Maybe you or thay use wrong grease. I have tried high temperature grease it works. I try burn the grease it don't even melt unlike normal grease melt and turn harder.
Rotor face has holes on them, covered it so water won't get through. But there is better way to clean the rotor shaft. I posted a video about that. About the harness, you can clean the coil by brush or air compressor.

Grease will get dry and it will stuck up again. Light oil will do because there is an oil foam in the bushing holder.

Why do you cover the rotor face with masking tape? How did you clean the copper wire harness?
