THRICE is amazing! Old to new, not many bands can do what they did. Not many bands can progress and grow after their first hit. This is true talent, like Tool, and Nine Inch Nails.
First, the video was uploaded in 2007. Video quality for TH-cam could support higher resolution, since there exists other videos uploaded around the same time with better video/sound. Second, the video and song are recorded to support higher resolution, you can find better versions elsewhere. A lot of the quality is dependent on the uploader as well.
I've been playing guitar for about 13 years now, not professionally, but as a hobby. I can play a crapload of cover songs and have written some of my own. I can easily say that the transition at 1:21 is one of my favorite parts to play on guitar
