Just found your channel, and boy does this bring back memories. There was 4 of us back in the day that built a pallet skatepark for our unicycles, and we went everywhere on those things.
I just saw a road unicycle last week in Montague, Massachusetts. Man riding said he had gone 33 miles already with 15 more. Our roads, here in the Connecticut River valley, are cycling friendly but not nessicary all flat! Was a strange sight indeed!

i bought my 36r over 15 years ago and immediately rode it 100 miles in the MS-150. But I haven't ridden it in over 8 years as I moved away and its in a storage shed. I gotta get it back now.
In Alabama we have a similar steep road and it is really fun to go down it. One time I was in my dad's 2012 Chevrolet Colorado and my mom was driving it and we driven the truck down the hill but we jump the hill at the same time.
As an American, I'm so happy that you started out with the group you did! I've seen a lot of horror stories from other world travelers who get treated very poorly when they arrive in the US. I'm quite a bit late, but I'll be following the rest of the journey!
I know a steeper paved street in the bay area.. Columbus St just north of Isabella St in El Granada, 30 minutes south of SF... I used to ride it on my 10 speed..

35kg on a UNICYCLE!?! INSANITY, LOL! I packed maybe 20-25kg on my mountainbike (packing way too much clothes, and a LOT of water because i did not have a waterfilter), and it felt really heavy uphill, and kinda scary downhill, LOL! My current baseweight (for summer camping without a bike) is 6,44kg, which i think is pretty decent, but i hope to get it down to maybe 3,3kg in June. I dont understand why anyone would pack/need over 10 times this weight XD

What I dont understand about unicycles: how do you not hurt your balls? Seriously, I find normal bikes with fairly padded seats to be really uncomfortable as well, so i dont really sit on it, I mostly support my weight on the steering handle and the pedals, and I only sit down slightly off center with one thigh or the other when rolling downhill. But that doesn't seem like an option on a unicycle...
So wait, can any two people actually ride the tandem unicycle or is that just a failure machine? Also the recumbent unicycle is a brain injury waiting to happen.
