They're just custom playmats with the zones layered over them. I put a template for the card zones in the Gundam Card Game Discord if you want to create your own.

Colors seem to follow certain mechanics, e.g. Breach is only found in Green as of now. Other than that, your deck can have cards from a maximum of 2 colors, so they exist to restrict deck building.

Isn't 5 resources the max? From the video seems like there is no cap in how many you can have
Regular resources go up to 10, you're thinking about EX Resource, which are capped at 5.
