The Summer Hikaru Died is amazing! I bought the first volume on a whim and knowing nothing about it when it was first released in the u.s. and fell in love with it immediately! You didn't even need to take them out of the box, I saw the colors of the two volumes and knew what series it was and got so excited for you 🤣

Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m seeing Candy Candy manga. 🤩🤩 The anime adaption of this series is basically a national anime staple in my country; me, my brother and all people our age (he and I are respectively 48 and 44 years old) and in-between watched this anime when we were children or young. 🩷 Everybody in my country has been wanting to read the manga for decades, but sadly it can’t be published outside Japan because of the lawsuit between the two authors. 😩

I’m a shojo manga collector but recently feel like done since my room space is pretty full right now😂 good luck for those who still on the way. I got a full collection of Cardcaptor Sakura in collector’s edition (1-9 vo. ) which has the perfect quality for collecting purpose. The papers not easy get yellowing and can see the details of the art works.

I don't follow manga/anime closely but I do listen to Anime World Order podcast regularly and Right Stuf was their sole sponsor and they even had the owner on the show once. Essentially Right Stuf was started and owned by one guy who finally sold out to CrunchyRoll. The AWO crew predicted that Right Stuf would be left alone for a year and then suddenly assimilated into Sony/Crunchyroll and that's exactly what has happened. The big Right Stuf Sales and superb customer service have disappeared into the ether. I did in fact buy some Taiyo Matsumoto volumes from Right Stuf before they sold out, and while I don't order often, they will be missed. Sony effectively bought them just as a means to squash competition.

I remember about 2 years ago I had 2 manga volumes… I saw one of you videos and now I have 800 and somthing…. Been a year since I watched you… my channel name is inspired by u❤
The summer hikaru died (my thoughts): so I love this story so much!! I remember getting the first vol from 2023 summer! I was so excited to read it. While reading I thought the art is very well done (like it’s too good). The story is just 👨🍳💋. If you like creepy stuff this is perfect for you! I will say if you like surprises…this story has some surprises. (Trying not to spoil it 😅) but that’s all I’ll say. (Even though I didn’t say anything really).
I recently found your channel and as someone who wants to get into manga it has been enjoyable to watch your videos 💜
Do you have any manga that you recommend for beginners or those who are just starting out - specifically teenage too ?
The only manga I’ve read so far is Pokemon (lol) and I want to eat your pancreas but I plan to read Spyxfamily too!

it's pretty messed up that the translator changed the meaning and intent entirely for that series. that seems serious enough to get a translator fired...companies don't want to do reprints like that. how does that kind of thing happen without ever checking with the author about what they meant.
as a writer myself that would be my worst nightmare.. especially since changing one aspect can dramatically contrast to other aspects later on

I love Ai Minase. 💗 I have a few series from her (including Hachimitsu ni Hatsukoi), and I can’t wait for more to be published in my country - her art is super cute, and the stories are so sweet and fluffy. 🩷🩷
Also, if I can make a humble recommendation: a good enemies-to-l0vers manga is “Defying Kurosaki-kun” (original title “Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai”) by Makino; it’s completed in 19 volumes, and available in english in both paper and digital edition. It’s super slow-burn and, while the male lead does seem to be a true jacka*s for most of the series, also _because of_ that the final part is even more satisfying and makes the whole series worth it. 🤩
