  • "I think Putin never thought that would happen. Putin thought that we would always be, you know, these these highly corrupted Westerners."
Bill Browder describes the shock of himself and likely those close to Putin as the West closes in on sending Russian asset cash to Ukraine.

Can you donn't understand? Where the money is, are financial states, where you can stall your money with trust. Than every country has there own laws. You cann't do this without concequinties. This countries will not lose all the other investors in their banking systems, so that they lose all the other rich people, because you are not to be trusted. The Russian has now for a long time courtcases to this countries.

Dude was a predatory capitalist who was stealing the wealth of Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union. After Putin stopped him and his friends, Russia went from a failing, Anarchist State to a growing stable country which is now growing faster than all major NATO nations. Ok, Navalny, but I’d say Assange case is worse, as the formers charges were legitimate and he died of a brain hemorrhage.
Then there’s Gonzalo Lira, a U.S. citizen (who I’ve heard liberals say deserved to die due to his opinion), who died in a Ukrainian prison due to not getting medical attention. And where did Snowden go? Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want to live in Russia atm, but we are on a downward trajectory and they’re on an upward trend. And the propaganda is probably as bad in each country.
MSM in US and UK is jarring to watch due to the spin they put on everything.

It's us who will pay in the end... Confiscating assets is not a one-way street, banning imports just pushes up inflation and it's unlikely to change anything. You don't get that Russian economy doesn't work in the same way as the west. We've been sold these "hopes" all along, it's just coping with the fact that Ukraine is losing and has to settle for less than what it had on Feb 23, 2022.

@@tudvalstone It's economy works the exact same way, hence why its currency is in the gutter and Putin and his dogs cry every chance they can about it. Don't mistake Putin treating his population like medieval peasants as a different working economy. The Russian people are so use to getting beaten down by their oppressive government that it gives the Kremlin a lot more leeway to tighten the screws in situations like this. The only reason it doesn't hurt them more is because they have alternate trade partners who have help lessen the blown, but even then it wasn't enough considering the trade Russia lost with the west. If the west continues to target the holes in their sanctions it will only cause Russia even more harm. In regards to the west, we haven't even bothered to roll out of bed yet. The impact from Russia's war of expansion has had a very limited impact on most nations, and its populations. As usual the west refuses to sacrifice anything in order to deal with a future threat that is attempting to wipe a nation off the map. It's only fair Russia pay for the harm its caused trying to meet the ambitions of their dictator.

Great idea if you have no knowledge of finance nor politics. Ever heard of the word 'diplomacy' ?
Putin remains steadfast on the rule of international law and hence is getting a lot of pressure to walk straight in and blast the Ukrainians off the map and take back the land that is rightfully Russia.
But he is smart and refrains from using any illegal tactics (such as UK. Germany, France USA etc) to settle this local boundary squabble. He keeps using conventional war rules and does not attack civilian areas - because he is aware of the rule - unlike yanks who don't give a damn for rules nor contracts nor agreements nor anything which would bring PEACE.
A NEVER ENDING war is what USA dearly needs to attempt to pay for its 34 trillion dollar debt to the rest of us. Each Amerrican and Brit born today is IMMEDIATELY 100,000 dollars or pounds in debt. From day one.
      Now think about that.
      usdebtclock.org/world-debt-clock.html
Don't look at the state of your economies if you are of a nervous disposition.
Only the BRICS economies are continually expanding and the way to stop that is simply to BOMB them and destroy their societies through 'democracy' movements! Get injected, keep getting jabbed and you will be fine! Ignore the initial poor health and inability to walk or think, that will go away after a month or at the longest six months.

In 1991 I went to Russia and Ulraine: a very historic year in Russia and only 5 years since Chernobyl, half an hour from Kiev. I had incredible experiences most tourists don't have.
I wholly support the US support of Ukraine, and even check my weather app regularly to see what their soldiers are living with. A dreadful winter; spring can't come soon enough!

      "rules"
There are no rules. Many countries have asked countless times to be given the rules. Not one time has America ever provided a country with the rules.
The "rules" are "Whatever America wants it gets. Whatever America wants to do it can do."
Why mention "rules" when speaking about a country's behaviour?
      Why not mention "international law"?

Bill Browder thanks for all you do. The UK government should try every possible angle to get one of its citizens, Vladimir Kara-Murza, out of solitary in Siberia (25 years) and back in the free world. Kara-Murza is a man of principle, honest, courageous but even so, it's very likely he won't make it out to freedom. These videos by Bill are important contributions and we need them to be reminded of, if you like, the price of freedom, what's at stake here.

NAZIny was NOT a good guy, nor did he have any real chance of becoming President of Russia to begin with (as long as Russians old enough to remember the 1990s - basically any Russian currently in their mid 30s and up - remains the majority of voters, there is NO chance a political figure who is deemed "too chummy" with Western government officials would ever win an election)! 🤣

What they're talking here is seizing the Russian money stored there and give it to Ukraine.
And it's just not doable for a very simple reason: Russia will simply repay itself by seizing physical western assets in Russia. They lose western bonds, win physical stuff.
And i'm not even talking about the theft of bonds and what it means for the international order.

USA/UK/Germany are all in the stages just before liquidation. 34 TRILLION is a serious amount of money - but don't worry. As long as the people at the top don't reveal the disaster they are in and keep getting paid their annual wage then they are not likely to mention that the west is long since bankrupt. It is an ever expanding bubble with zero resources and one commodity - trust - or as they put it "strength".
Yes strength in weakness. That is what saves you all. BRICS are dominating. Just ignore that fact. Wait till you read the news about what they have bought from the countries who couldn't pay the energy bills. I watched Japan buy up lots of newYork buildings and the yanks were raging. Now that USA is worth a total of MINUS trillions who would be so nasty as to buy the whole heap for buttons and then sell it to Congo? And let the Congo boys sort out the mess.

Estimates earlier in the war were reconstruction etc. might be 1 trillion, give or take; and frozen assets amount to 600 billion. So, it's a significant portion. OK, that was a while ago, and did not include damages, crimes (compensation for victims), stolen assets (Oil etc. from Donbas and agricultural products), so that probably adds another trillion. Still, 600 billion is quite some part of 2 trillion.
"Only the profits from it" (1-3 billion?) as discussed elsewhere is indeed pocket money.
