    ___________________ Electronic video magnifiers (CCTVs) are very expensive, but if you have a smartphone or even a tablet, you can use it as a CCTV with a magnifier app. To make it hands free, you can use this stand to hold your device as you magnify books, crafts, tools, mail, packaged food items, and so much more.

    I bought one of those when I first became visually impaired. I also bought a frame that was just glass inside an added a map magnifier. The one the size of a page. I did it in hopes that I could still play card games with the fam. However it did not work for me. But I use my holder for lots of other things. Especially filming.
    Just thought you'd like to know Carrie I don't know about your state but in my state we have a store called Five Below where everything is $5 or less. They sell those in that store. Exactly the same as what you have in your video.
    Awesome video Carrie once again being the everyday Tech savvy person that you are.

    I must have one of these. I crochet, but have to wear heavy thick reading glasses, otherwise I can’t see my stitches.
    There’s lamps that have magnifiers, but the magnification isn’t strong enough for me. At least with this I don’t have to buy expensive equipment, as I’m essentially using what I have already.

      Hey Keya!!!! Nice to hear from you. Yes, you could definitely try it out for crocheting and for a lot of other things. It's really a great tool when you want to sit down and do something for a longer time. By the way, hope you and your boyfriend are doing well! :)

    Great as always. They didn’t have anything like this when I had usable vision so super cool it’s available now for folks

    Great information Karey! I agree with Chris, blind grilling, these are pretty cool stands and I wish they, along with the smart phone of course, were around when I used my cc TV. I was a CCTV user for at least 25 years and would have used one longer, if they were not so expensive, just like you explained. This stand is simple but it would be so necessary to use Winn magnifying almost everything. Love your information and your instructions exclamation point

      Hi Beverly! Thanks for watching and your comments as always. Yes, it's great to have all this technology and different options. We can agree that they are so super expensive and so that's why I try to come up with ways to work with things that are mainstream. Thanks always for your support. Did you see my other commnet about if you're interested in doing a video interview with me?

    This was such a great video! I actually never even thought of getting a stand like that for my phone, so I definitely learned something new!
    I use iOS, and they actually have a built-in magnifier option in their Accessibility settings (under Zoom, I believe). Enabling that calls up the phone's standard camera, but it's locked into photo mode and is automatically zoomed in when enabled. I've found using that as opposed to just opening up the camera and zooming in manually is a world better because it doesn't make whatever the lens is pointing at all grainy.

      Thanks! Yes, it is an awesome stained in a lot cheaper than getting a CCTV. and yes! They have the magnifier on iOS! I did a video all about It a few weeks ago. ☺️ it's a pretty neat because you can also do a lot of different color filters and change the brightness and contrast in everything.

    HI CARRIE.
    THANKS FOR ANOTHER AWESOME VIDEO. I WAS WONDERING, WHAT SIZE TABLET OR PHONE DOES THIS SUPPORT? THANKS. WHAT SIZES CAN SOMETHING LIKE THIS SUPPORT?

    • @LiveAccessible
      @LiveAccessible  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Stephen! This one can support from 4 point something inches to 10.5 in. There are a lot of them out there, but I really like this one! ☺️

      Thank you so much @King Shahan! Yes, it works pretty well when you want to sit down and do something. Much better than holding up your phone up for an extended amount of time. Thank you for watching and ysupportive comment. 👍

    I've used magnifier apps when I need to read very tiny print. It's a much more affordable solution to spending a grand on one of those Pebble magnifiers or a CCTV

    • @LiveAccessible
      @LiveAccessible  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's absolutely right! And I also really liked it because I always have my phone. That way I don't have to carry another device. Thanks so much Frank! ☺️

    Do you know of any apps for OCR? It would be nice to have a magnified / OCR app.

    • @LiveAccessible
      @LiveAccessible  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      THere are many apps! :) Like KNFB reader, Seeing AI, Envision AI, Speak, Eye-D, and LookOut to name a few. But none of them have a real great integration with a magnifier at the same time though. It would be awesome to have that though!

      I use Filmora and I use a screen magnifier called Zoomtext with it. :)
