Have to admit, I like the Childress storage units which we have in our grandchildrens bedrooms when they stay over. I’m a big fan of the kitchenware section too and seem to buy new mugs and glasses every time we go 🤣😘
I love everything from IKEA but I must admit I do like the glass storage and the soft furnishings the best. Xx

In the US we call the airing cupboard a "linen closet"...I love the little differences in words and phases between the UK and US💚
It's a linen closet here in the UK too. :) The difference with an airing cupboard is that the ambient warmth cast off by the hot water cylinder keep towels, sheets etc crisply dry.

I loved this video, I haven't been to Ikea since before Covid I believe. You always have such great ideas. My sister gave me an insulated gravy pourer years ago but the lid fell apart after much use. I've never seen anything like it since. You are always so sweet and positive and your family reflects that. Happy New Year! 🎆

I finally get it!! An “airing cupboard” is basically a “linen closet” in the USA lol (we don’t really air-dry much and if so not in hangers inside a closet! But we do store extra linens, a Hoover etc. in a linen closet!) Stay safe! 😷 xx
Airing cupboards are heated in the UK… had to research it too😊

Happy New Year Emily! I saw you in IKEA on this day! But I was too shy to come and say hello. I hadn’t been there for ages either and absolutely love having a look around at IKEA to get ideas and end up buying so many little bits and bobs along the way. And getting a hot dog for the way home 😂 x

Emily have you ever tried that hack for storing duvet covers etc where you fold a sheet, the duvet cover and pillow case and place the set inside the other pillow case? It’s a game changer, especially if you have a mix of single, double and king. Trying to remember what size a sheet is without unfolding is so annoying. It’s a great hack for saving space (though you’ve a great space in your cupboard!)

I totally understand the love of a good airing cupboard, I joke that my airing cupboard is my happy place 🤣 I hang up a little bag of unstoppables in there and it always smells so warm and lovely!

I love ikea. Great quality and prices. My best buy last year was a vegetable drainer to go over the sink and a big wooden chopping board which was perfect for our outdoor pizza kitchen. We looked online for something similar and they were triple the price.
Love your channel Emily! Would love you to do a video on sustainability as a family...like what things do you guys do now or want to do in the future to play your part in minimising the climate catastrophe. Or similar but related, how do you help your children understand environmental issues? It’s something I’m really struggling with at the moment, I want my kids to understand the climate issue, but don’t want them to be riddled with eco-anxiety. You probably have lots of good ideas. Airing cupboard in the Uk usually has something like the water heater in it. So the heat from it will help air clothes
For the closet, I’d flip the hanging to the top and storage shelves to the bottom. Then you could have a counter space in the middle like a mini laundry room.
I'm from Australia and my IKEA has such a sad amount of stock right now 😂 I'll just live vicariously through you if that's cool girl haha

Same in Poland 🤷🏻♀️ we do have a pretty good stock of small items but it’s tragic when it comes to furniture

Love a wee dander round ikea with you as our ikea is 2hrs away. We find the ikea food bags are sturdy enough to wash out and reuse if they haven't got oily from food
Can't wait to go to IKEA as well!🥰 we renovate our place too...for about a year. We actually bought a house to renovate but I still charge my mind and change things around!thanks for this Emily!

You could buy an iron holder to fasten to the wall in your airing cupboard

I use/wash/reuse all sizes of those sealey bags. My aunt loves them so I get one of each size for her when I visit

Loved this one Emily ❤️ lkea is great for attractive storage options. The knitted and felt containers looked perfect. I do look forward to some meatballs and mash too and it’s a must to grab packets of ginger biscuits on the way out. 😙 oowh it’s getting close to makeshift kitchen time - you got this Emily and Matt. 🕊🧡
Hi Emily, did you know that you can actually get a thermal gravy mug for keeping gravy hot? I think Amazon sell them. It's much smaller than the one you got ☺️
Would love to see the airing cupboard organisation. I keep my husband’s dressing gown on the airing cupboard door as it is soooo huge and I hate seeing it on the back of a door; looks messy I feel. 👍❤️. Xxxx.
Loved seeing what y'all got from Ikea, we don't really have an Ikea close to where I live so it's so interesting to see what they have. I still find it so odd that they have food there, haha smiles! Also good luck with the next few months, I hope it won't be too stressful, but I know it'll be so worth it for your new and improved dream home, smiles!

Hi Emily, I loved your Ikea trip. One started folding a sheet duvet cover and pillowcase inside a pillowcase to make a parcel. Not only do they store neatly but it keeps everything together. I also roll or fold all my towels, to keep them tidy. I was a hairdresser in a previous life 😉xx

I’m from England and I love how British an airing cupboard is!!!! I’ve not had one since I lived at my parents house 12 years ago but you talking about it is so nostalgic!! My parents also store towels and toilet paper in theirs 😂😂😂 it has such a distinctive smell (not a bad one!!) of warm air and laundry. I love ikea so much and can’t wait until we make the drive to our nearest one!!!
I enjoyed this video! Those dyson parts are so annoying, I never thought to put them in a basket - I’m totally doing that! It’s also given me the idea to put my toilet rolls in a basket too, as I usually keep them in the plastic bag they come in!
Where do you keep your bedding? All mine is in the airing cupboard and it takes up so much room!
Our nearest ikea is 3 hours away, would love to have one nearer, I’d probably never be out of it 🤣

A baby belling would be good as you would get hobs and a grill / oven it's a size of a microwave my mum has one and iv had one when living in a very small flat with no oven was very good xx

Hey Emily! Happy New Year! 🥰 love your IKEA haul, it's looking very sad here in AU but I'm still addicted! Here's an idea you have likely already seen, I've used it in my laundry/utility room and its a game changer! Instead of having a small rail in your airing cupboard, you could have the same thing from wall to wall in your laundry! A much longer rail, more hanging room and space for another shelf in your airing cupboard! Love your content, have been an avid follower of your channel for about a year now! 😍

Emily one hack is to use boiling eater in the gravy jug first so it is hot when the gravy goes in

I much prefer the ikea baggies as well. I always stock up when I go. They just seem to last longer than others, can be reused and I have used them for countless crafts as well.

Great haul I love Ikea . Emily they sell gravy warmers on Amazon ..Also an airing cupboard in the UK has some heat in it so you can dry your clothes where as in USA and i think in most of Europe it is just a linen closet ..

We use a small crock pot to keep our gravy hot on holidays, love the coffee carafe idea!

You can get reusable stasher bags for snacks if your looking to reduce your single use plastic consumption. A great swap from plastic bags.

Have you considered vacuum sealing the fluffy extra pillows and duvets? Might give you some extra space.

An airing cupboard is called the Hot Press in 🇮🇪 and usually includes the hot water tank. I don't have one in my apartment and I miss it. I use an ottoman at the end of my bed to store my spare bed and bath linens.

This was a fun video! I actually have an insulated gravy boat just like you are describing. My mom orders a lot from catalogs and qvc and always picks up little gadgets. She got it for me.

Maybe you could get a countertop dishwasher second hand. They are even fairly cheap new but maybe that would be worth checking out cause you are a big family 😊

I love IKEA, we have one not too far away, I usually get the ginger biscuits and the Dime bars that you mentioned although I think they are quite pricey for what they are (not to mention, I don’t even like them, I get them for hubby!) 😂

Great haul.
My favourite Christmas present this year (Or rather, last year now) was a white Ikea Meltorp table from my brother & sister-in-law. It's great.
I have a yellow rug & a small yellow otterman from Ikea & they really brighten my lounge up. (Can you tell that my favourite colour is yellow.:) )
