She certainly chose her moment well. Thank goodness for people like her.
You're so right.
Some of her students are tortured now, if alive and:
"EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: *Empty Israeli Towns Near Border with Lebanon; 60,000 Remain Refugees"*
I am sure that Dr. Ruth Gottesman who most certainly had several emigrations in her life from one palazzo to a bigger palazzo to even bigger palazzo can relate to the plight of the refugees and

I hope that our "happy" nonagenarian has enough energy to join some of her previous beneficiaries, dance and chant "Allahu Akbar" happily in celebration of this and similar events on other campuses.
i hope all those students remember her generosity, and share it forward and be kind doctors :)
❤
Better work harder than a robot
Yup
I was thinking the same thing. I feel her sentiments could be payed forward. I hope so, for this is a torch to light the road for others to follow.
Kind doctors in the US? 😆 hard to come by.. the industry is greed and money driven, and those who survive that environment are loyal dogs of insurance & drugs companies.. 😏
I've read somewhere that a person only needs $10mil to live comfortably for life. Anything more is just excess. This lady gets it.
Depends on what, if your friends get 50m$ house on average. You also need to get it too.
She's also 93 years old, it's not like she has much life left to live. Although any kids she may have might be a bit upset about that even if the government poaches half of the estate, although I'm guessing she has a few bucks still tucked away.
Lol what. 10 mil is already excess.
I would need less than a million to live comfortably for life.
@@supernotnaturalcomparison is the thief of joy
Study hard. Be the best doctors you can be. Pass along the gracious gift you have received to the world.
Amen to that ❤🎉
Amazing lady. Be so sharp at 93. Amazing
We need medical professionals, not debt in order for this country to live. Thank you Chairman Ruth!
This is called biggest service to humanity.
What a generous lady.
All because her husband invested in Berkshire Hathaway. ❤
@@yvonneplant9434and also because her husband had great taste in women. What a lady❤
She is insane and stupid.
and also becauze her husband has a great taste in stocks 😮@Ariadne4
Applications to this school will go through the roof.
As was the case when NYUs medical school became tuition free and when Kaiser Permanente opened their own tuition free medical school in 2021. Acceptance rates dipped to 1% or less, with Kaisers first round of matriculation hovering at 10,500 for a total of 50 spots! That's a 210 to 1 ratio or an acceptance of around 0.01%!😐
Watch how a bunch of rich white/Asian kids start applying to this school in the next following years. Harvard title won't matter when you can save $200-300,000.
@@miamitten1123 Do you believe there's anything wrong with Asians applying there?
@@miamitten1123Always blaming others instead of yourselves, huh.
@@miamitten1123 The only people who're getting into this school have or have done the following;
1. Gotten a 4.5 GPA
2. Got a 580 on the MCAT (a perfect score)
3. have 10 letters of recommendation (including one from the president of the US)
4. Have north of 100+ publications and abstracts with their name on them
5. Sucked off the dean
6. Fondled the campus presidents balls
7. Sold their soul to Satan
The lady will be remembered forever, she made history.
The government needs to reign in insane tuition being charged to physicians and dentists. The average dental school debt is $400+k and interest accrues from day 1. Even pausing interest while in school would save students $75k+.
That is not wanted. The tuition and interests are a whole industry, making super rich people even richer. I guess they hate this old lady for doing this trick. In Switzerland, students have to pay like 500-850 CHF per semester to study medicine, coming to a whooping 1000-2000 CHF per year !!! While in the US they charge the students 60k per year !
And I don't think the standards are different, switzerland has a very very high ranked medicine education level.
The government won't do anything that helps the lower class. You saw what happened when that student loan forgiveness was shot down by some jackhole that BENEFITED FROM THE PPP LOAN PROGRAM.
I'm just glad that this woman made a direct, specific donation to the students. Bc how many times have we seen ppl donate to colleges and we have no idea where tf the money went?
@timo1383 oh no, someone else paid for it. Oh the horror! Wtf are you talking about
You pulled those numbers out of your ass and you're not taking into account how much they make after
With students also getting free from paying back in interest. This actually worths like 3 bn$ at least. Not just 1bn$. 3X burden is lifted.
What a wonderful gift to all❤
Thank you Dr Ruth!
Inspite of everything else... this happened. 🎉 What a phenomenal thing to do.
It's amazing what one person can do for so many other people.
Shame to those who are on the list of the Top 10 world's richest. Thank you so much for making a big impact on all aspiring students.
How do you know they won't do a similar thing as Dr. Ruth? How do you know Jeff Bezos won't found a medical college in Eswatini or something? You're a typical "modern" socialist type. Always rushing to snap judgements.
Shame on you for thinking u can dictate what others do w their money‼️ donate your checks how about that
Shame to you who is broke but loves judging others. I'm pretty sure you haven't contributed much to society.
@@Whatnokshut up peasant
@@Whatnokyou don't need billions to live comfortably. Billionaires are greedy people.
737 students this year, enough for 4000 students to receive tuition free, assuming a quarter of a mill in tuition. That's enough to be tuition free for the next 5ish years. I wonder what application/admission stats will come out in the next few years. Very competitive, no doubt.
Just thinking the same thing.
If they turn majority of that fund into financial products the college can be tuition free for at least next 20 years.
google says tuition is $63k
Welcome to Greece where they have free tertiary education !!
It will be free tuition for much more students for much longer. If you put 1billion dollars in a high yield savings account that accrues interest monthly, assuming 4.5% interest. It will create an additional 45 million dollars each month, and interest will compound. It will quickly grow, if their half smart it will last forever.
It's gonna be the hardest med school to get into ever now 😭
Just for a couple of years 😂
@545 If my math is correct it will be able to fund students for the next 18 years or so. But if they start by investing the billion into a trust and invest it the returns alone should be able to fund students indefinitely. Basically will make that school the first tuition free medical school in the world. Which I think isn't a bad idea, it will give people who don't come from money to have the equal chance at a medical career.
There are a couple other medical schools in the US that are free, but yes, Albert Einstein Medical School went from insanely competitive admissions to now astronomically competitive.
@OwaisKumar-se8dm it's an American Medical school, it's not in Israel.
@OwaisKumar-se8dm nawww they'd join if they could save 200-500k bucks in student debt LOL. Also, it's a Jewish uni, so now everything Jewish is Israeli?
Imagine the positive follow-on effects on humanity of this one act of kindness. Imagine how many students who would have dropped out due to finances, now won't. How many students, who otherwise would never go, now can. Imagine the research they will do in the coming decades, the discoveries they'll make, the people they will heal and inspire. Our filthy-rich could easily make higher education "free" for most in this country without using a single tax dollar. We should start asking them why they don't at every board meeting; just start putting on the pressure. Titans of industry are very competitive; if one does it the others will follow so as not to look like they've been beaten. Use their egos to get what WE want for a change.
Did you notice how the major news outlets didn't even publish this story, like they don't want the idea to catch on.
Seing as they have over 9000 applicants and only 180 spots there won't be more students studying. Instead it'll probably be more competitive since money won't be an issue anymore and it'll be harder for people to get in.
You know what is crazy? In Brazil we have dozens of really good medical schools for free for ages. The US government can make free med schools for everyone there, not only med schools, but all other courses too, if they put the money they spent in military into education.
@@ws4857 it also mean the best student are going to get in. It is overall better for patients.
So instead of taxing the filthy rich, you want them to donate their money ?
This has brought me to tears!
Me toooooo. 😢 but is happy tears
She is a real model of an elite. Respect!
I mean if the lady doesn't have her own kids and she's a part of the chair for this school its understandable that these kids might be treated like her kids. I don't think that's a bad thing for her to do if she's got excess money to spend. That was very kind of her. I hope others follow her example and help out their communities.
Bless this lady, good example of generosity
Way to go, Dr. Godesman!
What an amazing gift! Thank you, Dr. Ruth and congratulations to all of the future doctors.
I’m soo happy for them and I’m tearing. My daughter is doing premed right now, wish all the best for her med school 🙏🏼🙏🏼💕
Thank you.
GOD BLESS THIS WOMAN❤
This is amazing
What an amazing woman! I applaud her for her generousity and helping numerous students and their families. This will affect generations!!
that is amazing for so many people in so many ways down the line God Bless her and her husband.😊
This is just amazing, I’m so proud of the students at that college knowing that it isn’t easy. I hope for a good future for you all, and hope you’ll love your careers! I’m a sophomore in high right now, I’m learning more about college each day and I’m really excited to go. The plans for next year which is junior year and senior year do give me anxiety and makes me feel anxious knowing I really do need to make smart decisions. But I believe in myself knowing that wherever my education is, that I’ll have an amazing outcome towards my school, people I’ve met, and much more. I just really need to work at it. Not only education but communication wise too, it’s something I’d really love to improve on and it isn’t easy at times but I believe in myself, I want to work hard to get there.
The cost of an education is one of the reasons that medical care costs so much. The profession has always used the high entry barrier to restrict it to wealthy people.
She’s doing extraordinary things for those students! The gesture goes above and beyond! Much respect to her 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
She was so generous, we need more of her kind in this world, that’s for sure.
That’s awesome 👏🏻. There are good people still. 🙏🏻
Bless her as such a beautiful thing to do.
I’m glad she has faith in humanity. I lost mine quite some time ago.
Their application rate is about to go up.
The cheering and excitement on their faces look so real. What a generous lady!
i’m not a student, nor would i ever dream of being a medical student, but this is awesome and it really makes me cry!, cry happy tears of course!
A billion dollars 😳 , that 1 million X 1000 , whaoa thats huge , Masha Allah
May GOD bless this woman
Masha allah yourself back to gaza
Absolutely brilliant people can only benefit from this act of kindness
May GOD bless her , such a nice woman 😊
Happiness is contagious fs I'm happy just looking at those smiles! Tysm Dr Ruth and Husband
Dr. Ruth, you are an angel. I am not a doctor, but I have needed one in many medical emergencies. You made this corner of the world brighter.
👏🎓 Incredible news! This heartwarming act of generosity is a game-changer for aspiring medical students. Education should never be a barrier, and this donation ensures a brighter future for countless individuals. Truly inspiring! 🌟💼
A hope for Humanity . What a Brave Woman . Everyone is happy and eager to study and achieve . Get us out of this Human misery guys you are the Last Chance , good for you , God Bless everyone in that room. And many successes ahead.
This has made me so happy
The load this takes off their minds to better study and learn ❤ bless you 🙏
I love her and I can not help feeling glad for those future doctors.
Good on her. I'm really glad the school accepted her donation and put it good use. The last time I donated to a school (Oakland School for the Arts), the teacher who I was trying to help told me my donation wasn't welcomed and proceeded to insult me on social media. Craziest thing I've ever experienced.
Her family would be proud especially her parents
❤❤❤ Bless her heart ❤❤❤
Thank God for such a lovely soul.. More health and happiness to her....
A rare good moment in the news finally
We need more news like this
Wow!! That’s beautiful!!
Bless her heart for being Super generous and share most of her money to the medical school. Especially coming out from pandemic time. So many people are extremely struggling with their finances.
What an angel
Blessings to her!
That’s amazing! ❤️
May God bless you Dr
God bless her. Most Americans are generous
I love to hear GOOD news.
this is amazing! I did not get any of that but I am still very happy for those who did.
my god that's a life changing gift
What an amazing lady ❤
as a current premed student about to apply into medical school, it's ridiculous the pressure and financial struggles medical schools put future doctors in. sure, we make a lot of money but thats after residency and perhaps even fellowship. we dont start making our first million until in our 40s because of the debt medical school puts students in. more medical schools need to follow this path and help doctors because this debt pushes a lot of aspiring doctors away
If you do get the scholarship & debt free education, maybe consider give it back by lowering the medical costs!
@@tl1533 well I cant on my own decide to change the health system in America
The medical debt is also why we have a huge shortage of family practice, medical examiner and general medicine doctors. These are the specialities that don't pay so well.
@@christinacody8653 exactly.. because your max salary in these positions are typically is generally less than the average medical school debt. they just need to reduce the tuition because its ridiculous
No if u can’t handle it don’t do it. Not everyone can become a doctor. Only the best
What a trooper! I didn't even get the money, but this is what i needed to see! Restored in humanity!
This story keeps making me smile.
That’s amazing please pay it forward in the future md
You and your Husband are Great People.❤😊
Thank you on behalf of those students. I’m sure they will all pass it on to their communities, families and patients. There are many good people in the world and she reminded us that even a little light can banish the dark.
This should be considered to a Nobel prize, for SURE!
No it’s just 1 billion given to rich kids not poor people.
She could have used the money to create her own Nobel prize.
May God bless her
Maravilloso regalo, Dios le bendiga
May God truly bless her soul.... This is how Angelo Saxons should be ... Madd respect to you
this should be a thing for all schools
May god bless their soul's
It's times like this I'm glad I got left behind
God bless her ...❤❤❤❤
RESPECT!!!!!
Amazing, what a Generous lady. I want to be a Doctor and Surgeon and I will Pay it forward in the Future.
Wonderful !!!
I just made a $4,000 payment on my graduate school tuition. Worth every penny imo. Going for my phd eventually. Dr. Hammerhands some day. My parents say why go for a phd when your job only requires a Bachelor’s. I told them because all of my children will see that if Dad can do it, so can they.
What an incredible legacy!
Way to go!
Bless you me lady... The people running our world can take lessons from you.
God bless her
Just amazing
an angel❤
This is generational wealth.❤❤❤❤
What a great gift !!
❤good deeds . So cool 👍🏼
Wonderful news. Good for them. What a lovely woman and an amazing husband she had too❤
Wow! What a wonderful, amazing, beautiful, generous, kind, intelligent, woman who is changing the world and human lives for the good! For generations. Bless her kind soul for eternity! ❤❤❤
Wow this has tremendous impact! Saving so much debt from the students and helping promote more doctors for the community! And man those doctors coming out of this school will have it much easier since they won’t have all that student debt to pay off after school. This is an amazing deed and there needs to be more like this!! Donations are like this are so beneficial to the community
Noble deed
God bless her. Those doctors better serve that community.
That is a good news. For everyone.
