I'd love to see a spin-off of these two - how they first met, how and when they fell in love, the utter chaos they probably wreaked through the pages of history...the list could go on.
It hits so many after the final, it feels like Rio saying "Even with memories and perception twisted by that spell, the hate remains" or "At least she still hates me, it's better than nothing"
We didn't get that happily ever after ending for Agatha and Rio. BUT honestly this ending was so beautiful for Agatha. She finally came to terms with her pain, anger and grief: faced death, gave in to her love for Rio finally. The flowers & fungi Rio created for Agatha's grave was so touching 😭 All the little details/things Rio does for Agatha truely show how much she loves Agatha.
Don’t think she sacrificed herself for Billy, she said that herself. She took a calculated risk because the opportunity was there. Hopefully we get to see more of Agatha and Rio somehow in the future
I like the detail in how Death looks different from usual the two times she appears to take Nicky. Death looks like she is mourning while Agatha is giving birth, wearing green instead of black (because she always wears black), and carrying a flower. This is clearly a devastating moment for Death, so much so that she is willing to defy the natural order of things for Agatha to at least experience the beauty of motherhood, even if only for a few years. Then when she finally takes Nicky, she appears in a very sweet and gentle form, carrying a green torch to symbolize light and warmth. As such, Nicky passes peacefully, without any fear, sadness, or pain.
1:30 - this scene *killed* me. Kathryn Hahn should win all the goddamn awards for the way she tore "Please, my love! Please!" out of her mouth, each syllable drenched in unimaginable anguish.

There was an interview I guess with the creator and she said they didn’t feel they had time to explore their backstory because they needed to focus on Nicky. But they had talked about them have a cottage together and meeting from Agatha killing people. But she also ends it by saying “it’s a story for another time.” So maybe they’ll come back to them. Seems like a waste not to.
Agatha spent 6 years killing witches with Nicky to distract Rio from him (the same way she did with Billy on the road) and the one day they didn’t kill any, Rio came to take him home💔
I hope we get a dive into their relationship at some point. Rio was dedicated to her job but broke her own rules to give Agatha time with Nicholas. She said it herself "I did something I didn't want to do, even though it was my job". Her anger at Agatha is most likely because Agatha (in her grief) saw her as a monster from that point forward, when in Rio's mind, she did the only thing she could do and prolonged the collection of Nicky's soul. Such a powerful relationship between them. Such a great edit too. I really want to see more of them.
I think i get it now, the “special treatment” rio was referring to was letting Nicky live. He was suppose to die at birth but rio gave her time with him, warning him he would eventually die and she couldn’t stop it. Rio loved Agatha, but she was forced to take Nicky with her. She always loved Rio and Rio always loved her, but the death of Nicky broke them both.
I have a theory on that. I think in order to get Nicky time, Agatha offered Rio the bodies of other witches. Hence, she used Nicky to kill other witches along the way. But the day Nicky refused to kill a witch, the exchange broke and Rio took his life instead. Similar to what happened to Agatha too. The day she was gonna die, Rio gave her a chance in exchange of Billy's life. But Agatha saved Billy

I kind of had hope for Marvel and Disney to finally explore more of a LGBT+ story, but in the end all the setups from earlier in the season were just forgotten and i'm left with just a lot of why and how. - How did Agatha and Rio meet? - Why was Agahta standing trail in Salem? - How was Nicholas created? - What was Agatha and Rio's story like through the ages? - How did Agatha get the Darkhold?

Such a beautiful edit, and now I understand better why Agatha kept killing all those witches using her witches’ road con - taking their powers kept her so powerful she was immortal/unkillable, so Rio couldn’t come to her and had to keep pining for her for centuries without a chance to make up or resolve their breakup. Thats why she entered Agatha’s illusion to try to talk to her and get back together (I guess?), but as soon as Agatha got out of the illusion, she remembered rio and hated her again immediately. So the whole show, Rio was there for love basically. 🥺
Gosh I love them so freaking much. Marvel really had to go and give Agatha not only one of the saddest backstories but also one of the most tragic romances ever😭

I will never get over how gently Death takes Nicky, smiling at him, taking him by the hand and calmly guiding him into the afterlife, making sure he is as comfortable as possible as she takes him, while also making sure Agatha was asleep during his death so that she wouldn't have to experience it she really loved Agatha and tried to prolonge her son's inevitable death and make it as easy for her as possible and it's heartbreaking that their relationship crumbled over something that Death had an obligation to do but didn't want to because she never wanted to hurt Agatha also the idea of Death falling in love with a mortal is so interesting to me, it's such a unique and beautiful dynamic, I really wish their relationship will be further explored in the future

I hate how they ended the show, with agatha being a ghost and not wanting to see rio (this was included in the deal). I also saw someone commenting that Agatha probably is a ghost because she doesn’t want to face rio. To me, it feels like marvel wanted to do queer and they did excellent, then decided they didn’t want to complete the story, but knew fans wanted a kiss, added that and left the story. I wished that they had more moments, especially in the finale (not one present scene?, wtf), I get that the focused shifted to Billy to built his future present in marvel but they created this very complex relationship/dynamic between Agatha and rio and it feels so unfinished. Their story got me hooked on the show and I’m for sure not the only one. I found rio so interesting as a character and Aubrey’s acting was great, so i hope marvel will at least continue and explore her story. No, I’m just disappointed at the ending between rio and Agatha. Especially the emotions from Rios side were heavily communicated but unrequited in a sense with the ending. Counting on a s2 or a show that deals with their dynamic especially, which I’d say is very unrealistic:(( Beautiful edit tho!

For example I would’ve loved a scene with rio and Agatha’s relationship after her death, since in the earlier scenes it was implied that rio wanted Agatha to die, probably to have Agatha for herself. Now that it has become reality, what happens? Does their relationship shift? So many possibilities… Would’ve been really cool to get at least a peak of their new life, even if Agatha’s was avoiding rio as a ghost. Also, over the course of the show their dynamic seemingly was on the road of getting fixed, but then suddenly crushed by the flashback of Agatha’s loss over her son. It felt like one of the shows climaxes would be Agatha and rio making up, Agatha being able to deal with Nicolas, maybe even by having him sort of replaced by Billy/ or with Agatha dying, being reunited with her son and being with rio. But then they just add a maniac laughing rio, a fight and Agatha’s death? With rarely any meaningful interaction, that would tell the audience about the future? For me, I think their last scene was the onethat made their relationship feel shallow. I guess I’m just pissed cuz I spend so much time shipping them hahah

I truly believe that Agatha and Rio won’t be able to stay away from each other for too long. Their bond is too strong and Rio will miss her wife too much.
The scene where she sees the darkhold in the crib is so much more painful once you know her mother hated her just for existing-- saying she was evil-- and the lengths she went to for her son, only to be faced with the darkhold (evil.)
We need more backstory about how their relationship started and need to see more romance and love between them in season 2… At least a few episodes dedicated to just them

I will never get over how gently Death takes Nicky, smiling at him, taking him by the hand and calmly guiding him into the afterlife, making sure he is as comfortable as possible as she takes him, while also making sure Agatha was asleep during his death so that she wouldn't have to experience it
she really loved Agatha and tried to prolonge her son's inevitable death and make it as easy for her as possible and it's heartbreaking that their relationship crumbled over something that Death had an obligation to do but didn't want to because she never wanted to hurt Agatha
also the idea of Death falling in love with a mortal is so interesting to me, it's such a unique and beautiful dynamic, I really wish their relationship will be further explored in the future

I hate how they ended the show, with agatha being a ghost and not wanting to see rio (this was included in the deal). I also saw someone commenting that Agatha probably is a ghost because she doesn’t want to face rio. To me, it feels like marvel wanted to do queer and they did excellent, then decided they didn’t want to complete the story, but knew fans wanted a kiss, added that and left the story. I wished that they had more moments, especially in the finale (not one present scene?, wtf), I get that the focused shifted to Billy to built his future present in marvel but they created this very complex relationship/dynamic between Agatha and rio and it feels so unfinished. Their story got me hooked on the show and I’m for sure not the only one. I found rio so interesting as a character and Aubrey’s acting was great, so i hope marvel will at least continue and explore her story. No, I’m just disappointed at the ending between rio and Agatha. Especially the emotions from Rios side were heavily communicated but unrequited in a sense with the ending. Counting on a s2 or a show that deals with their dynamic especially, which I’d say is very unrealistic:(( Beautiful edit tho!

For example I would’ve loved a scene with rio and Agatha’s relationship after her death, since in the earlier scenes it was implied that rio wanted Agatha to die, probably to have Agatha for herself. Now that it has become reality, what happens? Does their relationship shift? So many possibilities… Would’ve been really cool to get at least a peak of their new life, even if Agatha’s was avoiding rio as a ghost. Also, over the course of the show their dynamic seemingly was on the road of getting fixed, but then suddenly crushed by the flashback of Agatha’s loss over her son. It felt like one of the shows climaxes would be Agatha and rio making up, Agatha being able to deal with Nicolas, maybe even by having him sort of replaced by Billy/ or with Agatha dying, being reunited with her son and being with rio. But then they just add a maniac laughing rio, a fight and Agatha’s death? With rarely any meaningful interaction, that would tell the audience about the future? For me, I think their last scene was the onethat made their relationship feel shallow. I guess I’m just pissed cuz I spend so much time shipping them hahah

To me Agatha is a Ghost cause Rio protect her. C'mon. It's a love story with the death, what do you expect? It's not a fairytale. And so, for the first time Marvel had courage:literally the kiss of the death it's a poem. Glad, glad, glad. Trust me, you'll see more of them in the future, they haven't reveal all.
This show is a masterpiece lets just call it as it is. I was skeptic at first and wow was i ever wrong. What a Rollercoaster and trip. Agatha is one of my favorite characters now. Re watching wanda vision i have a whole new respect for Agatha in it now

i cant understand the switch in agatha's behaviour towards rio that happened in the finale. m so bitter sbout it. and so devastated with the ending. i wish they meet again in some other project or we get a prequel for them although its almost next to impossible
