Yeah but this whole game IS audio based. A good thing can come out of it but when an AUDIO based game has visual cues.. people are just gonna use it and take advantage of it. So yeah, basically a cheat.
What is the problem with all that “Cheating” talking everyone does about Deaf mode? Its a on/off option. Its something to help Deafs and Hard of hearing players through the game, if you don't want, don't use it. “There are people out of this category using for easy wins” And why do you care? Since when did this become competitive by any means? It's a Roblox PvE game that you can choose to challenge yourself or receive a little help, someone who doesn't need it but still uses this option is the way they prefer to experience the game. I thought these types of discussions were over with the Minecraft KeepInventory thing a long time ago.
Speed runners can abuse this system. It's like being perfectly fine in terms of health and parking in a disabled spot. It's something added for those who need it.
As a person who has a loud household, i like this feuture alot although i could get myself some headset and put it on my head my playing i still suffer especially from wall dwellers or pinkie, really glad they added this.
People are saying this is op but I always play pressure during discord calls with my friends and with all the noise it’s impossible to hear pinkie or anything like that, same with wall dwellers and other sound only entities.
Also I don't mean I win every match I still die almost EVERY time to pinky chainsmoker and sometimes wall dwellers. So I still play with my frien a lot
Well, something I noticed is that, yeah, the deaf system can help a little to identify which entity is it, but the sound of the entities is really more evident and louder even if the entity is far away, and this system shows you more evidently what entity is it when its really close, so, i imagine that, depending 100% on this mechanic, like trying to beat the game but your speakers don't work, can help but you notice it a lot more...late, making some parts needing a quick reaction, but I think this can help a little, but listen to the sound is still a better solution, well, i'm my opinion, because it give you more reaction time
i don't really see what the drama around this is??? it's just an accessibility feature. yeah, if your hearing is normal it kinda feels like cheating but it's a feature. it's supposed to help disabled people manage. this does not mean that using it as a hearing person is inherently wrong. yes it can make the game easier for people who hear. but. like. it's not an inherent evil. elevators and ramps help people who can't walk get around but it doesn't mean people who can walk shouldn't use them because it's easier. gluten free food mainly became a big thing so celiacs can eat but someone who isn't celiac can still eat em normal. etcetc
I’m not deaf, but I’m hard of hearing and this feature allows me ti enjoy the game without dieing on door 16. Some people don’t understand that not every feature is specifically made for you,but that doesn’t mean you can’t use it.
Exactly, the way people react to this is like saying "we shouldn't have walking sticks because people who can walk normally will have an easier time walking", they completely disregard the people who need features like this and couldn't play without them

You can distinguish different Anglers based on their sound or certain visual cues (I assume your hearing is perfectly fine judging by your comment) Angler - You should know. Blitz - Its movements are quiet but you can tell it's Blitz if the lights flicker TWICE. Pinkie - Very easy to distinguish from the others, literally echoes of screams and the lights don't flicker. Froger - She is pretty hard to distinguish from the others if you're only relying on sound, but if you see an Angler going back after passing, then it is a Froger. Chainsmoker - Slowest Angler variant, his movements sound like chains rattling. Not an Angler variant but putting Door 30 here just to let you know. Pandemonium - Sounds like distorted music / metal scraping. Specifically, the soundtrack "It Wakes" from Iron Lung, you can search it up to get an idea of what Pandemonium sounds like when moving. If Pandemonium sees you and becomes agitateed, it will scream like crazy. Idk if you have hearing issues but if you do, then use Deaf Mode to make your life easier I guess

I personally find it funny as to why everyone says that deaf mode is cheating since I've personally been able to hear the sound every time before the visual effects kick in, even with an okay headset, the only situation where this arguably helps is if you genuinely have some kind of audio problem be it headset, device or your hearing. Like sure this helps with chainsmoker, but its bad strategy to jump in a locker asap since they can actually make a slightly different sound when theyre close so you always know when to jump in
That would mean you don't even need Deaf Mode, you have mastered the game that you don't need those ✨visual cues✨ that those amateurs need in order to beat the game.

It's so easy to distinguish the entities, I have no idea what are y'all on like (I'm assuming you have perfectly fine hearing judging by your comment) Angler - You know. (Assuming you're not stupid, which is a bad idea since you use deaf mode solely because you want to distinguish the entities) Pinkie - Lights don't flicker, echoes of screams. Blitz - You don't need your hearing for this one because there is a *visual cue* for Blitz. And that is the lights flickering twice. Froger - I mean come on, when you see an Angler going back, it's Froger. You can even hear the sound of it going back. Chainsmoker - This mf is slow, like you. He is very slow and leaves green smoke in his path. His movements sounds like _chains rattling_ and the screen will shake VIOLENTLY when he is near. Pandemonium (Not an Angler variant, but he said entities not Anglers) - The soundtrack "It Wakes" from Iron Lung, take a listen to it if you want to know how its movements sound like. Wall Dweller - Its footsteps are literally louder than you, I don't understand how people die to it. Just turn around after every door if you really can't hear his footsteps. Good People - If you can't hear the breathing (Somehow), look for visual cues, the Door number will spark if it's Good People. Sebastian, Squiddles (You kinda need since they make sounds when you're about to agitate them but just don't use the Lantern and you'll be fine), Searchlights, Lucy, Eyefestation, Internal Defense System, Hazards and Parasite all don't need hearing. So there, git gud.
Keep in mind my reply is _assuming_ you're not deaf or don't have any heating issues, so you shouldn't take anything I said seriously if you really do.
When crossing the bridge to the ridge you can see another bridge to your left where anangler wil cross andd turn offf aall lights in that bridge to the ridge
this is cool, i played the game and immediately turned this setting on. i didnt know it was the setting putting the outlines. so when angler was coming i knew when to get in but my friends didn’t.
Yep, if anyone asks to remove that feature then, Can they just have "sound volume" so I can hear the monsters signal rather than visuals, how's that???
deaf mode i only use it in lockerless runs because it makes the ridge easier because without deaf mode the anglers dont flicker so they will kill you unexpectedly if you are unaware and also you can know what monster is coming, deaf mode is 10/10 i highly recommend it for lockerless runs or people who have poor hearing (im not deaf or no poor hearing its just very helpful in the ridge
@@Tiktallic This was actually discussed with people who had confirmed hearing issues. It was originally planned to be implemented, but was removed because said people said it would just actively make it more hellish for them to play the game. The thing is, having hearing issues isn't just limited to being deaf. There's a large range of deafness you can have, and as such, after a bunch of playtesting, it was ultimately decided that they'd keep the audio normal (for now). They might adjust it, but even if they did... Accessibility features are going to be inevitably abused by those who want to have an advantage in games like these. We shouldn't make it more hellish for people who actually need these features in exchange, though.
yeah I suppose that makes sense, it's a pretty common assumtion that people who are deaf can't hear AT ALL, the same way that some people assume that people who are blind can't see at all, etc and in hindsight, people likely won't be able to abuse deaf mode the way they think they will the vignettes only seem to appear when an entity is already close, so if you were to rely solely on deaf mode, it wouldn't really help the only other entity I can think of cheesing with deaf mode is the wall dweller which is funny to me because if someone is using deaf mode to cheese the wall dweller because they can't hear it, then they're just using deaf mode for its intended purpose still, you make a great point, and it seems unlikely that deaf mode will be changed anytime soon. people are obviously gonna try to abuse it, but I mean, what the hell. it's not like pressure is the only game with accessibility features that people abuse, so who really cares
@@godofportal5905 That's easy to say as someone who doesn't have HOH issues - Besides, as much as it sucks that it's being taken advantage of, there's really nothing that can be done unless you wanna make a worse experience for disabled players.
hi! i understand that you didnt mean anything terrible but my friend cannot hear very well and this mode has helped them very very well with their game. if you fully turn off the sound it will make the game harder for those who can still slightly hear and this has been said by HOH people that the devs should not do this. please remember that this is an accessibility feature and it is NOT to make the game easier. it is your fault if you use it to cheat.
Ngl, i feel that deaf mode should be removed - well the way it works. I think adding ALOT more vibration when an entity is near would work. Also, pinke should have alot of shake compared to angler, because pinke should khs... NOW!
Vibration as in physically vibrating the device wouldn’t work for keyboard, and just screen shake would also harm people who cannot handle their screen going fucking bonkers every ten rooms (edit here, ITS A FEATURE YOU CAN DISABLE, so it cannot be screenshake) for finding lockers, it would end up making it HARDER when you can’t see a thing because your screen won’t stay still. I was expecting the audio to get muffled for deaf mode, but I don’t really mind either way. Hearing loss is a spectrum and all, and as someone who enables it due to auditory processing disorder it’d be annoying to make that issue worse by muffling the audio. So uh. just don’t turn it on if you have problems with it.
Tbh as an able person, deaf mode doesn’t really help me much other than identifying the anglers and wall dweller. Even with deaf mode turned on, i still check behind me almost every room because the ambient sounds is so good that it makes me paranoid
turning on this setting doesn't mute or muffle the regular audio at all, so it kinda feels like cheating
anyways, with deaf mode on, every node entity is given a different colored vignette to signal their arrival
Angler - Dark Gray
Pinke - Pink (duh)
Blitz - Gray
Froger - Brown
Chainsmoker - Green
Pandemonium - Red
Other entities have small changes too
Squiddles - Grayish Vignette when you shine a light/stand near them
Wall Dwellers - An additional pair of footsteps will show up on the radar
Good People - The PA guy will tell you where to go (i think??? idfk)
Searchlights, Eyefestation, Void Mass, Parasites, are the same
don't ask about A-60/Death Angel/Educator because i have no idea

Pinkie - Lights don't flicker, echoes of screams.
You are telling me that i missed a document.... THAT I KNEW THE LOCATION OF?
this is cool, i played the game and immediately turned this setting on. i didnt know it was the setting putting the outlines. so when angler was coming i knew when to get in but my friends didn’t.
For people wondering, A-60 doents had a color vignette
for true deaf person experience put the video audio at 1%
I HATE SEARCHLIGHTS HE KILLED ME IN SEARCH PARTY>:(
Bro jst got the rarest squiddle variant in 4:18 and didnt even take a pic 😔
because hes.... recording...?
If you enable this will lockerless still be possible or it wont count because of it enabled?
it will still count. if it didn’t, it would’ve said below the setting.
how do you survive against the pdg detonation
How to turn on this steps things?
Lockerless gamers now be having assistance
When i win this game, i Just jump like a rabbit
Rush?
Meeting Pandemonium first😂😂😂
YOU SURVIVED PANDEMONIUM ON CONSOLE WTF
Yep, if anyone asks to remove that feature then, Can they just have "sound volume" so I can hear the monsters signal rather than visuals, how's that???
they should add that as one of the “wins” required settings like 10 wins mayb
@@Riii5kksjbddoav Luckily I now have AN EARRAPE HEADPHONES
Time to turn deaf mode on >:)
I got badge when I got killed by Sebastian
cool.
(dude you get a badge for dying to almost anything in the game)
@@jokerpunctre yea i that was the first time I go killed
@@Ok-4m4myea? everyone gets the badge for getting killed by sebastian man
like theres nothing to brag about here
4:20
What is Rush doing here-
but where’s blind mode
i do know this is a joke, but realistically speaking, i doubt any blind person could even use a device, let alone play a game.
How do you enable it?
Edit: Nvm I found it. You just have to go to accessibility in settings while in lobby and click deaf mode.
what are dont deaf or hearing?
Ain’t now way 4:18
Did they remove it?
Yoink!
Yes basically
how did you enable it
in the settings tab, under accessibility i think
deaf mode i only use it in lockerless runs because it makes the ridge easier because without deaf mode the anglers dont flicker so they will kill you unexpectedly if you are unaware and also you can know what monster is coming, deaf mode is 10/10 i highly recommend it for lockerless runs or people who have poor hearing (im not deaf or no poor hearing its just very helpful in the ridge
how to get deaf mode
There is a deaf ost, why not mute the game and play the deaf music 😭
I do find it weird that the audio isn’t changed
yeah I was concerned about that too
they need to muffle or mute the audio so people can't cheat with it
@@Tiktallic This was actually discussed with people who had confirmed hearing issues.
We shouldn't make it more hellish for people who actually need these features in exchange, though.
yeah I suppose that makes sense, it's a pretty common assumtion that people who are deaf can't hear AT ALL, the same way that some people assume that people who are blind can't see at all, etc
and in hindsight, people likely won't be able to abuse deaf mode the way they think they will
the vignettes only seem to appear when an entity is already close, so if you were to rely solely on deaf mode, it wouldn't really help
the only other entity I can think of cheesing with deaf mode is the wall dweller
which is funny to me because if someone is using deaf mode to cheese the wall dweller because they can't hear it, then they're just using deaf mode for its intended purpose
still, you make a great point, and it seems unlikely that deaf mode will be changed anytime soon. people are obviously gonna try to abuse it, but I mean, what the hell. it's not like pressure is the only game with accessibility features that people abuse, so who really cares
just make it quieter and id say its fine, not by a large amount but maybe enough to slightly annoy people
@@godofportal5905 That's easy to say as someone who doesn't have HOH issues - Besides, as much as it sucks that it's being taken advantage of, there's really nothing that can be done unless you wanna make a worse experience for disabled players.
I think deaf mode is cheating so to make it harder turn off the sound
hi! i understand that you didnt mean anything terrible but my friend cannot hear very well and this mode has helped them very very well with their game. if you fully turn off the sound it will make the game harder for those who can still slightly hear and this has been said by HOH people that the devs should not do this. please remember that this is an accessibility feature and it is NOT to make the game easier. it is your fault if you use it to cheat.
@@beachbiter oh my bad
@@beachbiterthis. I'm deaf in my right ear and have trouble hearing certain pitches in general so deaf mode is literally a lifesaver
FREE WIN FOR ME 🤑
Ngl, i feel that deaf mode should be removed - well the way it works.
Deaf mode can help people with a rare syndrome which i have, its called Skill Issue
Tbh as an able person, deaf mode doesn’t really help me much other than identifying the anglers and wall dweller. Even with deaf mode turned on, i still check behind me almost every room because the ambient sounds is so good that it makes me paranoid
