I can’t begin to explain how much I appreciate these 8 hour stories by Dan. Since 2018/2019 I have been sleeping like an infant, with little sleeps lasting 45-2 hours. I won’t get into the horrors of why, but I wanted to write a comment of gratitude. I’m currently surviving by a thread emotionally, psychologically and materially but if/when I am eventually awarded PIP I will show my gratitude with a token of appreciation. Thank you for these stories. You’re helping people in unimaginable levels. I only ever get a few hours of sleep when Dan’s voice is on these days. THANK YOU!👋🏽🤍🌟🫶🏽✨
I decided that when I go search for content like mine, there are other channels now using the same font and yellow as I use on my thumbnails and felt mine just didn't stand out as different in any way, so I gave thought to what I do and felt I would probably describe myself as a surrealist storyteller, so why not lean into that. I hunted through hundreds of fonts to find one I liked that I felt no other channel would be using but that is still clear when the thumbnail is postage stamp size. I found a different 'yellow' I like that I felt would compliment the colours I wanted on the thumbnail. I found the hex codes for the main colours I wanted to have on the thumbnail (not needing the exact colours, but around those few main colours) and then worked on a surrealist style I wanted my thumbnails to be and how I could create this (including, what would possibly work best for the image - like 'just have a single focal point': in this case, the windmill, which connects to the story, rather than too much, like the mouse and windmill, etc., and having each thumbnail a surreal night time scene and hopefully something which is soft, 'dreamy' and fun, like I used to feel my old old stories thumbnails were going back to 2016-2019ish, made up of cartoon elements, so that people know they will probably get a surrealist, 'Alice in Wonderland'/'Monty Python' type sleep story, which mirrors the kind of thing you should be experiencing as you fall asleep naturally, where you drift into the land of dreams, which make sense whilst you are experiencing them, but on reflection, you realise how unusual the dream logic is...
@DanJonesHypnosis that was sound reasoning and I agree this style matches your style well. I don't recall the channel name or even if it was one specific channel but I've definitely been scrolling and come across a thumbnails I think are yours until I read the channel name
I sure wish you told these stories with rain in the background rather than having to imagine it there myself... as soon as i start listening to the story i either have to work too hard to keep imagining the rain, which takes me away from the story, or i totally forget about it But i have to say i really love the way you tell a story, it pulls me in entirely and i feel like a kid again, hahaha! I especially love your attention to detail!
@ZigzagBuddha I get comments on these videos telling me to turn the rain sound down because it is too loud and asking me to turn it up because it is too quiet.
@@DanJonesHypnosis Hahahaha, yeah, like jane's addiction always said "everybody's got their own opinion". I listened to a video titled 'distant train horns' but to me it sounded like it was right outside my window, hahaha. I'm thinking of experimenting with playing a rain sounds video at the same time i'm listening to your stories, that way i can have it at the right volume for me and also the right quality of rain, hehe... a little thunder roll way off in the distance is always a good touch, hahaha
Thank you Dan❣️ I am bundled up in my covers looking forward to listening tonight as it sleets outside. I also appreciate the thumbnail. Thanks for the explanation of it. 💜👏
Put this one on last night, woke up around 5 hours later no idea what happened but immediately went back to sleep. After waking up this am I do recall a bit but I'm certain I didn't make it past 15 minutes
Dan Jones, I noticed the volume increased a lot when the narration reached the story of lupa the wolf Cub. Maybe run these stories through a program that can Make them all the same consistent volume. I think this may be cause for wake up for people. I know it is for me

Thank you for sharing. I'm glad that the videos are helpful...
@ Ever grateful. Thank you!
Subtle so i'm not sure that slight pause in "antici-pation" was intentional, but it made my day 😂
Oh I LOVE this thumbnail!
Would be cool to have as art on the wall!

This video is one of my videos with natural rain sound in the background for the whole duration of the video
@@DanJonesHypnosis Hahahaha, yep, there it is. I had to turn the volume all the way up to hear it, guess my hearing is as bad as my kids say it is :(
