I quit labour because of Corbyn, he was never a leader. Forget all this sour grapes, I knocked on thousands of doors for labour and at least 60% of people said they would not vote labour because they didn’t like what said and wouldn’t while Corbyn remained as leader

The real left in the UK has - in deadly seriousness - to learn the lesson that real change ipso facto is NOT something that is ever 'permitted' but something which is demanded! Even more imo, the old saying that if voting (alone) could change anything it would be made illegal. Historically there have been rare exceptions (though even they in the long run were crushed). In the present day UK the system is completely rigged and extraordinarily powerfully manipulated and controlled.
The left needs to abandon once and for ever its one and only failed strategy and develop a realpolitik approach to power and transformation. Time is short and repression vs desperation is ratcheting up at a constantly accelerated pace.

@SB True, but I'm resigned to the fact that I'm going to have to hold my nose and vote for them anyway ... because, thanks to our "first past the post" electoral system, any abstentions or votes for alternative parties only divide the anti-Tory vote and hand the Tories a win.
It sucks, it really does - I despise Starmer for how he's treated Corbyn - but it's the system we're saddled with, and we either operate within it or accept 5 more years of Tory rule.

Tried to discuss the progressive politics of Corbyn with them but was met with out and out derision. All based on information fed to them by mainstream media, including that anti-Semitism narrative. In other words: controlled opposition. Mr. Corbyn seems to be a man of his word with his heart in the right place, and while this news outlet is a well-produced attempt at counter-media, it still works from a platform regulated and controlled by the same combined financial and political powers running this charade. Therefore it is subject to restriction and control. Therefore also, counter-narrative like this is only allowed provided that it reflects the predicted responses from the prefabricated game strategy designed by the same elite who’re regulating the platform. This means that anything deviating from the scheme, or the information bottleneck, will be shut down by those regulating powers.
In order to run authentic counter-media you really have to start from scratch, building platforms from the ground up. And that’s such a dizzyingly difficult task that it beggars belief. Alternatively, we can throw out the rule book altogether and start getting clever about the way we push back- intelligently and precisely, but creatively and “non-politely”.

But he is more than a good man. He is also an experienced and competent politician whose diligence and devotion to his constituency is overlooked or deliberately ignored by the media. This video had me in tears. What a missed opportunity the public had to have a genuinely socialist government that nevertheless would have included so-called moderates. I think that the principal weakness of Jeremy Corbyn's leadership was the opposition of 90 per cent of his MPs. Jeremy Corbyn won the leadership election of 2015 fair and square and the matter should have ended there. It did not even end after the 2016 leadership election. The crisis continued because most Labour MPs think that they should be able to elect the Leader (and perhaps Deputy Leader). They have never come terms with internal party democracy. They have never come to terms with the modest reforms of Tony Benn and Eric Heffer between 1979 and 1981 let alone giving members an equal vote as Ed Miliband did. Labour MPs will destroy any leader chosen by party members rather than themselves.

How is setting up a shell company in some Caribbean back water so you don’t have to pay tax, earning your money? (Clue: it’s not yours. Belongs to the public)
And how is being a ceo and being payed the huge sums that the BT ceo is being paid (as was mentioned in this program), earning your money? Especially when one of the main reasons you can get paid so much is cause you pay your staff a slave wage that forces them to use a food bank?
Your argument is so simplistic and is in dire need of a discussion about what “earning money” actually means.

I don’t know how much tax footballers and brick layers should pay but the point is, footballers don’t exploit other people to ‘earn’ their money whereas the examples of people I quoted above do! A footballer doesn’t get someone else to do all his training, whereas the ceo of BT gets his staff to labour whilst only paying them a fraction of what that labour is worth when considering the profits the company makes. Same with a landlord. Even if a landlord only own 1 extra property, they’re still exploiting the tenant by making them go out to work to earn the money to pay off the mortgage, i.e. rent.
