edition, Sonic Rush implemented the boost and trick system and showed it could work effectively in 2D which later translated into 3D. However what Sega does is either go a drastically different direction in development of their next title or abandons game and story elements all together or rushes development leading to lackluster results. Sonic Adventure 2 abandoned open world, still an amazing game, but didn’t return to the concept in 3D till 06 and that was rushed and they were out of practice in the concept for sonic. Sonic riders: both next games went with almost totally different gameplay styles instead of improving on its established mechanics till the entire series (and its characters) were abandoned till the later mobile titles. The Rush story stopped cold in the games, even though its gameplay survived in modern Sonic games. And happens to be one of the most consistent things about the franchise to the point we burned out on the boost style. It’s like their too eager to try new stuff that it turns out meh because of rushing, double down on nostalgia till were burned out, and give up on the idea and concepts that work before they can really develop. In contrast the fact that Sega did make really good games with great concepts in and outside of sonic shows they could do it again. If Sonic Riders came back new maps expanded story enhanced gameplay based on the original concept but improved. If A Adventure style game, multiple big hub worlds new levels and reimagined old ones expanded characters selection possibly even character customization (essentially PSO2 but sonic Adventure style ((so many OC’s exits a online live service would be perfect for the MMORPG style in Sonics world). Rush: Focus on the story and characters could be brought back in the single player experience. Actually add mechanics that improve on the boost style instead of copy past, (and I know it can be done because the fan games already have.) Their are plenty of other examples but those are my prime ones of what they could do with the concepts they had that worked and if they simply added and improved on them instead of bouncing their ideas and games around, even game in the direct same series, like a pinball.
Actually, there were 27 original sonic games released between 2005 and 2010, if you count mobile games and the mario and sonic games. Yes, I did google it.
I think the main flaw as to why things aren't looking good is the exclusivity of these upcoming titles. Many people wish to experience them but most don't have the platforms or do not want to support them. I think ESPECIALLY the Chao Garden game exclusivity is a mistake, since many and I mean MANY people wanted a follow-up of the Chao Garden for a long time. It's just not a good idea to restrict certain games to certain platforms. I thought for a LONG time that exclusives were and always will be a terrible idea.
Being deep in the total war community, Sega made the right call with CA. Hyenas was growing so large, that CA's main franchise was suffering. Total War Warhammer 3 was facing a player revolt, and their main historical title was dead on arrival, and that while sales of total war warhammer and its dlc are what keeps CA alive. The studio was at a point where they either had to end the Total War series, or fully recommit, and Sega decided they had to recommit. That's why they killed Hyenas
Okay so I'm trying to reach the deepest reaches of my brain and if we're counting collections, collabs and separate incarnations for specific consoles released between 2005 and 2010 here's what I could come up with: - Sonic Gems Collection - Shadow the Hedgehog - Sonic Riders - Sonic Rivals - Sonic 1 (GBA) - Sonic 2006 - Sonic and the Secret Rings - Sonic Rush Adventure - Sonic Rivals 2 - Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing - Sonic Riders Zero Gravity - Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (Beijing 2008) - Sonic Unleashed (360/PS3) - Sonic Unleashed (PS2/ Wii) - Sonic and the Black Knight - Sonic Classics Collection (DS) - Sonic Colors (Wii) - Sonic Colors (DS) - Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games (Vancouver 2010) - Sonic Free Riders Sega All-Stars Racing may be pushing it, but Sonic is in the title unlike Sega Superstars Tennis which I was tempted to include as well. I feel like I'm missing a number of games too, but I know one of those was a Sega Genesis collection for PS3 and 360 and (I may be misinterpreting this) but there was also SA1 and 2 that released if memory serves me right. Anyway keep me honest and lemme know what I missed or what wouldn't count.
I grew up with Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush, they're easily some of my favorite games in the series. Rivals on PSP was okay at best but the levels needed to be more innovative and much less simple than they were. I also cant wait for Sonic Dream Team to go Multiplatform, it's really good and deserves a wider audience.

0:38 "and Confirmed from reliable source..." I don't think you fully understand what "Confirmed" means. Hint: It does NOT mean "reiterated by a rumor for clicks". It usually means "Confirmed from an OFFICIAL source such as the company itself or its CEO".
Yeah i did not like the name sonic toys party either but maybe it's better than the name choice of sonic x shadow sega what are you implying here?? oh no'z sonadow fans breathing down our neck lol plus another thing is if you're a tiny bit negative/critical of the blue hedgehog games people will label you a hater which is kinda uncalled for frontiers had it's shared problems before it got fixed except for popins for some reason still
I think what everyone is forgetting here is these games are primarily meant to attract new audience members. As weird as it maybe, Apple and Netflix are very large platforms where games exist and having Sonic there helps those platforms and more eyes on Sonic. Much like Dream Team this isn't the next big game so fans should treat these games as a way for Sega to build up an audience for their bigger budget games. Plus Apple & Netflix are paying for these as well so it's less money Sega has to invest themselves. Which saves resources for the mainline titles. Having said all that I do hope we get them on other platforms but if that happens I hope fans will put their money where their mouth is and buy said ports
Alright, here's my attempt to list the 16 Sonic games released between 2005-2010. Shadow the Hedgehog Sonic Rush Sonic Rush Adventure Sonic Riders Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity Sonic Rivals Sonic Rivals 2 Sonic '06 Sonic Unleashed Sonic and the Secret Rings Sonic and the Black Knight Sonic Colors Sonic 4: Episode I Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood Sonic Classics Collection Sonic Free Riders Hope I got it!
@MysticHat_Rayan No amount of expanding and patching up will fix how broken and dumb 06 story is. You need to make a WHOLE new game and heavily change things to make that trash works.
No, Creative Assembly should NOT revive Hyenas! That drag queen style is pure poison right now and SoJ was right to get them back on Total War. If you doubt me look at what happened to Spiderman 2 and Suicide Squad after Sweet Baby Inc. got their filthy mitts on them.
Hey, TSS! I hope you read this, I have a few points. First, I thought you were going to lead into the idea of a new SEGA handheld. Personally, I feel it's time. Something that mixes 3ds, gba, and psp, and doesn't try to be a AAA console. Sadly, you didn't. And if not that, then a SEGA gaming smartphone that does what the ROG phone tried to do. Second, Apple is bad. Apple, Epic, Sony; different day, same game: Exclusives are inherently wrong and hurt sales in the long run. Third, I feel like SEGA's current plan would benefit from an account system that isn't DRM. Instead of mtx, they could use a VIP system where buying more games increases your VIP exp like some indie MMOs did, and VIP levels give you access to extra games and other features. Mo money, no gacha. Finally, I hated Advance 3. .... I loved the Advance and Rush games and want to see their revival, but Advance 3 was 99.9% walls. Sonic is supposed to run, not crawl.

The gaming consolidation isn't as scary as it seems. The layoffs also suck, but.. there are more game devs floating around now than there have been in a long time. This is the kind of climate in which the AAA studios of the 2030s will be born
The reason why nobody is hyped for mobile games is pretty much in the name...they're mobile games, lol. Comparing old handheld games with gimmicky micro transaction filled junk thats standard now isn't rocket science.
Chao Garden would make for a better mobile game than a Fall Guys clone tbh. Make it like Pokemon GO but you find Chao eggs, hatch and raise them, and feed them power ups you find in different locations. You should be able to battle each other too with other people's Chao. You can even bring back Omochao to guide you with a tutorial if you need it.
Crazy 'cause I do have access to Netflix which indeed it will make it easier to take a slice of these games, but not a fan of Apple's devices (because wow I don't have money for them) will be at least a rock in the path. And also, isn't it because these games got any real trailers or bigger annoucements, that people are't that hyped? Like, to be completely honest I only knew these updates with your video from 11 days ago
To be fair with the other games releasing this year, they're exclusive to platforms that really aren't exactly the most exciting to pay for, considering how much people had to pay to even *access* Dream Team, and a variant of Sonic Dash for Netflix that is paywalled. Oh, a Chao game? Sounds nice, whoops- I accidentally spilled my Exclusive to Netflix tonic onto it! And to be fair, barely anyone even cares about Sonic sports games- if it's gonna be the same tried and true Olympics game released every Olympic event, I doubt people care as much about that as, oh, I don't know, a literal REMASTER of a very beloved game with additional content.
Sega is treating mobile gaming as if it were a replacement to portable consoles - which it is, to a point. The Rovio purchase has only made this clearer. Sega is fine.
I know it's not but if sega really wants to do the chao garden and the fallguys like, combine the 2 ideas and you've got a game everyone can enjoy (Written around the 4:30 mark)
hopefully they stop censoring the product, and figure out how to properly "censor" themselves where needed because "targeted audience" without harming their franchise. i recently found out what they did with SONIC X which i know is a TV show and not a video game. But if they're doing over censoring for a TV show it makes me wonder what censoring their doing for their video games. And this is "lore sensitive" stuff they're censoring that completely changes the context of perspectives.
Chao garden game to me implies the SA 1+2 Remakes are closer than we think, if they're coming indeed, cause i would expect that to be a companion piece to those, like you could have chao transferred to your gba, or even your sega memory card and take them on the go

Get this man a TRUE

Keep something in mind: sonic mania is beloved in the sonic community as a good game - but nobody cares about it outside of the community. The things we like about mania hold no value to the average customer.

I am glad we are getting so many new Sonic games in such a short period of time but my only concern is if Sega is going after quantity over quality and I hope they take their time and make sure each game is ready before it gets released.
Mobile games are usually smaller anyway. They could always do something like GBA remakes on Switch. That'd be kinda neat.
The arr good making mobile games not buggy
Like sonic dash and sonic 4(even though the psychics are bad, but its because they used the rush engine which makes it bad on purpose)

Playable trio here, playable Shadow there on the same engine, a fishing minigame here, a test Chao garden there, open zone for hubworlds... it's like they're testing features with every new title with an end goal in mind.
that's actually a really good point lmao
00:31 Sonic Dream Team certainly was not received "fairly poorly".
The problem is that apparently the game is damn good, but it's not a platform anyone will ever wanna use

@@benmalsky9834 Yeah, thanks for clearing it up!
We need a new Sonic Battle and a new Power Stone.
Honestly i would LOVE a mix between Sonic battle and Powerstone with elements of Sonic R. That would be incredible.
Sorry, the only Power Stone I know is the sh%tty Mega Man 5 weapon. :)
I feel like people aren't really excited for these games. Unless there a mainline game. That's canon and continues the story.
Wonder.
If a Sonic game does not have Chao Garden, it is not a step in the right direction and I will not buy it.
The intro cutscene to sonic unleashed and high quality sonic game will bring back the hype.
I want to see sonic be epic and semi serious again.
Fr like sonic unleashed remaster will bring the happiness and excitement that would bring back the fandom together
He was mostly serious in Frontiers. Deeper voice and everything. Perfection.

Difficulty setting should change game design and level design. This would have fixed Forces, Frontiers and superstars.
I've hardly heard any negativity about Dream Team.
Its a apple arcade exclusive
WHY IS IT NOT FOR ANDROID?!?!?!
@@bluemike1215 I mean about the game itself, not its availability.
“I’m an optimist, but also a realist” the white one
I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the people hating on sonic stuff recently have been mainly people that are either new to the franchise or simply hate it because it’s popular and yes I know there are problems here and there but most of the time it’s people who probably don’t even play the games or watch the movies/shows that basically nit pick at things they have no context for
Dream Team was restricted to Apple and Superstars was too expensive. End of story
Exclusivity benefits literally nobody, not publisher not developer and especially not gamer.
Exactly (altho it does benefit the subscription service but we don't like them anyways)
@@TheSonicShow Thats the issue, the old farts see high subscription numbers and think "Oh it's a success, exclusivity works!" TL;DR: Why aren't things looking too good for Sonic right now.

@@BestGirlsBiggestFan you’re right I’ve just checked! 2009 was an exception then it means. Only 1 game released there.
jaiden it is still too early to say that people are not hyped, most of the games have not even been mentioned properly yet, we should just wait more
To be fair, people were hyped for Sonic Frontiers the second it was announced to months after the final DLC, whereas Sonic X Shadow Generations came out and people said, "oh a Shadow DLC for Generations, neat." And that was it.
So they're likely just concerned, and rightly so.

also, getting sick of hearing about "steps in the right direction", are we really ever gonna reach that end point at this rate? it's been 7 years, frontiers was the best we got, and for fucks sake, it was arguably as much of a step back as it was a step forward
What about a voice for Shadow? Paramount, please. Tell us who will voice Shadow!!!!!!
To everyone asking what game the footage at the start of the video is from, It's called Rollin' Rascal.
@@alinafox2198 The Sonic movies are major sellers and are extremely popular, don't know what you mean there.
@@BigBootyDutyI never said they weren't major sellers, they definately were, I enjoyed them. They were however far off from what the fans of the games wanted that it didn't maintain momentum for your usual fan, more so to casuals or the general audience.
A step in the right direction for the hedgehog who takes thousands of them just to eat a chili dog.
Actually add mechanics that improve on the boost style instead of copy past, (and I know it can be done because the fan games already have.)
Their are plenty of other examples but those are my prime ones of what they could do with the concepts they had that worked and if they simply added and improved on them instead of bouncing their ideas and games around, even game in the direct same series, like a pinball.
Actually, there were 27 original sonic games released between 2005 and 2010, if you count mobile games and the mario and sonic games. Yes, I did google it.
It's like the best time for Sonic ever arguably so this is a strange af thumbnail and topic.
True this is concerning and what game are you playing in the background ??? 3:42
I am just spit-balling/venting lol.
Oh lol. I just watch all of the vid. I guess that's my bad then for jumping a gun a bit. I still think doing exclusives is ass however.
The video: Sonic the FREAKING hedgehog 😎👌
The footage: Rollin’ Rascal 🤩
Okay so I'm trying to reach the deepest reaches of my brain and if we're counting collections, collabs and separate incarnations for specific consoles released between 2005 and 2010 here's what I could come up with:
- Sonic Gems Collection
- Shadow the Hedgehog
- Sonic Riders
- Sonic Rivals
- Sonic 1 (GBA)
- Sonic 2006
- Sonic and the Secret Rings
- Sonic Rush Adventure
- Sonic Rivals 2
- Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
- Sonic Riders Zero Gravity
- Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (Beijing 2008)
- Sonic Unleashed (360/PS3)
- Sonic Unleashed (PS2/ Wii)
- Sonic and the Black Knight
- Sonic Classics Collection (DS)
- Sonic Colors (Wii)
- Sonic Colors (DS)
- Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games (Vancouver 2010)
- Sonic Free Riders
Sega All-Stars Racing may be pushing it, but Sonic is in the title unlike Sega Superstars Tennis which I was tempted to include as well.
FRIG! I FORGOT SONIC CHRONICLES!
The Sonic Show try not to make clickbait challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
I grew up with Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush, they're easily some of my favorite games in the series. Rivals on PSP was okay at best but the levels needed to be more innovative and much less simple than they were.
I also cant wait for Sonic Dream Team to go Multiplatform, it's really good and deserves a wider audience.

Ok thank you
0:38 "and Confirmed from reliable source..."
I don't think you fully understand what "Confirmed" means.
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Rush
Sonic Rush Adventure
Sonic Riders
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Sonic Rivals
Sonic Rivals 2
Sonic '06
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Sonic and the Black Knight
Sonic Colors
Sonic 4: Episode I
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood
Sonic Classics Collection
Sonic Free Riders
Hope I got it!
im gonna persist on trying to play sonic x shadow generations and nobody is gonna stop me
Good luck! 👍
I'll be honest, I hope they remake Sonic 06
I'm not sure if that'll be a good thing or a bad thing to be honest.
Same.
@MysticHat_Rayan
No amount of expanding and patching up will fix how broken and dumb 06 story is.
I hate to say it,, but frankly I just have way past too much trouble giving a damn
YES

The gaming consolidation isn't as scary as it seems. The layoffs also suck, but.. there are more game devs floating around now than there have been in a long time. This is the kind of climate in which the AAA studios of the 2030s will be born
Cool Video, I think that the Sonic games are in GOOD Hands for right now. IF ONLY SEGA ACTUALLY DOES GIVE THEIR EMPLOYEES TIME.
Sonic Battle full 3D remake but instead of 2D it's 3D free roam stages, maybe call it "Sonic Battle DX" or "Sonic Battle Xtreme"
Man thats crazy. Sonic superstars is actually a really good game
People aren’t hyped because 1 game is Netflix and the others are mobile games.
I know it's not but if sega really wants to do the chao garden and the fallguys like, combine the 2 ideas and you've got a game everyone can enjoy
(Written around the 4:30 mark)
hopefully they stop censoring the product, and figure out how to properly "censor" themselves where needed because "targeted audience" without harming their franchise.
i recently found out what they did with SONIC X which i know is a TV show and not a video game.
