    That ice cream sign is awesome. I think it is cool that your BF decided to tag a long in this vlog. I think he should be in more videos.

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sign was $30. I'm happy with the price. It's hung near the bar downstairs and looks so cool. Ah! I need to photo that for insta! Aaron doesn't really care much for vintage/antiques but he can tolerate pretty well. He mostly likes the road trip aspect and looking for train stuff. He likes trains. Thanks for watching!

    I want to go live in the booth you were excited about with the Pyrex, colorful glassware, 40's, 50s type stuff, with the little table in the center. So inviting.

    Mid-century furniture was amazing!!! My mom use to sit up at flea markets....she had all those books and 11 years ago after she passed I took them all to Good Will....What was I thinking!!!

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea.. luckily they aren't THAT expensive. I think they were all under $5 each, but still. I want to get a hazel atlas book by that author too, but that book is around $30 :0 Thanks for watching!

    I love how a very nice piece delights you. I grew up with lots of these things so I do a lot of "oh I remember that and oh yea we had one of those" Unfortunately who knew most of the things we used daily would be so coveted down the road . Nice to meet your other half too ! Looks like hes got your sense of humor 😵Laughter always saves the day 😝 Keep em comin watch you every night getting prepared for the day I start selling ! Oh that midcentury set - WOWZERS 😍

  • @AnnEckhart
    @AnnEckhart 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Aaron!!! Thanks for taking us shopping with you! I sort of want to have an antique store of my own so I have a reason to buy all of the vintage, lol!!!

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Low-key I want a store too, but I would have to hire people to be there so that I could do my thing and pop in every now and again and say, "hey hows sales? Good! Here is some more stuff to stick in the shop. Okay Byeeee". Another option is to have an estate sale company, although I'm not sure if that's worth it and would be very exciting. Can I buy the stuff before the sale starts? :0 ..The last idea I had was to run an antique mall. THEN I had the OPTION to watch other people bring in fun things or go find my own stuff. Plus its financially safer, lol. I'm sorry... just threw up my thoughts.. got them all over the place.. Well, Thanks for watching!

    • @omfug7148
      @omfug7148 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had a vintage 50's shop in Hollywood in the 1980's famous people came in (Nicholas Cage, Dwight Yoakam among others, that was fun) but ultimately sitting in a shop day after day with sometimes no people coming in is no fun at all, and I hated when people brought me stuff and I either hated it or had to make an offer and didn't want to insult them, LOL, so no more shop ever for me--I was in antique malls too but the owner is the one who really makes the money.

  • @shelleyrambleson9198
    @shelleyrambleson9198 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    There used to be a couple of antique malls in the Poplar Bluff, MO area - a big one south of town on Hwy 67 and another big one East of town at the T highway / Hwy 60 intersection. They had cheaper prices. Pez dispensers are like illicit drugs - sometimes they come in a baggie and you want more, more, more...Your music for the Green Shag made me think of the little orange and gold floral pair of curtains I found in the Goodwill bargain bins this week....Grooovy man! Today I noticed that a Frankoma mug I bought a couple of weeks previously looks cool with them...only problem is, they don't fit any windows in my house...

      I'll make it over there at some point I'm sure. I don't source at those kinds of places normally, but like to "shop" them when I can. Thanks for watching!

    Loved this vlog. The addition of music is fun. The word inlaid is an adequate word, however, it is best used when relating to jewelry. Marquetry is the better word to use when speaking of wood furniture and floors. The desk was lovely. Those drawers are probably a replacement.

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! I had no clue that there was a better word for that. It's so interesting and makes since. Marquetry is when you use the veneer to assemble a design (like a lot of what stuff is today). When they started way back originally doing this, the solid wood was actually cut out and then solid pieces of different wood was laid into the holes for a way more quality piece. Thanks for watching!
