    Great demonstration!
    Put some weaker governer on the springs on it, and greatly reduce its running speed..

    I have one of these and I love it, the only problem is that when I attempted to order spare O rings for the piston, nothing happened. Thanks a friggin lot Bang-good.

    I think you need to put weaker springs on the governor to slow it down a bit , it will sound a lot better.

    Good video, I ordered one of those engines also, runs good. It is based on a design up loaded to the web by David Kerzel.

    Thanks Steve for the video. I have had my engine now for several months, and it is like you say, a great piece of work, and runs great. I add about 10% of oil (I use Marvel Mystery Oil) to the lighter fluid, as the cylinder has no oiler like on the real engines of this type. The MMO in the oil, adds a red color to the lighter fluid and indicates that oil has been added to the fuel. Also, your "decompression valve" is actually the intake valve (atmospheric) for the engine; the exhaust valve is the operated one.

      Hi Karl thanks that is great I will have to get an oil for mine. I don't know if it is sold in the UK? I have just mounted mine on a nice block of stained solid oak wood which I have fixed to the walnut board, ready for the model generators when they arrive. I really love this engine and never knew there was such a thing until Banggood sent it. I see they do an upright engine as well. Thanks for the info on the intake valve as well. It seems a very reliable engine and constant in its operation. I hope it lasts well so I can show it off. The oil additive should protect it well. Regards Steve

      @@SteveJordan If you come over to the United States sometime during the summer months, there are antique farm equipment shows all over the Midwest states. There are usually many types of these motors, as well as steam, oil, and gas powered machines of all kinds. A real motorhead's delight! I have not kept in touch, but at one time a hugh one was held in Mount Pleasant, Iowa over the Labor Day holiday. Insurance costs and demands have really been hurting these events, but many smaller ones carry on.

    Gday Steve, great little hit and miss engine, I’ve seen other videos on these and like you was amazed by how small the spark plug was, thank you for sharing mate, ATB Matty

    Just got mine from Banggood, started and ran perfectly. Great video, but you need to mix a tiny bit of 2 cycle oil to the fuel mix.

    Thanks for sharing! My interest in small engines is pretty new. I only started studying engineering less then a year ago as a spare time hobby. My goal is to get to a place I can make one, but that looks like a great hands on model to study.

    Hi Steve. My experience with this engine is great. But I would like to give you and the rest some comments about it. First of all I used zippo fluid during the first week of operation. After that there was no spark at all. I opened the combustion chamber and noticed that it was completely covered in soot (carbon deposits) and therefore everything needed to be clean including the piston head, cylinder walls and valves. I started using 95 octane gas and the engine had a radical change. It works flawlessly, perfect explosion, perfect ignition and no heat at all (after 15 minutes of continous operation the temperature of the cylinder is 22°C). Just keeping the cylinder oiled as well as the moving parts. Regards

      Hi Matias. I will try the 95 octane petrol as mine stopped due to carbon deposit on the spark plug with zippo lighter fuel. Thanks for the info. They are fantastic little engines. Regards Steve

      @@SteveJordan Cool Steve. Just make sure to clean everything inside with alcohol (piston head, both valves and the spark) and try 95 octane petrol. Also make sure to oil carefuly the cylinder walls with 10W40 oil and the temperature will be really controlled. Also you will notice that the plastic oring will last for months. Best regards and I wish you luck!!

    I got one and ran it on the lighter fuel at first, but it runs far more readily from a cold start if you run it on ordinary petrol/gas. It needs a slightly more open needle setting on the carb, just a touch more open than was optimal on the Ronson Lighter Fluid that I first used. Also, you want a little oil in the petrol to lube the bore if you are running it for long.

    Do i have to mix the fuel with some oil? Or is it good with just fuel.

    • @SteveJordan
      @SteveJordan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just use lighter fuel, but I think some people use petrol with a few drops of two stroke oil. I just oil everything up before starting. Maybe someone else will know?

      It's either one of those or a wooden pencil case. I reckon they put this on to keep the costs down a bit and knowing enthusiast's would change it. After all it couldn't be mounted on plastic, metal or hardwood really without driving up the costs considerably.
