  • Our first ascent up Mount Baker. A truly incredible place to explore and practice our mountaineering skills. Only our second ascent with crampons, after Mount Hood. Enjoying every moment of it!

When I hiked there 30 years ago, the glacier was still strong between the moraines.

This is just what I need to inspire me to get up off the couch, boogy a few hours up to Mt Baker Nat'l Forest and soak in the beauty of creation and let my heart soar. Thanks for posting your awesome video. It's so well put together. Really enjoyed it.
    Planning my day trip.

Beautiful! Curious on the knee strap vs knee sleeve on each leg.. was she just trying out different things to compare? Or do they target different things? Curious because I use knee sleeves.

The knee strap in this case was two socks tied together. While I wouldn't recommend that technique, they do make similar styled bands that place pressure on just one spot, versus a compression sleeve. I have been telling her to get another sleeve or a legit band, until then she ties whatever she has on there when it begins to bother her. On the PCT she hiked hundreds of miles with a sports bra tied in a similar fashion on one knee. I'd recommend experimenting and finding what works best for you!

I'm trying to buy a pair of boots for mountaineering, but very unsure on what is needed. I'm interested in the Mammut high knit boots, but not sure if that's warm enough?
