I am glad to see your opinions evolve on 1) mother’s lament, 2) dots, and 3) the benefits of certain powerful 1 star gems for certain builds, even if you could awaken a less optimal 2 star or 5 star gem in the same slot. As shown in my recent gem features guide, I have made every 1 star gem dormant, and currently use one of them at a time, along with three 2 star gems and four 5 star gems. At just over 4k reso (nowhere near my max), I consider this my current sweet spot to balance gem effects, awakened bonuses, gem resonance bonuses, and resonance.
Berserk is a common pick. Freedom and devotion a must for demon hunters, misery elixir is a must for dot resolution builds for classes like crusader and necro. Depending on your class and activity 2 1* or even 3 would be the sweet spot especially for ow farming with 4x grace set. Viper/torment combo deal 2mil damage on its own
If you have a slot for this gem, then you can consider it. However, it's 16% and doesn't work on bosses. That's why I didn't mention this gem in the video.

This might be a dead-pan joke that flew a bit over the head because of the narration voice. People consider this gem to be a "duck you" from devs. Every time you get free crests in the mail for some mistake, there is a very high chance (unofficially) you'll get a mocking laughter in the next run with this crest. Hence "Even if you haven't been lucky enough to get 6 copies of this gem". There is practically no use from 'taunt' non-elites in the game.
Total loss of control is a missed boon by most players. Increase to damage done to enemies suffering from total loss of control is the gear stat that you're overlooking.
Selad is a bad gem man. You will be mostly missing so much dmg in start of cdg and selad bonus wont count if u only assit in boss killing not kill it. Even moureskull is alot better cuz the condition to activate is alot more easy.
Same guy who said pain clasp and everlasting torment were not good for necro…more stats and u-turns. And another useless content video that concentrates on stats and numbers, do you even play the game?

How about the 1 star gem Pain of subjugation? Increase dmg to enemies are suffering loss of control like Slow and Chill? I think its really good.

Loss of control damage increase. Plus if you pair mocking laughter with Chip of Stone Flesh the results in pvm pve may surprise you against monsters 😊

Noone cares bout PvE in this game tbh. Once you reach the CR required, no monsters (including bosses) are a challenge.

Buff is activated after killing elite (blue, yellow or orange mob) duration is way over 1 min. Superior and cheap gem for many nowadays activities.
