I think it’s important to understand that Cynthia is a British Black Queer Woman, born to a Nigerian immigrant family. Her cultural experiences are unique and her responses are unique. They are also valid responses, even if they are not consistent with your responses. Imagine how violating the AI alteration which covered her face could be for her with her life experience where everything is taken away and invalidated. It may have been innocent but it was incredibly insensitive and oblivious to her experience and frankly to the core of the story in this film. She’s not accepted in Nigeria. She’s not accepted in the UK. She’s not accepted by mainstream Hollywood. So I get it. I know exactly why she responded so fiercely because I too come from an “other” experience and I have a lifetime of being diminished, of being “othered”, of being pushed aside for who I am. Let it go. Get offended by someone within your own tribe. She’s not in yours. Let it go.
listening to her talk about elphie and how she wanted to take care of her.. i understand her outrage against the edit.. but 2 things can be true, the fan did nothing wrong personally.
And folks themselves are overreacting too it’s not really that serious and she’s been treated harshly by so called “fans” ever since she was announced as Elphaba that’s why folks started editing her out and some even said that they think the musical will flop since the poster didn’t do a great homage to the broadway poster to wicked
@@donovan311 was not focusing on him, but OK, he didn't even feel 'hurt' even though he was harrassed by Cynthia and her fans. I was asking abt cynthia since she was the one making all the noise on how offended and hurt she was and she said it was 'so bad' that it is on par with other actual AI & sexist online stuff abt her. Lol. What a way to tank your own film.
@@coffeemug3009 The film is going to do more than fine, with or without the support of people like you. Already breaking records in presale tickets and will only continue to do so once official reviews are released. This very small IG story debacle DOES NOT MATTER. I know you wish it did :( but it doesn't.
@@donovan311 sure, they said the same with joker 2. Until it wasn't. We still don't know how good or bad the film is compared to the og Broadway. Also, it still doesn't mean her arrogance, out of touch action of demeaning og Broadway fan art is excusable. Just give the movie such a bad taste.
That standing ovation to the trailer brought tears to my eyes
Yay! So glad yall shared this. Being there was surreal!

Is she still offended and hurt by the innocent fan made edit of the poster?
The "innocent fan" is a grown man and he's fine.
