It's interesting when you consider the name of this March. Fudo Myoo is the Buddhist deity whose name means "Immovable King of Light", but this march feels so athletic, strong and robust.
When you're the one only enemy left alive at the end of the battle retreating. You seem to get near the end of the map but you get a direct hit from a cannon ball and is obliterated. Nothing is left of you but a crater in your place.
Very few of the Japanese were Samurai. The rest were nameless peasants that labored, suffered and died while the samurai had their tea ceremonies. There is a reason why they discarded that tired old system really quickly. Wouldn't you say that the common Japanese family lives a much better life than they would if the samurai were still around?
@@dinguskhan655 they had already been administrators for many years at that point. when the samurai class was abolished those who were previously samurai became everything from generals to beggars.
Yes, back then Samurai could kill a farmer without much punishment, it was the good think Japanese abolished it's caste system, giving even common surnames to all people.
there is one song that plays on the campaign map, it's sad sounding, violin-family as the melody, and it would make you feel as if japan is dying, and another is growing strong. Like the death of a specific part of their culture. I dont expect you to know it, but if you know please nudge me in the right direction.
I must've listened to every song on this soundtrack at least 3 times lol. But the tune i heard doesn't appear to be on there. Thanks for the help though, everyone.
Maybe so but if you look at it at a more personal perspective, even japan wasn't completely free from corrupting influence (even from before western influence skyrocketed not all samurai were as noble as their titles spoke for them). sooner or later change would have come for them, whether or not they were ready, but that doesn't mean that change is free from suffering. still, that doesn't stop people from still remembering who they were, and that's what's important IMHO.
The sound of an enemy 20-unit stack slowly marching toward you while getting obliterated by multiple batteries of armstrong guns

Nothing can move him off his path ;)
@@broquestwarsneeder7617 well he was the remover of obstacles and destroyer of evil
Takeda Shingen often likened himself to Fudo Myoo - perhaps the song's sound mirrors his legacy as a samurai & general well into the 1800s.
The sound of you afk with the game at 3x speed while you wait for the **** artillery to get in position.
Or while your ships sloooooowly sail towards the enemy

the main battle theme song of medival 2
Yeah but think about it total war managed it to always have extremely cool soundtracks(i only know Rome(1!),Medieval 2 and Shogun 2 and its great)
Oh my god you are right. That's so awesome! van Dyck's a genius.
"The enemy have discovered our hidden units!"
You have killed their general sir
Yes, I think especially with the Shogun 2 Soundtrack Jeff van Dyck surpassed himself.
This is some seriously awesome game music.
This is the best music of shogun 2 fall of the samurai.
1:35 gets me HYPE as shit everytime
I've preordered it, so I got the whole soundtrack including 30 songs. I'll upload the remaining songs today :)

That's not why the system was discarded but okay
Most Europeans weren’t Knights. Most People weren’t royalty.
Actually, at the time when Fall of the Samurai takes place, samurai were becoming administrators. The feudal system was already slowly evolving.

3:00 FIRE
I don't think your culture died, it has just developed.

when the enemy lines creep towards my grand battery of 32 guns
The Forgotten? That is the saddest, most poignant of the campaign tracks imo
Might be this one yeah. I mentioned the Sun Bird because it comes up like 90% of the time im on my campaign map lol.
It could also be "It will never be the same"
Kind of reminds me of Duke of Death.
I preordered on steam too, you should find the soundtrack here C/program files/steam/steamapps/common/total war shogun 2/soundtrack.
Funny that this track sounds as remix from Total War Medieval 2(Duke of Death) but it was arranged a little bit different
It sounds like Duke of Death from M2TW
Or perhaps "A Rock and a Hard Place"

I Hear a little Medieval 2 in this one
Sorry i meant Jeff van Dyck d'oh!
lol ? i preordered also, but where are mine soundtracks ?
where preordered you ? i preprdered in Steam
sort of sounds like the battle of shinobue.
Probably because those games had the same composer, while ETW & NTW did not. I still don't know why CA didn't hire Jesper Kyd for those games
But that pic looks nice too
Maybe it is "The Way of the Emperor" or "Attack from the West"
What is the instrument called at 2:15? Sounds like the turkish ney to me but do japans also use this instrument?
I think that is a shakuhachi

i think you mean the forgotten.
how do you access the soundtrack?>?
Ebb and Flow?
i don't think so, i think the Japanese found how to balance the modern while retaining its rich ancient culture...
are u still har priest? :(
I don't think so, The Sun Bird is more a happy song...
Unfortunately all development leaves something behind.
I'm sorry, I don't understand :(
yes ur still har :)
He still har
I agree completely. "Modernisation" was the worst possible outcome for the culture that Japan had. Also, I hate kawaii as well XD
Was kawaii the same word before the modernisation or after the modernisation? Or both existed?
Good
