25yrs ago I was told by a friend who is a James Bond fan with some connection in in the film industry when I mention Adrian Paul as a possible future Bond he said that ship has sailed because Adrian has already been to casting call for the role and the part went to Brosnan.
Hi here, I hope someone can get this to Mr, Adrian Paul. I have a son who got me to start watching Highlander. He is in a wheel chair, because of a drunk driver hitting him at the age of 17 teen. When in rehab he stared watching highlander. My son wanted to go to one of his sword classes really bad. He was told It would be to hard having someone in a wheel chair in the class. Watching you would help him forget everything that was going on around him. I am just a mom trying to put a smile on my sons face and make him happy.

I can’t think of another actor that had the combination of looks, athleticism, acting ability, action chops plus the ability to speak multiple languages very well that you had. Plus like you said you are a Brit. My highlander fan friends and I always say you were the perfect choice for Bond when you were younger.

Funny story, but the first time I actually saw you, on Highlander the Series, for some weird reason I just assumed you were Sean Connery's son, because you looked so much like him, and I thought for some strange reason the filmmakers must have got Sean Connery's son to star in the TV show, since Sean Connery was in the movie. Silly in retrospect, but I still think you have a slight Sean Connery resemblance, and you would have made an excellent James Bond in that vein.
I had no idea about that. I think you would have done well as Bond. For the new Bond I'm leaning toward Henry Cavill, who has expressed interest in doing it. I think he has a lot of Sean Connery's attributes. James Bond's looks changes with the called for times. Example: A blond, blue eyes guy would never go to Greece to wipe out some low life slave runner (in braking the chains of evil). But someone that looks like you could get the job done. I think you would make a great Jame's Bond, but maybe just a little bit to lovable (you have a good heart, it shows in your acting, but also that could bring in the numbers) Bond has to be cold hearted as ice. But I think you could do James Bond well, you would bring the numbers in that's for sure. My thoughts !
I had always hoped some film maker would have had you play in a film with Sean Connery either has his son or as his younger version within the story. They missed a real chance to bring it back to the Connery standard by not using you. After Dalton, it just plummeted into cheese, then wood with the most recent installments. You would have been the perfect balance of humour, ladies man, action and drama.

I think- judging from the comments- it's almost unanimous; you'd have made one hell of a Bond. I honestly told my then wife who always watched Highlander with me that "Look at this guy! He's more Connery than Connery is Connery!":) You probably would have not done H'LANDER because of schedule conflicts and such, so to that end we didn't get you as Bond, but we have indelible memories of Duncan McCleod and for that I'm very, very grateful.
I've seen a lot of 007 movies and liked most of the Bonds except Moore, to me he just didn't pull off the character; my favorite is Sean Connery. To tell you the truth Sean Connery got better with age. I wasn't so attracted to his characters when he was younger. You would make a great Bond and age brings a wisdom to the character. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Highlander & you were the best! I think it's a mistake to do a redo they cannot make it better, they should just re-run your old series. Also, that ending was perfect - such a lesson. Wishing you the best in your future!

I’m glad Brosnon played Bond when he did, but I would’ve loved for Paul to have taken up the role instead of Craig. Not that I dislike Craig, just that Paul’s presence and charisma are more suited to the role.

I loved the Roger Moore as Bond. Sean Connery was amazing in everything except Bond IMHO probably just because I wasn’t old enough to know him as the original & could only compare his to what I thought was the original… Mr. Moore. lol It would be the same seeing someone else play Duncan. No one would compare. You would’ve made a great Bond in the 90’s. I’m still hoping for Idris to take the role now. Sidebar… Loving the mustache/ beard you’ve got going on right now.
Adrian, you have the voice even the accent to be James Bond and if they would ever ask you to be James Bond I think that would be a good character for you to be. Age has nothing at least with you I don't know how many others think that but again that is what I think. I still love Highlander just haven't watched it lately probably because I know almost all of the series pretty bad when you can recall something 25 plus years ago from a tv sitcom. I loved Sean Connery as Bond, and after him Roger Moore with his wonderful irony. Daniel Craig I don't like at all (I dislike blond hair - wrong type), didn't watch his Bond films. Last I read a woman is to take over that roll - could be interesting.

AP! you would've been an amazing Bond over the past 15 years but selfishly I suppose I'm glad it worked out as it did, after all we wouldn't have made Lost Colony or Captain Drake otherwise. (You would have made that trade I'm sure! 😂 And I wouldn't blame you)

I loved the Roger Moore as Bond. Sean Connery was amazing in everything except Bond IMHO probably just because I wasn’t old enough to know him as the original & could only compare his to what I thought was the original… Mr. Moore. lol It would be the same seeing someone else play Duncan. No one would compare. You would’ve made a great Bond in the 90’s. I’m still hoping for Idris to take the role now. Sidebar… Loving the mustache/ beard you’ve got going on right now.

Adrian, you have the voice even the accent to be James Bond and if they would ever ask you to be James Bond I think that would be a good character for you to be. Age has nothing at least with you I don't know how many others think that but again that is what I think. I still love Highlander just haven't watched it lately probably because I know almost all of the series pretty bad when you can recall something 25 plus years ago from a tv sitcom. There can be only one.

Maybe now is the perfect age to be james bond. I think you would make a great 007. You are the logical choice. Daniel Craig was excellent so it would take someone like you to put their own twist to re invent it so to speak
He is 62 or 63 .. i think he would be great as well.. but the writers may want someone younger. Adrian seems fit enough
