Astro’s earlier MVs are more on the cute, fun loving side, and they’re known for being ‘refreshing’. they start to dive into more mature sounds from Baby/Crazy Sexy Cool, and then some deeper or darker/sexier concepts thereafter. we characterise Knock as powerful+refreshing, and no matter what concept Astro does, they always carry a unique sound/feel that’s easy to identify. most Astro songs have beautiful melodies, and lot of them bring up one’s mood.
Hi, first of all thanks for the reaction. Actually the whole history of ASTRO, their discography and videography, have a lot of hidden meanings and references. ASTRO started their career (2016) with a fresh and cute concept because 5 of them were still underage (-20) and their first 4 eps had a seasons concept; Spring Up (Hide and Seek), Summer Vibes(Breathless), Autumn Story(Confession) and Winter Dream (anniversary special ep, no MV, Again has a great dance practice). Baby (Dream Part. 01) and Crazy Sexy Cool(Dream Part. 02) were in 2017 so they still have a fresh and cute concept, but more mature than the previous ones. In 2018 a major change in their concept began because they went through problems with their company and spent 1 year without activities. In that year they released Always You in the special ep Rise Up (ep dedicated to the fans who stayed with them during the bad times) but it was not promoted. Always You has a totally different concept to what they had been doing, being sadder and more melancholy (I highly recommend it, the video is really beautiful and the lyrics hit hard). Later in 2019 they all became adults and released their first full album (All Light) with the tittle track All Night, with a more mature and sexy concept (this song gave them their first win on a music show).

This song is based on a Narnia-like concept and has these elements of magic (magic dust that Jinjin/security guard blew off at the end) because the album was released around Halloween. The choreography for this song has one of the best formations and intro pieces among all of their title tracks. Irrespective of how the title may sound, Astro songs almost never go too hard or too sexy. I feel like even 'One' had the potential to be way sexier, and heaven knows the Astro boys can be breathtaking models, but, as Astro, they never go that far. Earlier it was because Sanha was too young. But even after Sanha came of age, Astro stuck to a more mellow image. It reflects deeply in their music as well. It is always cool and refreshing and never too hard-hitting. Jinjin once said that that is the sound that the group unanimously enjoys, and so I am glad that they have the courage to stick with it even though more extreme "bad boy" concepts or "troubled teenage emotions" seem to sell much more. 'One' might have been the most uncharacteristic sound for Astro, but even in that, you can identify their signature sweetness and mellow sound. Their vocal abilities have improved so much since their debut days. I hope that you are able to check out their near debut vs more recent discography to appreciate their growth. While their titles are nice, Astro ballads are heavenly.
