Oh wow! You had a day! Glad that you got there on time for the poor chicken, it's a miracle how she is still alive! Make sure you hydrate and eat! Good thing you are having the books out tomorrow and help on Friday! It's going to be fun and very productive, I hope! Blessings 🙏💞
So happy you were able to save that chicken. The brooder is a great hospital for her, plenty of room to move around if she feels like it. Thanks for sharing your day.
On the homestead it never ends. You go from crisis to must do to crisis to must do right this minute or something will die. It is draining. So many lives depend on our decisions, money and stamina.
If you get some disposable aluminum pie pans, you can make a hole in each one, then attach it by a string to a stick or something. As the wind moves it, the enemy gets scared away.
Couldn’t agree more. They have arranged all those chicken coops and runs so beautifully. And yes, it looks like good planning and a heck of a lot of sweat equity when in their place. I will be so happy for them when they get to move inside the house!! I think they will love and they sure do deserve it!🫶
What a miracle you were there to save that poor chicken, Nate. Those roosters at the end of the vlog were quite handsome. Hope they find a new home instead of the freezer. 😊
I hope the hen makes a full recovery. We have that problem with hawks. Dogs do help if they are near but one other thing that helps is encouraging crows. Not sure about falcons but the crows harass any hawks that come close. We feed them roasted unsalted peanuts in the shell. That seems to get the crows to nest closer to our property. They alert even when other predators are near. My dogs have now picked up on their alarm call. I guess that is not too surprising as they also seem to be able to tell the difference between the guineas being loud and their distress call too. Let us know how the scarecrow works.
U have a lot on ur plate just take it one day at a time there’s no need to hurry take ur time n think about what u plan to do Many blessings from North Texas❤
I’m so glad you were able to save the poor chicky chic. Sometimes you can have a basic plans for the day, then have other things come up that you have to deal with. That’s why I just go with the punches. And eventually the original plans get accomplished. Homesteading is a WAY different life compared to a working 9-5 life, always rushing to get to work rushing to get home, rushing to do chores and to hurry make dinner take a shower and off to bed to do it all over again. I’ve done that for almost 25 years of working. And I had just retired this past year, I had to learn a different way of life that there is not rushing here and there anymore. It was nice at first but I found myself getting antsy that I should be doing something and going somewhere. Or like did I forget to do something today. So I had to learn to take a deep breath relax and just go with the flow. I am excited for your house demo project. I’ve always loved watching other TH-camrs doing them and find it interesting and I learn a lot watching the videos. Have a good night take care.
Nate, that's what I found when I started re-lyte from Redmond real salt. I no longer have leg cramps, and it keeps me hydrated. I'm glad you found something that is helping you. 😊
I sure enjoy watching your channel. Love the openness of the front view now. So happy miss chicken is seeing another day 😊 I swear my granddog River (golden retriever) is same as Kinsley 🤦♀️ … if it smells bad AND she can get dirty … it’s like a bonus to her 😮
Drama never ends with animals, does it, my friend?😏 Should get yourself some all beef meat sticks for a bit of quick protein when you firget to eat, Nate. I hear PaleoValley makes really good ones. I always reach for a slice of cheese when i forget to eat, or a banana with nut butter. Take care of yourself, Nate. Blessings to you!

Nate, your property and farm looks amazing. And I know how much heavy work went into that. Not to mention the work on your house. Well done sir!

I’m glad you were able to save the chicken. I hate it when animals attack my birds but I guess it’s all part of farming 😢.
