    I think wet shaving produces the best look and feel...though the electrics look ok. Bald is bold and bald is beautiful!

    Try the Leaf Shave Razor, works like a cartridge razor but uses double edge razor blades so no plastic waste, super cheap to buy the blades, and none of the fear of a traditional DE safety razor…definitely the way to go if you’re joining the slap head army like the rest of us 😂👍

    I personally use the new slim Braun Serie 7 for a head shave and use the one blade for my beard. This the best combination i found.

      @@OwenJackson For the past 5years now I've been shaving my head. I first started off by doing wet shaves with Gillette but then I stopped, switching over to electric clippers and shavers. Much better and no nicks.

      @@bryanjonathanwilliams6073 oooh interesting. I certainly feels its easier/ safer with electric razors. Fair play that you went straight for the wet shave 👏 there does seem like less waste with electric however that may be my delusion as electric razors have a finite life too. Its difficult right? I guess it all comes down to personal preference

      @@OwenJackson Definitely safer, no ingrown hair/s and no nicks with electric shavers and indeed it's up to personal preference. Electric shavers are more economically-friendly in the long run compared to cartridge razors

      @@OwenJackson to be honest mate I've stopped using the skull shaver as the blades blunt very quickly . I've gone back to my old method which is a Gillette proglide power and shaving my head in the shower . Get a close shave everytime and no irration . If you start using a razor and get any bumps I would highly recommend a product called "tend skin " absolutely amazing .

    Keep that sucker perfectly flat on your head, much closer shave. It works really well but head shaving will destroy those blades unfortunately, I'm talking like 2-4 head shaves tops. Try the Wahl balding clipper, it's a serious bit of kit.

    • @OwenJackson
      @OwenJackson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ian. Will take your advice onboard 👍 I agree the effectiveness of the blades soon diminishes making it less than ideal. So you'd say the cost of the Wahl balding is worth it? I've also seen a Baldfader plus which looks to offer a very close shave also

    • @ianmuessig
      @ianmuessig 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OwenJackson The wahl balding clipper gives the closest head shave of anything I've used besides a safety razor or a foil shaver. I am a big fan of Braun foil shavers but I easily suffer from irritation on the back of my neck (like you do, if I remember you mentioning correctly). I've been on a really long head shaving journey and just can't seem to find the 'perfect' balance between closeness and no irritation. Foil shavers seem to be the best middle ground I've found but again, irritation creeps up. The Wahl balding clipper is the next best if you don't mind a faint stubble. If a razor gives you a glass smooth shave, a foil shaver gives you what you'd have a few hours later, the Wahl balding clipper gives you 'next day stubble', and the philips oneblade is about the same. The new remington rx5 rotary head shaver is supposed to be great but I've had bad luck with rotaries so I haven't tried it. I really like having a shiny smooth dome but my 'horseshoe ring' of hair grows in very quickly so I've been considering just sticking with a very tight buzz every couple days. Wahl also makes budget models of the balder called the 'ultra close cut' and 'ultra close cut pro', the actual balding clipper is very heavy duty.

    • @OwenJackson
      @OwenJackson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shael, they are described as being for face, body and any hair length. Maybe they’re not designed for this specific use case, however I don’t think that they can’t be used to shave your head.
      I really think it’s a good tool. Light weight, ergonomic, easy to transport, but the short life of the blades is a bit of a let down, expensive and hinders an otherwise good product
      Are you looking for a head shaver specifically?

    You have to consider this blade was meant for your face and not your head. So the 4 month claim applies to beard shaving. Your head is a much larger and dense area. Thankfully I have a full head of hair lol 🤣 just saying if you want to shave your head it may be smarter to invest in something more heavy duty than the oneblade.
