    Pop Benedict abdicated himself, why could it not be for a king of imperial Japan? Now that is is not a king, he has to make his own living. Perhaps, He could go around Asian countries apologizing what his father, Hirohito, did bad things to them on his behalf.

      The prime minister already does that.

      Dementos The former prime minister Koizumi did make an apology kneeling down at the monument after he retired, not being an representative of a government, as a civilian. What the victims of the atrocities demand is a formal apology from an official like current minister Abe. Abe made an apologetic gesture and then he visited Yasukuni where x imperial soldiers are enshrined as the nation's heroes, which gives dual messages to the world not being truly apologetic in nature. Apology entails genuinity and responsibility for the actions have been committed. Abe failed both.

      Yes, I was born about 60 years after Japan invaded my country, but does it change the fact that they leveled our forefather's cities, pillaged our forefather's homes, and raped our women? No amount of time could allow for unconditional forgiveness to be given on such a large scale. My country was on the high road to prosperity before 1940. After 1945, we were entirely screwed over.

      Matthew Tolentino Japan's monarchy is tied with atrocities committed by imperial Japan. Until their king comes truly apologetic, it's an evil monarchy as far as I am concerned.

    I'm guessing that if there are no Royal male heirs , the staff of the royal households could search the family tree to see who is eligible for Japan's throne by looking at other relatives or distant relatives of royal blood lines.

    • @abdulbubbly3673
      @abdulbubbly3673 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well there are still clans with blood relations to the imperial family so it could work

    If Japan doesn't have any male heir anymore, they only had 2 choices :
    1. let female to become Empress of Japan.
    2. Totally become a Republic.

      Ernest Jay 3. Use genetics and genealogical studies to find the closest male relative, which is what Britain has been doing since the 1700s. see Male Primogeniture.
      Note that in 2013 Britain switched over to Absolute Primogeniture to "get on with the times". Unlikely with Japan though.

    • @jhca4671
      @jhca4671 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ernest Jay no republic, thanks. First, there are male heirs who can ascend to the Chrysanthemums Throne. Second, there were 11 former imperial branches that were abolished by the lowgrade Americans after ww2, but they can be brought back

      Or reinstate the imperial concubinage. Mejji and 5 emperors before him were all sons of concubines. This is the reason why Japan's imperial line is unbroken for millennia and why it's dwindling now.

God was worrying about me that much that he would remind me of our great love for him is what turns me on. Japan has a Prime Minister and the national diet which is their parliament.

      The ID Squad Yes, the Emperor's role is symbolic. They have a National Diet (parliament/congress) which is elected by the people. They also have the Prime Minister and Cabinet which runs the government.
