never heard of bookshare since in order to redistribute books you need permission from author or the works need to be in the public domain. I know openlibrary does this and is supported by microsoft but there's been a lot of takedowns

If it's a registered 501c3 not for profit you can get community service hours. I signed many community service sheets for those court ordered to do volunteer work. We've had several people that volunteered their time working with our homeless advocacy Ministry... "Helping Our Homeless Ministries" to complete a specified number of hours of their CS requirement per court order. Also, students include their volunteer work on their college admissions applications or they on their resumes and employment sites. I also have been court ordered to CS too. So, I guess I have some experience regarding this topic. Wishing you well!
