Is incredible that we live in a world where nintendo music has it's own jazz version
i mean, the inspiration for most of the early music for videogames from japan is the jazz fussion of japan from the 70s and 80s, there you can even find an exact part of the original supermario ost, thats why when getting to the west, the sound of the famicon and a few latter nintendo consoles was so "new" as jazz fussion was not that big in the west, and in japan they toke from salsa, bossa nova and many more sound from latinamerica, so this one, at least for me, sounds like a reencounter whit the music past.

Pretty much the elite of musicians emerged in this industry of video games especially where limited hardware necessitates imagination and creativity to fill the void visuals were lacking.
Check out Adam Neely's channel, he recently released a great mini doc about video game jazz.
Love seeing Pauline on the vocals, Mario on the Electric Guistar, Peach on the Basshroom, and behind them is famous jazz & rock drummer Frank Koopa.
I play these everyday in my classroom.
Students only sometimes recognize the music since its still nintendo, but many dont understand the jazz part of it.
Works for me since its instrumental and familiar.
Makes me glad it works and all of them (you as well I hope) liked it :) , also I hope they've been able to see how incredible the jazz is, even without understanding it completely

Listening to this while working/studying reminds me of all the games I could be playing when I finally finish, which makes for a great motivator.

I wanted to say that I have watched a combined total of probably 40 hours of your three nintendo jazz videos while reading history books for my classes and writing essays. I love this content and I think what you are doing is extremely valuable to society. I hope you will continue to make more videos such as this because I can imagine with time your channel may get big enough for you to financially support yourself just from this editing and audio splicing work.

@@zelda-kirby_fan I'm really liking this vid, will check the others when I finish it. If you need ideas there are plenty of good soundtracks that the viewers can recommend you, I'm sure of it. I suggest Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, you could do wonders with the first two! (Red's blue rescue team and Explorers of Sky)
Unless he soloed all the instruments and bought a studio, I don't see how living off a channel is crucial

This was great music to use while cooking! Much credit to the musicians and musical writers who helped convert these songs to a jazz style, quite difficult, especially for the operatic Super Smash Brothers theme song.

One year later and I am still coming back to these videos. I am now writing my thesis for my master's degree, and I always listen to these songs while working. I have all of them memorized at this point lol. Anyway, thanks again for the song collection. It is really nice to have 4 hours of great music. @@JonathanCurro I know you left his comment a while back but he's just released a new album! some are re-makes of older tracks, some are brand new, most are original compositions. it's a much shorter album than in the past but it's honestly fantastic. invisible man is probably my favourite

It's funny because most of these tracks are jazz/funk compositions but as they were mixed with peculiar sounds, they sound video-game-ish
video game-ish music, specially from japan, sound like japanese jazz fussion anyways, as they are closely related, thats why it works so fucking well.

I've been slowly loosing interest on video games for the pass few months due to school stuff. Very stressful but listening to these has slowly gotten me into playing again.
Well, I'm glad it has! I understand you very well actually, not just videogames but I've also had to sacrifice a lot of stuff I like in order to get my responsabilities done, but at the end when you end your obligations is really nice and quite helpful to just lie down and play some nice games, or do whatever relaxes you. I hope when you get out of your obligations you can play again some nice game and relax, I know you deserve it. Also, thanks for giving this compilation a try, I'm happy to know that in a way it was helpful for you =)
