    18:36 Veritas also has a remarkably high density of 8.4, more than iron and far more than most asteroids, including (16) Psyche.

    Superb presentation. I appreciate your skill. One can even fantasise what it is like to stand on one of these bodies. One fascinating asteroid is the Jupiter Trojan, Hektor. Another point is that media often presents asteroids as clumps all over the place like the rings of Saturn. It is not like that in real life. Distances between asteroids is still very large, and they would not dominate the night sky if one was standing on it.

    • @jackesioto
      @jackesioto ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although it would be quite difficult to stand on an asteroid given that the gravity on one is typically so low as to be akin to microgravity. You'd probably need some kind of anchor or tether to prevent yourself from floating off of the asteroid.

      16:38 "slow down the orbital period by half an hour" SLOW DOWN means TAKES LONGER ... but...
      then you say "from 11h:55m to 11h:22m" which means it has a SHORTER period. You have your numbers the wrong way round.
      Alternatively, you have confused "speed up" and "slow down".

    If I had my own ship, I would spend years just exploring the surfaces and make-up of these celestial bodies. I remember the first time photos of Ida and Dactyl were made public. I pored over them for hours. Apparently Ultima Thule was considered "racist"🙄 so it was renamed Arrokoth. A weird, but fascinating looking contact-binary.

    8:36 Paha means bad or evil in finnish language. Hiisi was ancient place of worship for finno-ugric tribes and later on it was spiritual being in finnish paganism, also Lempo was god in finnish paganism. Do you know who named these objects?

    Astronomers build giant telescopes worth billions to discover space rocks and give them names. Meanwhile, rocks on Earth are crushed and mixed with concrete to make buildings and bridges. How sad.
