    Love this so much. I’m the biggest fan of truck campers and vanlife but we have 6 kids so it’s a 40 ft motorhome for now. Once our 3 oldest are out of the house, we will do either a van or truck camper. Thank you for putting in the time and effort for such a detailed tour!

    Wow .. I know you guys are happy and comfy in your van ... but this is a PALACE!!!! What a great opportunity to take a little vacation from your van. It's always fun to change things up for a while - do the kids and kitties like it?
    I'll bet it took some getting used to - you have your "system" and routines all worked out and this is a totally different kind of thing.

      Yes for sure! There are definitely some tweaks we would make if this was our full time rig

    The lid for the toilet could easily hinge half way to the wall and be like a bifold door that you could open with bed in King size formation.

      No ours doesn't bifold. That's also not the only issue. Even if it did, you wouldn't have room to sit on the toilet seat as the bed would be over it.

    Nice layout but there's really no way to enjoy the view of the landscape at eye level when sitting at the dinette? Seems like the window height limits your view angle downward to maybe just the ground perimeter around the camper.

      the window level indeed does not line up while you are sitting at the dinette if you are wanting to see views in the distance. we often just sit outside if the weather is nice.

    does the drawer raise the tray? I noticed there's a large gap above the cab to the bottom of the bed in the camper, and it all looks like it sits pretty tall. BTW, what rear bumper is that?

    do you know why the windows roll down instead of up and out of the way?

    • @malimish
      @malimish  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Easier to keep them open. They are really not in the way as they are.

    Now that the kids are older (2 teenagers and a preteen) how do you justify them all sharing one bed? I have followed and "liked" you guys for years. (at one time a Patreon) Don't you think your kids deserve some privacy? No hate....

    • @malimish
      @malimish  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      In this case then perhaps you know that we ask each of the kids every year about what they want. If they wanted to have more privacy we will make it happen. In fact being in their own rooms would mean they don’t chitchat with each other until midnight and we would love that. But they enjoy being close to each other. They are not forced to continue traveling if they don’t want to. None of us are. Youve been around long enough and should already know that. This hasn’t changed. In fact, when we stay at airbnbs from time to time, they still prefer to sleep in the same room together. It’s a kind of sibling bond that you may not understand. Or perhaps you are just projecting your own feelings on to them. It is a very American idea that all kids should all have their own rooms. Most of the world is just not like that. I am not sure the American way is necessarily going very well for our youth but since I know everyone has their own reasons and I'm not an expert, I don't really like to give any advice on what people should and should not do.
