  • Jeremy Fears (Michigan State) and Cameron Christie (Minnesota) are considered by many to be the top two high school senior basketball players in Illinois. Their teams, Joliet West (15-4) and Rolling Meadows are having their best seasons in years (both top 10 in Illinois). The Illinois Mr Basketball contenders and future Big Ten basketball rivals met on the court at the 2023 Steve Pappas Shootout at DePaul Prep in Chicago. The game went down to the final shot and we saw some of the best basketball of the season (in Illinois at least).
In the end Jeremy Fears Jr hit the game winner with 3 seconds left 62-60. He finished with game high 26 points. We heard there were 24 lead changes in the game. Jeremiah Fears finished with 14 points. Justys Mcnair and Drew King added seven.
Cam Christie led Rolling Meadows with 19 points, 7 rebounds despite being fouled repeatedly. Mark Nikolich-Wilson had 16 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists. He needs a scholarship! Sotirov added 10 points.
Thanks to everyone at Depaul prep. Check out these basketball highlights from 2023 Steve Pappas Shootout! This might be the best game of the year?!

Look at the CAPTION for this . Now 1 guy in particular the 4th quarter showed DOG and was willing to do anything to win FEARS while the other throughout the game and in particular the 4th quarter was straight TRASH CHRISTIE. FEARS should recommend never to put them in the same sentence. See its one thing to be good in the MSL ROLLING MEADOWS but what happens when you play people who aren't afraid and have athletes and a guy with a killer mentality. HAD 30 AND 35 for MEADOWS not played they would of lost by 20

Thats dumb to say “if you take away their second and third best players they lose” well ya no shit. If you take away fears little bro and 24, they lose by 20 too

@@cjsteg3623 the point is those other 2 guys carried probably their part or more and if he is what they say he is he gets that game home. Now you can be off but he didn't want it. Looks like they ran their offense and they weren't doubling and he was no show. While the other side that guard went after it and he did it by outworking and showing that by any means necessary attitude. He also did it within the offense and he made good decisions.

I'll say what I said about his brother CHRISTIE nothing special about him. Now will he get drafted because he is 6'7 or so and can shoot possibly like his brother maybe. That TOM IZZO effect gets alot of guys drafted that do nothing at the next level. Well see if going to MINNESOTA has the same stature. Mediocre athlete mediocre handle and 10:32 or so he hits a 3 and he is too cool and FEARS comes down while he is cool goes right past him and dunks. Is that what D1 DOGS look like 🤣 but hey his bro avg 9ppg and 3reb and got drafted

@@Snoorlacks he getting minutes and shooting 42% from the field. Averaging 5 pts a game with an assist means you should get more seasoning in the G LEAGUE. The fact is he has to be able to consistently knock down the 3 playing with a LBJ or AD. He is and was drafted on potential. He needs more time in the G LEAGUE otherwise you may see him being packaged and bounced around
