- A GM tone generator with a button keyboard on VHS video cassette-sized housing as in the QY Series.
Because it lacks sequencing features, the MU5 is designed to be used by connecting it to a computer. Mobile tone generators were in demand in the DTM market at the time due to the soaring popularity of laptop computers.
The MU5 can be battery-powered and can function as a keyboard, so a connection to a laptop is the only thing needed to enjoy producing music anywhere. / Yamaha.com /
Вот такого я от маленького инструмента уж точно не ожидал.
Не забудь ознакомится вот с этой сессией на Yamaha MU5 - th-cam.com/video/fQk4uZEuy9Q/w-d-xo.html
Just picked one on reverb cheap to use with my mpc 1000😎 cant wait
Nice. I've just put fresh batteries in my old MU-5 :)
Miami Vice car chase footage. ;)
Cool. Nice and simple and definitely retro. All done on the MU5?
Yes
Awesome track and video. 👏
Looks like a cool box. Too bad it doesn't have a sequencer. I'd pick it up to play alongside my QY70 but I guess the QY has all the sounds + more.
Nice
Great work.
Unreal. Is it possible, at all, to sequence it externally without a computer? Im thinking of buying one but am a bit confused about the sequencing, or lack of, with this machine
Yamaha MU5 does not have a built-in sequencer, so it is controlled by external sources (either using a DAW or an hardware sequencer)
If you want nearly the same soundset but with sequencer on board, you'd better look for Yamaha QY20 music sequencer. Good luck!
Thanks guys for the reply. And thanks for the other suggestion. Think there might be one in the local classifieds
May I have the MIDI file (as well as more from th-cam.com/video/fQk4uZEuy9Q/w-d-xo.html )?
