New to crossbows, this is clearly an “amateur “ made video…yet after 30 videos and numerous comments your video has been THE most informative on multiple levels like a pro. Ty so much great vid
One thing that I HIGHLY Recommend is to have a good BACKSTOP behind your target incase of a miss (IT DOES HAPPEN). The fence between your yard and your nehibors isn't intended for that. When I lived in a subdivision, I always used hay/straw bales doubled up (thickness). Make sure they extend at least a foot past each side and over the top. I am just super safety conscious, always have been. Other than that..... GREAT VIDEO!!!
Specially if your are using broadheads that are really sharp and meant to kill game for real, it's crazy how does things car pierce through your targets and they always find soft spots and just zip through them !
One tip, I always sight in with the same bolt that I hunt with. I have found even with good/expensive bolts, they are not perfectly the same. Slight differences in the fletching can cause the bolt to fly slightly different.
Thanks a lot, I noticed my arrow with a few extra markings on it shoots slightly different. In the future I am going to get some new bolts. I’ll test how it works with the new ones too.
I’m mad at myself for not doing full research. I can use the crossbow during archery season. So I traded it in for a compound bow. Still so much fun to shoot
I’ve noticed there’s a couple different variations or styles of the Killer instinct boss 405. Your the first person I’ve found that actually has the exact same one as me. I threw the original scope in the trash upon opening it the day I bought mine. I ordered a After market scope that’s higher end, also got a nice crossbow shoulder strap and crossbow carry case
My son has this crossbow. It's very accurate. But for deer hunting the arrows that come with it failed to give pass thrus at 25 yards. I'd definitely go heavier with the arrows for that.
@frank harte the 22" are heavier and more suited to hunting ( weight wise) My son went with the " pile driver" arrows and they penetrate a lot better. HTH
My son used the same bolts and is getting full pass through at 20-40 yards but he uses rage broad heads and his is a 380 not a 405 and he always goes for the double lung shot hopefully this helps
My old son just had that happen to him yesterday right after he got it dialed in at 50 yards. His not happy at all. He got his used. I just bought a brand new Boss 405 yesterday and haven't even sighted it in yet but I have to get it registered for the warranty so if I have a problem it's covered
Yeah I saw that a lot of people were saying to shorten the rope to making cocking time shorter with less effort! I’ll definitely do that, thanks @kingrider75
Is that legal to shoot in such a small property? In my area you have to have at least 10 acres to fire a gun, crossbow, or compound bow. If he misses his target his arrow will go through the fence into the neighbor's children. This would be a big fine in most areas and if anyone gets hurts is definitely criminal.
Some stores have a promotional package that includes the crank. I just picked this up from Kentucky Gun Co with the Crank for $305.00 shipped with the crank.

Yah great way to record!
Among all the good things in the video, I really salute you for your safety awareness. Great job bro.
I'm fired up!!! You fired up??? Can't wait to see what the Swatty will do.

Always number your bolts/arrows so it is easier to figure out which ones fly different.
Just bought this Xbow! Got to fire at the range for 40min and damn it’s a back workout. I’m loving it so much
LOL the draw back is pretty hefty. It’s really fun to shoot. I hope you are enjoying it!

I just ordered this bow didn't get it yet looking forward to shooting it.

I have this crossbow and I love it. Dead accurate and super powerful
I agree! It’s great for the value and like you said, dead accurate
Ever kill a deer with it? I can't find any one using it to kill one
@@Mikey-ym6ok thanks!
Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to you in a month or two on that.@@Cnb_0924
Did youbhave to adjust your scope any or you mounted it and it was already on target

Thanks for the update! That’s good to know I’ll definitely take note

I bought one last year and so far so good with it.
Glad to hear, any issues with strings?

Thank you for sharing. I’m going to buy one now new on clearance in Nebraska for $259
Man I like your back yard setup. How large is it? I can place my target out to 40 yrds.....
Hi ! Nice video. Anda Nice House to. What si The distance You been shooting ? Thanks.
20-30 yards
I have no problem with the 405 I killed over 30 deer with it and still on
You need a backstop, that fence isnt going to do much to stop many bolts.
Good crossbow?
Absolutely is
What is your recording equipment sir?
I am using a lavMic U1A by Saramonic and a DJI Air2s drone with 5.4k and 4k 60fps fantastic camera and quality and gimbal
Nice, what was the gadget that remotely moved your camara?
DJI drone app.
Did yall have any problems with the arms splinting?
Not yet but the string failed after just a few shots and now I can’t get the string to latch to cock it it’s a pos
@@lancekirby5725my youngest son had that problem with his and it was in the trigger spring., but it was fixed and no charge

No problems! Still going strong
Can you use this for elk or moose
I’m not sure if the FPS is high enough for an animal of that caliber. Not impossible but would be quite the shot
But I do like the bow it's pretty quiet and fast!and great trigger.
I know the trigger is great
Extremely accurate xbow fer sure.
Definitely, once you get the sight tuned in and run some test shots. It really performs.
Killer instinct are great for the money
I totally agree. Worth every penny my friend!

Good job👍 shorten your cocking rope up. Will make cocking way easier
Yeah I saw that a lot of people were saying to shorten the rope to making cocking time shorter with less effort! I’ll definitely do that, thanks @kingrider75
@@mjfoutdoors1551 shorten to just where the hooks will stay on string.
@@SquirrelDarling1 Okay, I will thanks for the advice!

MFJ can you shoot it upside down?
For one thing, dumb question. Why would you want to shoot it upside down??? You can't shoot any crossbow upside down.
I see this at bass pro.. but how come the one I see has a crank and yours don’t? Is the crank optional ?
Yes
Yeah the crank is an add on. I didn’t buy it. I like the classic draw back
