If Ceroba is supposed to function as the Undying (as she is the mid-way boss in genocide), then, as the final actual boss in genocide, that would make Martlet the insert for Sans.💙
I think what I like most about Zenith Martlet is how it fills out the setting. Undertale talks big about the power of a monster bearing a human soul, but outside of Asriel and Ω Flowey (one of which is a spectacle fight where Frisk is so roided by their own determination they can match their influence over time with that of a literal deity with seven times the soul and the other is Flowey screwing with them and pretty clearly holding back for most of the fight) and to a degree Undyne the Undying (whose determination is entirely her own) it doesn't really show that power. Martlet becoming the zenith of monsterkind fully displays in one fell swoop why monsters coveted the human soul, why humanity downright FEARED monsters' ability to absorb them, and why they went to such lengths to quite literally bury that potential threat. Martlet isn't Royal Guard Captain material like Undyne, she doesn't have Sans' meta tricks or the Dreemurrs' Boss Monster status and strength, she's by all accounts a regular, if somewhat tough monster. And yet with the soul juice flowing through her, not even a full soul, just some extracted Determination crudely injected, she is entirely capable of cleaning a near-peak strength Clover's cloth so completely that it's clear to see humanity would be utterly screwed if even a small handful of these DT-empowered monsters were running around and got some ideas about putting the meat-people in their place. It doesn't justify their war, it was still a needless escalation that was little more than outright genocide where they decimated the monster populace and stuffed the remains into a hole in the ground, but it certainly highlights why *they* thought it was necessary. With the gift of hindsight, it was a cruel and unjust war that cost monsterkind almost everything. But to the humans of yore, where monsters were a potentially existential threat should one get their hands on a soul and times were presumably far less civil than the modern day, it was, well, kill or be killed.
I mean they’re completely different fights zenith marlet is just a really difficult fight with a few new machanics sans straight up makes most of your moves useless you’re armor and your weapon don’t matter the he just dodges if you fight act taunts you with the easiest enemy and the menu isn’t even a safe place anymore I still think sans is better but zenith marlet is extremely good
@@Groffylom eh, feels more boring to me, cool at first, but still kinda meh, at least martlet looks powerful, sans is powerful just because. Besides zenith martlet also still messes with the UI like locking the fight option in the first half and then messing with the direction of the soul in the 2nd half
No imagino el dolor que ha sentido marlet en su segunda fase ( lo digo por que supuestamente cuando uno se transforma en amalgama sufre un dolor inimaginable), admira su determinacion :,)
I remember watching the full fight of this on someoone else's channel, and the sheer horror I felt when Martlet injected herself with the syringe and just turning into the boss monster Ceroba was talking about on the pacifist route. The ending animation was really hard to watch at the end as well, this fan game is incredible
Retribution: Martlet is taking revenge for those whom Clover killed Clover takes revenge for 5 human souls and takes revenge on the monsters who tried to kill him
If you think about it, this is exactly what Chujin wanted, a boss monster made from an ordinary monster, Therefore, in the second phase, the martlet has the title of the zenith of monsterkind
I just realized Undertale: Pacifist: male final boss (asriel) Neutral: flowey Genocide: male final boss (sans) Undertale yellow: Pacifist: female final boss (ceroba) Neutral: flowey Genocide: female final boss (martlet) Was it on purpose? We will never know
I mean, I like to think that Remedy is actually Marlet's theme while Retribution sounds even more like it could be Clover's theme in this route since the first one is full of motiv's which are only by Marlet while the second almost mainly includes the theme that plays while you are doing the genocide. Apart from this, it is in this part that you know that Clover is going to win after all they just have to hold on until determination finishes the job
Top 10 boss musics in my Opinion 1 - Best Friends Forever 2 - Showdown! 3 - Afterlife 4 - Some Point of no return 5 - Retribuition 6 - Remedy 7 - a mother's love 8 - Forlorn 9 - Enemy retreating (i consider Clover's boss theme) 10 - i dunno xd
I think this genocide battle is better in all aspects than sans In that route, you create a genocide only because of the curiosity, and the determination of continue to see the end, beeing sans like a "remember your sins of doing what do you do". Kind of weird remembering that frisk do a genocide just because he wants. In this case, it isn't a "genocide for know what happens". Is the justice for the humans that fall and die. Clover wants justice for them, but martlet's justice is different. For her, your a real monster, someone who went to low in the balance of justice and doesn't believe in the real justice. This is a clash of ideals. Not a "accept your sins". More like a "let's see who is right in the ideal we defend" And I love it :D
@@Someguyidk5988 it's more like a better perspective of what represent every soul Determination it's to never give up until the circunstaces, you have the control to do what you want and nothing will stands in your objective Justice (or judgment, the real yellow soul) it's the will to decide destiny, the destiny for you or for the others. Depending on what person you think, judgment can be a pleasure... Or doom
The problem with Yellow, and the reasoning behind the original UT's more "meta" version, is because the narrative of a "just" genocide is completely absurd. Like Martlet says, the death of five humans doesn't even come close to justify slaughtering every monster in your path, many of whom had literally nothing to do with the humans who fell. Saying that the Genocide route is "fair" because of five humans is like saying blowing up an entire school with a artillery is "fair" because there's a bully in there. Only a soulless, inhuman mindset would ignore that kind of collateral damage and loss of innocent life.
@@Lardo137 in that you're right Clover's actions aren't fair Martlet said that: they take five. You take dozens. But at least with Clover you have an objective. It's not like you make a genocide just for fun and see what happens (right, frisk). Clover wants vengeance: the vengeance for the humans. But that vengeance create a very extremist way that no monster can live. He don't make justice. He make vengeance. But not a real one. It's like a balance of justice: all the time that has to be in balance. Clover turn out that balance to an extreme and don't what to change that. That's why I think this "genocide" route (more like vengeance route) it's my favourite between UT and UTY Btw, it's just my opinion, you don't have to share it with me :)
What "remember your sins of doing what do you do" mean? It seems that someone has watched too many memes of "Human I remember your genocides". Sans doesn't really remember anything, he can only read in your face how many times you died. And doing something out of curiosity is the main theme of undertale and the player, literally the entire Flowey dialogue in genocide, which is much more interesting than the theme of revenge that has gone too far, which is overused by everyone in all media. And the destruction of the whole world, monsters and humans is better than the racist genocide of monsters from Clover. The red soul is not determination, we have no idea what trait this soul has or if there is at all, it is quite possible that this means either a game or a player, judging by the game with a snowball. Also, determination is not a separate trait, it exists in all human souls and even in some monster souls, and we do not know the color of determination.

If Ceroba is supposed to function as the Undying (as she is the mid-way boss in genocide), then, as the final actual boss in genocide, that would make Martlet the insert for Sans.💙
Except I legitimately can't decide who's worse
@@Spiralredd sans wins just because of community behind him 😭
This *genocide* is *Pissing me off* ...
I' m the original *Zenith of monsterkind*
But to the humans of yore, where monsters were a potentially existential threat should one get their hands on a soul and times were presumably far less civil than the modern day, it was, well, kill or be killed.
my favorite part was when martlet said “clover this is the end of you’re undertale yellow” and then proceeded to undertale yellow all over the place
this fight is so much more epic than sans, her turning into this giant bird for the fight is so much cooler than sans just dodging tbh
I think Sans dodging was cool for the game it was in, where monsters don't usually dodge. It plays to his heightened sense of awareness
Funny thing, with the "giant bird" thing, Martlet is still only about as big as Asgore. Which doesn't make her any less epic!

Apart from this, it is in this part that you know that Clover is going to win after all they just have to hold on until determination finishes the job

I think this genocide battle is better in all aspects than sans
In that route, you create a genocide only because of the curiosity, and the determination of continue to see the end, beeing sans like a "remember your sins of doing what do you do".
More like a "let's see who is right in the ideal we defend"
And I love it :D
Absolute facts. IMO, UT’s genocide takes a more meta side of the game’s aspects while UT!Yellow takes a more narrative perspective.
@@Someguyidk5988 it's more like a better perspective of what represent every soul
Determination it's to never give up until the circunstaces, you have the control to do what you want and nothing will stands in your objective
Justice (or judgment, the real yellow soul) it's the will to decide destiny, the destiny for you or for the others.
@@Lardo137 in that you're right
Clover's actions aren't fair
Martlet said that: they take five.
That's why I think this "genocide" route (more like vengeance route) it's my favourite between UT and UTY
Btw, it's just my opinion, you don't have to share it with me :)
I just like how it was actually Clover doing all this damage instead of Chara with Frisk.

I mean the scream at the start of the fight is almost the same as dynablade, and she does the same fly at the screen attack.
Could zenith martlet be slightly inspired by dynablade?
I'm not sure this was determination, she kinda died at the end. Undyne had NATURAL determination and died without becoming an amalgamation. So I'm guessing there is a difference when it comes to the two types.
My guess? This is something else, especially since she became freaking celestial!
