I would say that this is one of those bands that I wonder why they never made it big, but they refused to compromise. I only got to see them live once, but cried like a baby when they broke up. Long live CCR. Both of them.
Record company politics and b.s. They fought the system and didn't fit into the Nashville mold. Could be bad management too. The music business chews bands up and doesn't care who they hurt!
They were an awesome band and I have loved them from the beginning. They have some great music. You are right about amazing. Thanks for your good taste.
One of the first country and alternative rock I found other than BlackBerry smoke and I still love it to this day since inbound y'all in 99 wish y'all would come back
This song and the music video takes me back to my younger days from when i was about 9 and 10 years old, as i grew up with one sister and one brother and i'm the baby of the family.
The lead singer Cody Canada stepped away from the band to pursue a home and family life back like 10 something years ago, this was one of my moms favorite bands of all time!
I know Cody from South Texas good friends of mine and we used to hang out before and after the shows long live the rag weed JJ hearron pro rodeo cowboy
great tune gotta go big now guy's need to see more of you why don't Uni.south get behind talent like this all i see is chain's and teeth so ready for a fresh dtart snd thst rockin country is the shit so good luck helpin you spread the word in wv. rock on my bros.
Sometimes magic happens when all the pieces come together. The voice, that bass, guitar etc. I still like Cody but he's nothing like CCR was together. damnit!
Law, he shure is a nice'lookin' man!! Love them black eyebrows n' blond hair...my middle boy's got that 'cept his hair's got beeutiful curls and his skin's brown..handsome as the Devil in snakeskin shoes... He's gotta wife half Vietnamese and Swede and they got the cutest lil'boy you ever seen!!
Cody Canada is cross Canadian ragweed. May not have all his old band members , I'm not sure of that but anyway, but as Cody Canada he isvstill just as good!!so he still sings. Saw them last year and had a blast.
You see kids these guys are playing actual instruments and singing songs that someone in the band or the whole band helped in writing. This is real music!
I once had the opportunity to meet Cody after a Departed show few years back. I started to ask him about the possibility of a CCR reunion. Man, he shot that question down before I even had a chance to finish. I too would be first in line for tickets if it ever did happen. If anyone ever gets to hear their final show they did at Joe's on Weed Street in Chicago that 92.1 KNBT aired live, check it out. I still revisit that show from time to time.
Most fans would, but there were some hard feelings and other issues that I was told why this wouldn't happen. It's crazy being a Okie, I always thought I would catch them the next time through, and it never came. But I wish nothing but good for all the members of this group. Very few people know how much they busted their asses to get where they did.
C.C.R.W. is one of those great bands that can't be improved on. I can't believe they broke up. Cody Canada hasn't done anything of note since. The best part of The Departed's concerts r where they do the C.C.R.W. hits.
Didn't they break up for a while because the drummer's son had autism and he wanted to spend time with him I got to see him four times in 18 months they are the best band live
Word is that they may be getting back together. I know ragsdale has tried to play with the departed. And that Cody Canada is starting to play more ragweed songs at departed shows now that Seth James left
its a great song but...the first time I heard the intro I thought Independence Day by Martina McBride was coming on. The music copies that song exactly.
Just saw Cody and his new band yesterday in a bar in Elk City Oklahoma. Still kicking ass!!!
What bar they play in. I used live in Elk City
@@user-fn9fj9up8k Blockhouse Sports Bar
What's his new band name? These don't always bring me back to my teen years with my family and friends. I would love to see what he's doing now
@@tylerwoodard1238 Cody Canada and the Departed
I miss these guys. I know they went as far as they felt they could and had to strike out on their own, but man, they were great.
I would say that this is one of those bands that I wonder why they never made it big, but they refused to compromise. I only got to see them live once, but cried like a baby when they broke up. Long live CCR. Both of them.
Because lotta folks are morons. Radio play the key and the Nashville song machine don't like real....jussayn
🔥🔥🔥
It's one of those bands that you can't understand why they weren't more popular, but you're kind of glad they aren't.
Record company politics and b.s. They fought the system and didn't fit into the Nashville mold. Could be bad management too. The music business chews bands up and doesn't care who they hurt!
They let their wives get too involved in band affairs.
Still so good in 2023. Miss these boys
Best band in the last 20 yrs. Everything they did was MAGIC!!!!
I danced with my wife in a sea of college kids to this song in Lubbock TX!They stared at us in awe! That is we we got it constantly.

I wish they would get back together....but they won't.
They should have never disbanded. WTF is wrong with the music industry if this band was not a huge success.
Steph Wildoner They are still together, their The Departed now.

Would it be possible for them to have a reunion tour? If so, I would buy tickets for that in a heartbeat!

@@fartknocker8363 That's exactly what I was gonna say😂😂 Great minds think alike😂😂
These were great times at "the house of tweety!"
My wife is the reason for this song. Lol

I am proud to be cousins with the drummer!
Logan Ragsdale cool as frost. Great band your cousin has/had !!!
Why did they really break up?
Didn't they break up for a while because the drummer's son had autism and he wanted to spend time with him I got to see him four times in 18 months they are the best band live
CCR is so awsome

@Redneckgirltc You're welcome! "This Is Indian Land" by Cody & The Departed is their debut away from CCR and it's amazing:)
