This winter was quite cold. The lowest temperature here in Lapland was - 51,2 degrees celsius... It was very beautiful with all that blue/red/yellow and frosty looking sky.. "There are no cold weather, only bad clothing" well at -50 it's better to inhale some warm clothes for the lungs because breathing can be quite an experience... It hurts if your inhale to fast 🥶

Yes, it is definitely something you need to get used to! 😄🥶 I can imagine how cold -50 must be..

I went to look at the statistics of the Finnish Meteorological Institute. Winter 23-24 cold record at Enontekiö airport -44.3 celsius on January 5, 2024. How hard the cold feels on the skin depends so much on the humidity of the air and wind speed (there is a table for that). Fortunately, in Finland, the air during severe frosts is dry and does not get so extreme. I really wouldn't want to live south of the Great Lakes. If -50 degrees Celsius air would blow from the northern parts of Canada and cross the ice-free Great Lakes, Finland's worst frosts would be easy.

Elves have horrible working conditions, yikes :D. Guess moving constantly and enough breaks helps.
