- It doesn't take long to discover that I like to present information and footage that challenges popular assumptions. Well, lest the title mislead you this video is not intended to challenge assumptions about race. Rather, it's meant to underscore a different point I made recently. Some people didn't like it, but that made it no less true:
At no point during a traffic stop is the person who has been stopped legally entitled to know the officer's reason for the stop. A reason must exist and the officer may be required to defend the stop in court, but when officers explain why someone has been stopped it's not because they have to.
One or two comments in response went so far as to say that 'no officer is getting my ID until they tell me why they pulled me over.' That. Is. A. Bad. Idea.
It's possible that I am wrong, but you'll have to do better than simply stating "You're wrong!" Post the statute that obligates a police officer, upon request, to inform someone of the reason they were stopped. That's it. Easy. Unless it doesn't exist...
Anyway, in discussing the matter I mentioned that most police officers are in fact trained to positively identify the subject of a traffic stop BEFORE providing the reason for the stop. I explained that the officer wants to know who they are dealing with in case that person decides to run, and added that people are more likely to stop cooperating and challenge an officer once they know what they have been accused of.

The cop says she was doing 60 in a 35. I've been legitimately pulled over for speeding (not anywhere near that much over though) and I wanted to make things as easy as possible in the hopes the cop would cut me a break. I've gotten a couple of warnings and a ticket written for 5 over when I'd really been over by 10. Sometimes being cooperative goes pretty far.
I'm also confused about her constantly saying she worked "from 10 to 12". Are we supposed to believe she's exhausted from her grueling 2 hour shift?

I got pulled over one time for not stopping at a stop sign, which I did, cop said do you know why I pulled you over, I said cause I’m Mexican, he said excuse me I said I’m traveling not driving he said WHAT, I watch skit of those videos and told him I was just kidding and I knew I ran the stop sign , he shook his head and said get out of here and drive safe and laugh all the way to his car, he’ll be telling that story for a long time 😂😂

I work patrol. It's impossible to tell the race of anyone at night time. Just about the same for day shift. Everyone has tinted windows nowadays and I'd say 90% of stops are advised as unknown occupants. You can usually advise a person count during daytime hours. But at night, forget it. Put that in your pipes and smoke it!

Julian Valenti I got a ticket for going 68 in a 40 and the cop was going the same speed because I was matching his speed, stupid I know because I didn’t notice it was a cop, and when he turned around in front of me he had failed to signal. I was still respectful because even though the cop was a dick and still gave me a ticket it would’ve just made it worse honestly I can deal with one ticket vs something else they’ll try to charge me with.
That’s actually reckless driving and is terms for arrest.

Lo Ko She noted that he was following, obviously she slowed down after that observation. He made an estimate of the speed as officers are trained to do.

As a BW who’s had her license for 10 years, I’ve only gotten pulled over like 4 times and every time they let me go without a ticket. They just ask me to explain why I did whatever and I’m honest. #5.50" i got behind her i ran her tag the she was speeding and not maintain a lane so i followed her to a parking lot" ! not she was doing 60 so i put on my lights and pulled her over because she was driving dangerously and could have potentially caused an accident . questions the supervisor t should have asked! why did you run her tag before she started speeding (60 mph in a 30 mph that's dangerous driving !). why did you wait till she stopped of her own accord in a parking lot ? why did she start speeding after you was behind her (i'm sure most black people notice when a cop car is behind them )
