- The hospital was opened in 1922, so you'd expect to find some interesting lifts here. And, they are (well, sort of).
Yes, they've been modernised, but long enough ago not to feature the usual black call and floor selection buttons that appear everywhere nowadays.
The outer doors with the windows are probably original - the inners doors are not and no longer feature a window.
I was at this hospital around 4-5 years ago. I remember this 'coo'ing noise (like a dove) when the lift slowed to a stop. It's still there on the centre lift but not audible in this video.
The, what I call, "constant droning" noise when the motor is running (at any speed) is audible just about everyone, even on the ground floor outside of the lift. The two LH bed lifts have a 'wurring' noise which indicates the motors are probably original.
These lifts take ages to level - see the end of the movie for an example!
I remember going up the stairs before to find the motor room when I was here last time (4-5 yrs ago), but there was nothing interesting up there. On this visit there staff hanging around in the lobby on the 3rd - so didn't go up this time.
Bet I would have got 5/5 if I went into the motor room, hehe!
Thanks as always Harri.
Great motor sounds and great video
These remind me of the lifts at Wexham Park. Saw them today and they're modded Schindlers. Poor Schindlers modded with older Lesters.
I was going to pick up the phone, last time I did that with the old phone in the H+C lift someone ANSWERED IT!!! Wasn't expecting that!
@TheDaniel500 Yeah, but it took me a while to realise that! Many other videos had the same "bad audio" hehe
@ANDREWWALLFORD123 Nice lifts, I wonder what year they were installed?
Very excellect video! because these elevators has upgraded improvement works is look bettter than fail. But is problem slide doors more improvement, because of nosie slide has wombling really. Very nice elevator isn't.

first time i have seen a triplex by chiltern lifts, slowing speed takes to long could be because of patients on beds stops all the sudden jolts. not bad lifts though.
Do any of these lifts still exist?
Place was demolished about 4 years ago.
