This should be the standard for the new generation Kpop girl groups. Though some groups are good at live singing but their vocal skills are no where near these 2nd and 3rd gen legends when they were still at the debut/rookie eras.
Not all 3rd gen groups can sing live. 1st & 2nd gen should be standard of idol performance.
@Lululemon Yeah right GFRIEND, REDVELVET, MAMAMOO, WJSN, OH MY GIRL, AILEE, CLC, EXID, LOVELYZ,… all are bad vocalists. Exactly you are so right.

@@Lululemon-d3h if you are a 2nd and 3rd gen era stan you would have already known, how important for an idol to be a strong vocalist at the time. People were so engaged with singing competitions and vocal battles. Unlike now there used to be numerous vocal battle shows back then. So that’s how important it was during that time. Though people are still talking about the importance of vocal skills but it leans more towards how stable they can sing live than their vocal abilities and skills. And 3rd gen was the last era we had many good vocalists with actual skills. 4th and 5th gen are nowhere near the same level as them during their debut days. 1st Gen was not completely Kpop it was just a beginning. Kpop took shape after years of evolving during 2nd gen undergone so many changes and modernisation. 3rd gen was the most stable era for Kpop with balanced talents in all aspects. 4th gen took a slight downfall and 5th gen hit the bottom hard (still there’s hope for 5th gen as there are still more years). 1st Gen vocal skills are powerful but still the quality of their singing are more influenced by Korean trot singing very different from the pop singing style adopted by 2nd gen. Since the standards changed they might sound very old fashioned many don’t like it unless they release the appropriate music to this modern world, but 2nd gen still might survive with their pop style singing.

Are you a highly educated scholar or what? “Not all” is not applicable since the people who can’t sing or rap in the 3rd gen left the music industry long long ago”. So the 3rd gen idols still standing strong on the stage are highly skilled and well experienced artists. Name atleast five active groups that have poorly skilled main vocal members, can you?
