My younger sister died last Wednesday, it was sudden, she was only 54 - I've decided to spend Christmas alone as has my Mum. We don't want to be 'jolly-jolly' we just want to spend a peaceful day... not solemn, just alone. Time to reflect, relax, and watch TV.
We lost our Mom in January 2022. Never been the same since but hoping to have a good Christmas. Big hugs to you and your family xxx

Can be a bit tricky to volunteer only for Christmas Day so then can feel sad if cannot find a place even to volunteer. One solution. If friends are going to visit someone in seniors home offer to go along and visit including seniors there who are not expecting a visitor. Staff might know someone. Or go along with friends and play some cards/game and tell them they are cheering you up. For safety senior’s home needs to know you are connected to someone they know. Asking churches if they are visiting Xmas Day somewhere great idea!
For Liz...You need to find the true love of your life. This man would be with you 100% if he was "the love of your life!" I suggest looking at why you are doing this to yourself?
