Lin Shidong is severely underrated. This is the second time he beat Fan Zhendong. He also beat Liang Jingkun 3-0 two months ago. He was the only one at WTT Star Contender Doha who took 2 games off of Wang Chuqin. The Chinese coaches should put him in the Chinese national team to give him more exposure; he needs to be developed ASAP to replace the old guys like Ma Long and Lin Gaoyuan.

Unbelievable game from lin. Fzd didn't just play bad or anything, it was just that lsd completely overpowered him. Not sure if any other player stands a chance against him rn if he continues to play like this. Maybe wang chuqin. But only bc of experience.
Lin knows Fed’s game too well, if you look closely, in the middle of backhand rally, Lin could precisely anticipate Fzd’s timing of stepping aside to hit forehand, and Lin would hit Fzd’s forehand. By that time, Fzd’s momentum made him impossible to move back. It’s a play again and again. Amazing!
Fan seems a bit exhausted there, normally he is the most explosive one if it comes to reactions. Im wondering how long you can hold on to such a playstyle without any complications or bad effeckts to your Body. To me ShaoPang is the "MostExplosiveAllTime", next to the "GOAT". 😁

Which is why I rolled my eyes whenever someone says "in the furure XXX will be a problem for Chinese players" as if the world stands still and there won't be new Chinese players.
Incredible looking back at this, after Timo dismantled Shidong with his high iq game. I honestly thought Shidong would blast Timo 3:0 but instead I had to learn how impactful an intelligent game can be.

It would be ridiculous if LSD doesn't get included in team event at Olympics. I understand there is no way they would exclude MaLong, but they could easily sacrifice LGY
Ma long on his current performance is definitely not playing in Olympics. Wang Chuqin is currently the best player, he will be probably play in olympics and maybe Fan zhendong

@@shikhararora5199 I was talking about the team event, not singles. When it comes to MaLong, the decision will clearly be made not only based on his performance. As long as he has no injury, he will 100% be a part of the team, no matter how he performs in the remaining events. So there are 4 spots remaining. FZD and WCQ are out of question. That leaves us with LJK, LGY and LSD - 3 people for 2 remaining spots on the team. I personally would eliminate LGY.

Lin is playing good. Fan is not paying his best, he's a bit slow here and not making many shots. Fan has to be at the top of his game going up against these younger sharper guys who's reflexes are just so much quicker.

Lin Shidong's serves are slightly illegal. The rule says that "the service shall start with the ball resting freely on the open palm of the server's stationary free hand." The rule was made to prevent players from adding extra spin on the ball before the ball is hit.
But Lin Shidong closes his fingers around the ball JUST BEFORE launching it in the air. Now this might just be a bad habit. I don't think he is actually adding extra spin on the ball.
