just got the GLX 6 x based on your review. Also grabbed some knockoff unity riser and ftc mounts off amazon for cheap . cant believe no one else made a video on it. i'm gonna pair it with a holosun 512c. the dot looks great under the PA LER 3x so hoping the 6x looks just as good
The dot will be bigger on a led based red dot with the 6x, so it will block more of the target than a holographic sight (like the eotech), but let me know how it looks 👍
yeah its a sacrifice im ok with. I prefer the holosun reticle the eotech is too fuzzy looking also the battery life and lack of shake awake is a killer. will do ! thanks again for the reviews @@poortac5568
Good video, man! Really enjoyed this. I have a set up with dot and magnifier and always wondered how the heck you “zero” a magnifier. This video explained it a bit better for me. Thanks!
Why would you think adjusting the magnifier moves the red dot? The reason you zero the magnifier on the red dot is so it looks natural and consistent with the dot being centered on the red dot. If the dot is not centered in the magnifier, it doesn't look natural to your eye. I currently have the EOTEC G45 and a Sig Romeo 4H and every time I flip it out of the way and back again the red dot is still centered in the magnifier. I can confirm this because I also have the dot centered on my rear sight through the peep hole (the rear sight stays up and sits between the magnifier and the red dot). The dot also sits directly on top of the post of the front sight. Everything lines up perfectly. I can leave my cheek on the stock in the shooting position and move the magnifier out of the way and see the dot through the rear iron sight. Move it back and the iron sights disappear, and the dot is still centered on the magnifier. The space between the red dot and the magnifier is about 2 1/2 inches. The magnifier is mounted all the way to the rear. Then the rear iron sight then the red dot in the normal forward position. There isn't quite enough room to flip the iron sight down with or without the magnifier in position, but it doesn't matter. One of the reasons I have it set this way is so the magnifier sits closer to where my eyes are when I'm shooting (proper eye relief so I don't have to move my face forward or shorten the stock). When the magnifier is in position, I don't see the rear iron or the front post, just the centered dot. When I move the magnifier out of the way the rear iron is right there, (about 3 or 4 inches forward of the charging handle). Kind of like the rear sight of an AK being farther forward. I see the red dot right away because it is lined up with the peep hole and sits on top of the front post. It works perfectly for me. A true co-witness co-witness.
@@Pappy7064 Its a common myth amongst many guntubers, that you need to “zero” a magnifier. You are correct, a magnifier only needs adjusted to be centered, for “ocd” reasons 👍😂
I got the 6x magnifier, along with their 1x micro prism... I was pretty sad to find out that the chevron is too large under the 6x magnification and blocks most of the target. Seems like something that would have been cool to mention on the website so people know this before buying it.
Yeah, most red dots or larger reticles are massive, when magnified. The best optic with a 6x magnifier is the Eotech EXPS3-4 in my opinion. Ive been testing it out and its bdc reticle works amazingly. The dots are tiny, even when magnified (if you turn the brightness down). They are $$ though 😢 The review/video is on my to do list
@@poortac5568keep in mind, they’re both scaled equally. Sure the reticle might be larger, but the target is too. It’s really about preference, but i think it’s important for others to know that both the reticle AND target appear larger.
To be fair, if you have an optic with little to no parallax, I wouldnt expect it to shift. If its a dot with much more parallax than an Eotech then I can see it being more problematic.
Nice video but the MRO is nice I've had mine for 4 years. Still haven't changed the battery the parallax isn't that noticeable to me as long as you're using good funtamentals I would say the eotech is better if it wasn't for the battery life. Especially for stigmatisms. But yeah, I enjoyed the video thanks
The PA 6x magnifier is still going strong. I just paired it with an Eotech EXPS3-4 and I love the 4 dot reticle with it at range. I was ringing steel at 500 and 600 yards fairly easily once I figured out my preferred zero.
Do you know any really good night vision companies that sell their night vision to Canada? I'm currently looking for a pvs 14 to buy but most companies people recommend don't ship to Canada and its pretty hard to find some good ones sorry if its a dumb question i just haven't done enough research.

@@Pat_Monroe I thought so too, the first time I was taught it. It’s a precision grip. It takes out the factor of you gripping/squeezing the rifle, right as you pull the trigger. 3x mag on the 1x micro prism works well but anything more than that would get too big like in your case
