I love all these country music singers and Riders In the Sky, George Hamilton 4th and Jeanie Seeley singing Sentimental Journey. I love Mandy Barnett's songs. Any songs that she sings are great.
I do love watching these shows. Wish I had been invited to one of the Next Generation programs, I was, after all, Hawk’s first next generation. I am a singer, songwriter, author, evangelist, and speaker.
Working with him ( & most others) some 40 plus yrs, how was she supposed to look,? She was one of least "stuck up" people in show biz. And her health was beginning to fail; these programs were filmed in the mornings whereas regular "working hours"' for these people was night hours ( & had been for yrs). She was one the kindest, nicest people in the biz. She was in her 70's here, singing even greater.
Country today is not real country. It's rap, rock, pop and crap. Johnny cash once said "Hank Sr would be turning in his grave if he could see what was happening to country music today so, Waylon writes a song called 'Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?'
The large record companies effectively killed real country music over the last 25 yrs. 99% of what we hear on country radio today should be classified as pop music. it's not real country music. There are still some great young country music singers that can't get the time of day from these companies. All they want to produce is cookie cutter pop tunes and yes they all sound alike. That's why I stopped listening to it.

Wow! This was 13 years ago and just as appropriate today as far as the "modern country music" is concerned!
