I have been sewing for over 50 years and from this video, I've learned a few new tricks. Like fluffing up the stuffing, trimming the fur before sewing, and the correct way to do the ladder stitch. Terrific video
This is a great tutorial. Finally a clear description and explanation of what “nap” is and how to follow it. Along with the explanation of the arrows on the pattern. For all of the beginners here we appreciate this. Thank you
I am a first time sewer and learn by viewing. I just recently purchased faux fur because I want to make a stuffed Irish Setter. Your video was perfect for me to use as a guide. I just have to purchase this pattern. Hopefully the pattern won't be too hard to find. Thank you for such a great and detailed video!
I honestly did not know the proper way to stitch up a stuffed animal. Thank you for including that (and all of your other wonderful tips) in this tutorial!
Thank you so much for your video. I'm making rabbits and did't quite understand the directions. However, you made it so simple to understand. You made my day!
Awwwwww, so cute! :3 I'm about to start a freestyle puppy, and watching this has given me a lot of useful reminders on technique! Thank you - sorry to tell you I won't be able to buy any fancy patterns, but know that it's very much appreciated :)
It has been a while since you posted your video, so I hope you see my question. I am very new to sewing. Thinking it would be easier I bought Calico quilting material to use for the stuffed toy. After pre-shrinking my material I notice that it is crooked. I have looked online to see how to straighten the grain. I will try to attempt it, but I do want to ask. Is it very important to have the grain straight when I am making a stuffed toy? There is no pattern in the material to worry about. I am grateful and appreciate the time that you take to produce and post these videos for us. Thank you so very much.
I am so loving this video ! That pup is too cute :) And pink too ! I have trouble finding the fur . I can only shop online, so unable to see and feel. I can see a bit of unusable fur stacking up in sewing room, as I choose wrong lol.
This is going to be perfect for me to make a plush replica of my beloved Lhasa apso Lucy who recently passed away just before Easter I can't wait to buy the pattern and supplies I need for this project thank you so much for posting this video and sharing your tips and tricks great job keep up the good work 👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
+Latoya Carter Hi Latoya, It's really easy as you'll only need two pattern pieces to make it. Hope you'll try! And if you need help with the instructions, you can always contact us at info@simplicity.com or call our hotline at 1-888-588-2700.
They should have that fabric, along with other fuzzy farbics, and working wtih bulky fabrics, is hard you should not do it unless you have some exprience, maybe you should use plush fabric, soft, but not too bulky.
Love this it was very helpful. Can anyone tell me what type of material is being used for this pup. I am using a fur that is working great for the rabbit but I really love the long hair look. Can seem to find anyone that knows what this material is not seeing it on line. Thanks
Just came across your video which is excellent. I have made the bear and the rabbit from the Simplicity 8044 pattern and am just about to do the dog. I am interested where I could get the plush material from, it looks great. I am from the UK and searched on line but cannot access the same unless I want to order on EBay from China which I am reluctant to do. Any advice welcome.
I tried to make the dog from Simplicity 8044. I seem to have messed up the darts on the underside so now i dont know how to sew that correctly and then to sew the two sifes together abd then the front snd back together. I can send photos or a short video if you give me a way to send it.
I am quite new to sewing and haven’t used a paper pattern before. I bought this simplicity 8044 with the thought of making a dog. Not understanding the language of the pattern I found it a bit challenging. So I looked to see if there was perhaps a video I could follow. To my dismay there was only one and that didn’t go through it step by step. Unfortunately my dog is a bit sad looking.
I can't stop making this rabbit thanks for your help in making this video. What I have also done was cut a circle stuffed it and pulled the thread round the outside to form a ball then sewed it on for a wee bunny tail.
Thanks for this great video. I am making the dog right now. Can you tell me the exact name of your fabric please. It is perfect for plush animals. So cute
Several of you asked what type of material was used for this project but I don't see where a response was given. Does anybody know what type of material is used here? Thank you
HiItsIrene It is probably called faux fur, but there are a lot of very different furs that people call faux fur. Some are more realistic and some are like this.
+Kimberly Owen Hi Kimberly, Sorry, we don't have a step-by-step tutorial, but you can always contact us at info@simplicity.com or call our hotline at 1-888-588-2700 if you have any questions about the pattern. Thanks!
Can someone please show me how to do the bottom of the bears/ dog as mine never turns out right where you join back and front together I'm going wrong some where thank you
Why doesn't this dog have a tail, I'm making it now and I don't notice a tail, seems weird to have a dog without a tail lol Anyone know why there is not tail or maybe I did something wrong?
Hey, I have been trying to figure out the secret code to finding a child's school uniform pattern on the simplicity web sight and after 30 min searching I decided it would probably be best to have you suggest at the bottom of the size 20 woman's school girl pattern to maybe suggest uniform patterns for ya know kids that actually go to school and not some doped up bbw call girl cosplay crap. Seriously WTH!?!? The web sight sucks and who ever made should be fired. So fckn aggy!
I have been sewing for over 50 years and from this video, I've learned a few new tricks. Like fluffing up the stuffing, trimming the fur before sewing, and the correct way to do the ladder stitch. Terrific video
Nice!
How old are you? I am 69

This is just too adorable. I'm viewing this tutorial in January 2023 off the Lion Brand Site. Great tutorial.

Omg I'm really bad at sewing but this video really helps thanks!
Awesome video!!! Can you please tell me what fabric you used?

They should have that fabric, along with other fuzzy farbics, and working wtih bulky fabrics, is hard you should not do it unless you have some exprience, maybe you should use plush fabric, soft, but not too bulky.
