I swear that King ISO is the only MC that I can listen to any of his songs on repeat and still feel the same exact way as I felt the first time I listen. Keep it up King.
I interpreted that the “Help Yourself” is a double entendre. Help yourself in the sense of you doing things for yourself first. But including that, you should be magnanimous when you live lavishly (or even in poverty), offering your food to others, saying “help yourself” to all of it. The biblical allusions here, with Moses, Jesus etc reinforces this idea about charity. So there’s a kind of dichotomy here, biblical characters are benevolent despite not being the richest (so they need to help themselves first), but they don’t, they help others first. It’s very interesting. There is so much more in the lyrics that warrants greater analysis. Such a good work.
